Tonic Ice

This is surprisingly one of my favourite perfumes of all time. This review is based on the performance of the perfume on my own skin as a man and as an unique individual. No perfume performs the same on anyone. Many factors affect this. The general scent profile per se isn't unique or something that hasn't been done before. It is a very pleasant fresh, clean, marine citrusy fragrance that manages to make everyone love it, even people who tend to be marine averse. The start carries some resemblance to the citrusy fresh notes from 4711 Cologne, without the herbal, vintage or medicinal notes that the latter carries. For the untrained noises, at first sniff it smells like a very delicious marine/clean deodorant. It lacks the powdery or soapy elements of those though, which makes it unique. It later develops into a very different beast. It has a very delicate touch of ozone/petrichor, without it being pungent, invasive or unpleasant. Quite the opposite. It is a very well balanced scent. Extremely recommended for professional/academic neutral settings, where a good constant impression must be made without being too aggressive, vain or overpowering. It is also versatile enough to fit gym or sports settings. The scent is not distracting, although it is noticeable for 6 to 8 hours, depending on the amount of sprays, weather and other external conditions. The fragrance progressively transforms into a more mature, yet still diverse fragrance. It slowly develops a slightly salty and musky note as the day goes by, without losing the fresh, aromatic, marine profile. I can only describe it as the best part of the slightly musky scent of a man who has exercised lightly and was wearing a marine scent before, but without the dirty or stinky side of it. It becomes animalistic, slightly erotic, ever so slightly sweet. Like the sweet and salty popcorn but with the popcorn being exchanged for a clean marine scent (which remains constant thanks to the Oakmoss and Patchouli). I can only assume it is the salty component mixed with the Musk what gives this slightly "clean" pheromone/sweat touch to it. It doesn't become obscene or inappropriate, but based on compliments and feedback given, I can definitely say it could help in day dating (cafes, sports, strolls, etc.) settings. In my skin, I do feel it enhances my own natural body scent after a shower and upgrades it (the very subtle one we all have even after showering, without it being unpleasant or strong). I do feel this perfume adapts to the wearer and enhances your very own natural scent whilst keeping the "just showered" aspect of it (but please, guys, be normal and use after showering daily, this is not a substitute for it). I have barely reviewed the scent on women, but the one family member (woman) who put it on, developed a more "tonic water" profile, without the bitterness. It was bubbly, almost like sparkling water, and more citrusy. Performance wise, I can say it lasts strong easily for 4 to 5 hours, but depending on other conditions, it can last up to 6 or 8, but way more dissipated. It could potentially benefit from one reapplication (1-2 sprays max.) after 4 or 5 hours if you really need to keep the citrusy freshness for longer. Overall I'd give it a 10/10, as long as you want a perfume to perform in the conditions stated, and during day time. It can be worn all year long, but it can become underwhelming in special night time life events.

This smells like the name, tonic water. It opens up with fresh-airy citrus, similar to schnapps/schweppes yellow tonic water. A little bit sweet, and very airy. It dries down to a nice soapy clean scent with a hint of citrus. The dry down is ozonic and musky with a touch of amber. I don’t smell any nauseating salty feeling that is prevalent on oceanic/ozonic notes, which is very good as I don’t really dig salty oceanic smell. I don’t really catch the similarity between this and YSL edt, but I do smell a hint of green-ish apple that is not listed (probably it’s patchouli). You can abuse this fragrance as this is very fresh and inoffensive. I thinks this one can be layered with anything with mint notes. Great for gym, outdoor, or fresh out of the shower Great scent, I really like this one. I blind buy it, and you should too

Ooh this one is a keeper. M. Micallef GNTONIC inspired clone with a twist that includes YSL Y EDT dna. I get an icy splash of mandarin, bergamot, and heavy marine notes in the open. In the heart the interaction with lavender creates the sensation of a high-end citrus soap. Into the base we get musky, woody base goodness that maintains its initial citrus brightness. Longevity is supposed to be 4-6 hours but I'm running a 5k this morning on the treadmill so I'm thinking 2-3 hours tops as the sweat pushes projection while dropping that overall wear time. Great summer gym pick.

Refreshing, fresh, ozonic, bit soapy, amber...nice

Just got this in, I will be doing a review on my YouTube Channel - “Scent Class With Mr. D “ soon but I am really enjoying it fresh out the box. Little bit of citrus, but you get these salty oceanic notes and it’s so airy and automatic. I’m really enjoying the lavender in it as well. Again just got it, just tried it on paper and 2 squirts on back of my hand, but again I’m happily surprised with this blind buy. I would recommend for an easy no brainer summer grab!

Smells fresh, soapy and clean, like shower gel or deodorant. Nothing special here. Not a modern fragrance. Safe for office and gym. Poor performance, you must overspray

Just like GameSpitta was saying it's similar to Granada where it's like a more aquatic hawas/invictus twist, except with a bit of mint maybe? Something that makes it feel cold like wet mountain air. A bit too synthetic for me though.

a much better alternative for megamre. more clean, sophisticated, refreshing. very underated. safe blind buy if you looking for a marine aquatic fresh citrus well balanced fragrance.

Tried as a decant. Opens with a decent citrus marine smell. While not listed in the notes, it dries down into more of a juniper type of smell. it has a bit of a funky and cheap smelling dry down. performance is like 3-4 hours with arm length projection at best. I would not get a full bottle after testing

I have had this for 15 days now, it is a perfectly clean, fresh, aquatic modern day freshie. It is not gonna blow you away by how unique the DNA is, but it is definitely gonna get the job done. Smells masculine to me, but not unapologetically masculine. Tonic water, which is not listed as a note, gets more prominent in 10 minutes after the opening. Gives this one a more fizzy/citrusy/bubbly feeling. Not so bitter but sharp, which makes this a little more masculine in my opinion. Perfect for a day out, something like a picnic or a walk on the beach, or even a regular hot day running errands. Ladies would love this profile as well since it gives the vibes of a modern gentleman. It is not sweet or fruity or gourmand in any way, so you would stand out from today's crowd where everybody is going for the edible scents. It is also extremely wearable, I cannot imagine anyone taking offense in this fragrance. Pretty versatile, too. I know I said it is more suitable for summer time but if you work in an office environment, this would be perfect for all seasons.

If the guys at Maison Alhambra renamed this to "Spring Mountain Air," it would pretty much describe itself. Ozonic, airy notes with a ghostly hint of grapefruit and green apple welcome us for the first few minutes. As time passes, soft musks, freshly cut grass, hints of wood and moss emerge, along with some faint florals. The drydown has a touch of sweetness, and the floral notes are more prominent at this later stage. To me, this is how nature smells in a green, mountainous area, maybe there is a waterfall as well? I can almost hear it. Performance-wise, I got around 2–3 hours of moderate projection, with 5–6 hours of total longevity. Overall, this is not a powerhouse, but it's very pleasant, masculine-leaning, kinda meditative in a way: a mountain trip in a perfume bottle.

Misty, oceanic and thick fragrance. I find it very similar in style to Paris Corner 'Moscow Mule', but with no mint or oakmoss , instead focusing more on sweet musk and orange citrus fruits. It's also similar in style to CK One Reflection, which is a bit lighter and has more focus on citrusy-ginger-tea notes. It's oddly therapeutic, cloudy and refreshing but it's not that 'zingy' or tangy like a typical fresh summer fragance where you are met with a blast of refreshment. It's pretty thick in tone and smell, similar in feel to the weight of humid air just before a skyfall or a thunderstorm in the summer. Longevity could be better, but I still really like this fragrance.

Blind buy fail. I have GNTONIC and almost ran out of it so decided to try and blind buy an “inspired version”, what a letdown. It’s closer to Happy from Clinique than anything, which is a great perfume, but to say it is a clone for GNTONIC is delusional. The scent itself feels like you’re at a hotel lobby on the beach and you are smelling a fresh citrus air freshener mixed with the hot humid air and clean body lotion skin. Good perfume but nothing to write home about. If you’re searching for a GNTONIC clone this is not it. But if you’re looking just for a citrusy fresh sweet scent this is a great option apart from the price.

Extremely similar to Granada by Rayhaan which has better performance and is of higher quality . First thing that comes to mind however is Hawas for him, which is also somewhat similar but less ozonic / marine. If you already have Hawas for him, you can pass on this and be perfectly content.

This is pretty much a mix or combination of the likes of YSL Y, Armaf Odyssey Mega and GNTonic. In that line of fresh soapy type scent profile, so nothing wow or special, but you will feel clean.

Honestly, I'm not familiar with GNTONIC, but this perfume has a very similar vibe to YSL Y EDT, with a touch of the original ADG. Very refreshing, simple, and ideal for hot days.

Fresh, clean, soapy, musky. However nothing special. It's inoffensive and would be good for the gym, office etc.
