Oud Stallion

This is like returning back to the stables after trotting through an open field of roses on a brown horse where the air of the warm summer night is still and silent. It's an opulent dim dense aura of leather and oud that's held back from running free by the lightest airy hint of rose that takes a backseat in the drydown. When you think of Maison Crivelli you think of Oud Maracuja, which was actually what was I was hoping to sample when browsing decants, but the deal on this was too good not to snag. My first spray was hit with this light rose and a dense dark barnhouse smell that I recognise as hay and horses (no poo tho, which is good) and I immediately thought, damn I know why they called this Oud 'Stallion' now, I kept it in the draw for a few days fearing it was a bit too wild and primal for my taste. For whatever reason the next week I decided to full send it and spray twice in the morning, keep in mind I thought I DESPISED rose, the juicyness and tart sweetness of the standard rose you smell in the likes of MFK Oud Satin Mood, I would rather not wear. This however, was completely different, it was airy and light and yes it was rose but it wasn't a sharp attack on the olfactory senses and perfectly complimented the other side of this fragrance. The rose takes a backseat almost instantly, true to its name it's an 'opening', and I'm left with this gorgeous waft of oud and leather. This stuff is strong, I even went to the gym and showered and I was still left with small wafts, although I doubt anyone else would be able to smell it on you. However, I find that sprays on clothes last forever like I sprayed once on my neck each side and it's not like I was trying to spray my clothes, but the small droplets that lingered in the air and fell onto my top was enough for me to put the top on the next day and smell the fragrance pretty strong. It's been 2 months since I bought the decant and it is literally empty! Except for half a spray I intentionally left so I can sniff the cap once in a while cause it is that good. Now on paper I really shouldn't like this fragrance due to rose and leather but this fragrance has completely changed my perception on these notes, especially leather, it is so smooth and nicely blended here that its just amazing. I wore it on a night out and a girl said I smelt like her ex who used Ombre Nomade, which I guess has a likeness but this has zero of that powdery element, this fragrance projects and catches attention and compliments. Although I'm imagining this is going to be heavily subject to skin chemistry, RIP fart man and burnt cable man below. 😢 So yeah this fragrance is lovely, whether is garners the price tag of £220 per 50ml, idk cause I've been thinking about buying a full bottle, but I saw a listing on Vinted for £90 for 50ml (no bottle cap) which I didn't manage to buy and was thinking how much of a good deal that I missed. And if you're reading reviews to justify £220 then just wait for a sale or better deal cause unless money is no object the pricing is absurd. Also I'm not sure if I just really am attracted to this scent or whether this scent is unisex as I sprayed my gf's scarf with 5 sprays so she could smell it until we next met, people kept complimenting how good she smelt as she wore the scarf throughout the week, so I guess it works for females, but there was also this flight attendant who smelt pretty similar to this scent and I was like damnnn it smells good and I even asked her what she wore because if there was a duper that smelt that good then I want it, apparently it was from bath and bodyworks but I never got to know the full name so if someone knows which one it is pls say so 😭. That aside I think it works exceptionally well for men, it just radiates an alluring magnetic dense presence of a good smell 👍 Also worth noting that I literally can't smell any other prominent notes other than oud, leather and the background of rose. TL:DR Aura of well blended leather and oud that projects and lasts. Update: I'm looking at getting a FB and I sampled this again in store, from the tester I could detect a slight sour note and rubbery note which wasn't present in my decant - but this soon disappeared and never came back. It's now the next day and I can still smell it on my wrist, absolutely amazing fragrance.

A week ago I was introduced to this oddly enough against my will by an overly-qualified saleslady in Bluewater. She was kind enough to gift me a sample to try at home, despite me not being blown away by the scent on spot. My first impression of it on a paper-strip was not remarkable: typical narcotic oudey rich young Emirati type of scent you bump into daily while shopping in Dubai Mall. It smells expensive and exclusive (especially to those who are not into fragrances); it's evident this house does not compromise on the quality of the ingredients but you'd expect that anyway considering the price tag. Days later I smelled the paper again and I liked how the scent evolved on it, it as it lost what I then considered some of the boozinness and the earthy/rubbery chemical note that overwhelms the opening. After putting it on, I realized the opening is a dark leather boozy oud-rose-wood accord discreetely spiced with some other stuff that is ingeniously made. The rose is very balanced and does not overpower, the leather is exquisite and aged, somehow. I appreciate there is no incense in it, which I feel it makes it better, as many perfumes of this type are full of it. The oud is not animalic in the slightest and sits underneath the leather rose vibing with the cedar, keeping a low profile. As the matter of fact, there is nothing fecal or wildly animalic about this whatsoever. Folks who are complaining about it are most likely disgusted by the saffron-leather mix. The saffron renders it quite boozy and if you throw aged leather in the mix some people could hate that instinctively. I do not. This settles nicely after a few hours and loses most of its bite turning into an elegant dark oud-rose with depth and great architecture. Nothing stands out of the accord and its' perfectly balanced. Conceptually, this smells like brandy-splashed brand-new Ferrari leather gloves after their wearer has gently grabbed his mistress by the neck to give her a goodbye kiss. High stakes, not playing by the rules, abundant and powerful. Puts Sauvage to shame, makes it seem like a teen copy-cat. Tells him not to come to his club, sends him home and pays for his cab too to embarass him in front of his date. I can only compare it with Black Afgano but with less sharpness and more flower and spice and with Terror and Magnificence if it was polished a bit and made proper.

I'm going to write this as quickly as possible without worrying too much about grammar and sentence structure because I want to get the words out of my mouth as fast as I can. The opening of this fragrance is your typical oud. I've only been wearing it for about 20 minutes, so there is not much more to add besides the continuation of the saffron and oud. The reason why I am writing this is because something beautiful occurs around the 10 minute mark and I want to tell you about it. The saffron note starts to dissipate and the jasmine and the osmanthus start to bloom. I have never been to a horse race, but I can imagine walking along a floral walkway eager to get to my seat for the main event. I have to think that was the inspiration for the heart notes. Unless I am ignorant to the adventure, it's the only scenario that makes sense. Throughout its entirety, the oud is persistent as well as the leather accord. There is no getting around it. There is no subtlety in this genre. If you are unsure about where are you sitting in this genre, I recommend you do not blindly purchase this fragrance. I would not call it particularly masculine, but the last thing that comes to mind when I smell Oud Stallion is a young vibrant female. Not even close. It is still very well done and very attractive! I just envisioned smelling this on a visually appealing man in his mid 30s, and I'll be honest, it turned me on. There is something about this fragrance that is masculine and confident and stylish and alluring in the best way possible. And that can be perfect for a female who can ride the line as well. That's all I can say. It doesn't change too much and it is not overly modern. I would consider this a nighttime fragrance for people who want to attract the sexiest people in the room in the slyest way possible.

(My last review was pure yap, I've since bought a FB). Stallion is a light floral smooth oudy projection bomb. Unlike Maracuja or Cadenza where the fruit and sweetness comes through, Stallion is smooth, comforting and masterfully blended - where nothing is too sharp or out of place. The leather accord isn't the usual leather note you'd smell in TF Ombre Leather or sorts, but a blend to create a leathery experience and it works so well with this, dark and smooth is the right words. I usually dislike rose as a note, but this is a rose + oud combo done right. Powerful smooth oud with light rose to give some lift, not anything like MFK OSM where it's actually just jammy rose and gives you a headache. Completely agree with @GGR7, there is no traces of fecal oud in this or dirtiness, in terms of wearability, this is on par w LV Ombre Nomade, very western oud - nothing challenging like an oud-focussed Fredeic Malle or Kilian scent. People talk about smokiness, it's not really a main facet for this fragrance, but its on that level where it's actually not worth mentioning in a review, but its a small supporting nuance. Easily one of the most powerful and long-lasting fragrances on the market, people WILL notice. I catch whiffs of it the next day—even after gym and two showers. This is true 24-hour performance, no exaggeration. Granted, after your first shower, projection dies to about 3ft, but honestly, you can smell it all the time until the next morning. Note: Your clothe and bedsheets will smell of fragrance for days on end. Although masculine-leaning, this wouldn't smell wrong on a girl, its bold and its out there + the florals is really complimenting. Very sexy for both genders. Also AI generated reviews like @fragcentral pmo, thought I would put that out there.

If you Like(d) Oud Maracuja I reckon there's a good chance you'll like this too, it is definitely a little challenging but its a very wearable Oud fragrance, opens up with Saffron and nutmeg with Osmanthus coming in rather quickly a few minutes in, then that's joined by the Rose and of course the Leather/Oud accords which is done similarly to how the Oud/Leather is done in Maracuja. this is very much a masculine scent, its hard for me to picture a woman wearing this fragrance personally but to each their own, it can be pulled off in winter, autumn and spring, but most definitely not recommended in summer, as for occasions to wear this I'm not sure, I'd imagine it would be good for going to a bar and/or an outdoor social event, or even an outing with friends in an indoor place where you want to be noticed but not imperative. Speaking of imperative this is just as stupidly potent/strong as Maracuja so lay off the sprays lmao. when it comes to silage and projection you needn't be worried in the slightest with this fragrance (or Maracuja too for that matter). overall ill give this an 8.6, definitely was better than I expected, if it was more wearable I'd give it a 9.

The cost is not slight, and the bond it forms may not be yours as it was mine. You must encounter it first, let it speak to you, and only then decide. For what calls to one in the Force may remain silent to another. Overall 10/10.

This is my first review on this website after years of being on here and this scent has sent me on a small think piece. I just got a sample of Oud Stallion and Oud Cadenza with my purchase of ingredients 07/2012 and I’ve never smelled any of them, though I love ingredients , I almost wish I got a full bottle of this instead! cadenza is lovely and sweet almost candy like. But Stallion is taking me for a ride in a field of flowers and I think I need in my life every day. Natural lovely scent. Earthy and floral, I get hints of leather in the back, it’s way more approachable than I ever imagined.I need a full bottle immediately. May not be for everyone but I do know smelling it on my skin makes me think anyone would be intrigued at the least. Worth getting your nose it’s so different than anything I’ve personally ever smelled. Not off putting at all. Velvet to the nose, I can’t stop smelling it. This house never ceases to amaze me.

When I first smelled Oud Stallion, I expected leather and oud. What I didn't expect was how human it felt. The best way I can describe it is leaving a club while wearing a leather jacket after spending the night hugging friends. The jacket has absorbed little traces of everyone's fragrance. Warm leather, soft skin, creamy spice, and lingering perfume. There's a creaminess to it that keeps everything smooth instead of rough. The creamy spice smooths everything together, making it feel warm and intimate instead of dark or aggressive. I expected an oud fragrance. Instead, I found one of the most beautiful leather fragrances I've ever smelled. I think of it as luxurious leather that's been brought to life by the people around it.

I already knew and liked Oud Maracujá, but this one - despite being familiar - has the right dose of... well, everything! I tried it in the store, and I oversprayed it, I admit. But, boy! This one delivers! Despite it being an August afternoon in Paris, the weather was cool enough to support this aromatic powerhouse: oud and rose, but contrary to what I've read, it's not basic or a mere iteration of an admittedly successful combo. In fact, it is masculine, powerful and extremely sensitive, and yet animalic. I don't know about horses, but the oud is cuiré, that is, it smells like enough leather to understand the reference, but it is so well balanced that you can't miss it. Summary: exciting, super powerful and balanced.

A great oud. It's basically the same oud as in Maracuja, so if you liked that, but wanted something less fruity, here it is. In all honesty, it's not a blind buy at all (is any real oud?), as I do feel that there's a SLIGHT fecal-ness to this compared with Maracuja (although that aspect of it definitely seems to die down after a few minutes). I think it's just masked by other things in Maracuja, so you don't notice it. If you're into layering, this could definitely be a good base to play with, as the rest of the notes are very subtle (I BARELY detect rose personally...) It feels very...serious. It is definitely artful. Thumbs up.

shocked by how much i love this one. i immediately jump to wanting to describe the dustiness of it, the smell of the dirt track, the outdoorsy heat of animals and rose. teeters on stuffy but never suffocates. so addicting and deep, wants to pull you in for more... this is perfect for date night, i can't think of any other occasion i would really wear it? maybe events with a lot of gravity, graduations/weddings and the like? i think this easily has a place in the wardrobe of a surefooted man or woman. not a safe blind buy due to price point and divisive forward notes, but this is a slam dunk for me.

I was soo into the oud maracuja, so i bought a full bottle, but then i realised i turn more and more towards my travel size oud stallion... and figured out that i love thos one even more. The animalic depth and commanding oud is soo well put, the oud maracuja feels like a perfect tuxedo spoiled with a pornstar martini cocktail. And the oud stallion is the perfect black tuxedo. Iam not going to invest in a full bottle of oud stallion, until i have the oud maracuja. They are really similar in their dna, stallion is jist better. Super equilibrium. Oud maracuka is not this sophistocated.

Agree with @Divinest that it is dark, aggressive and animalic. But My god, I LOVE it!! I get more leather than oud, and thankfully only a tiny amount of the rose middle note, and don't really detect the other florals. I never would have tried this because of all the florals listed, but I received a sample with another Maison Crivelli order (I'm a big fan of the house, except for their Olivier Cresp fragrances), and wow, it is fabulous. I tend to like and wear more masculine fragrances - I could possibly get away with a light touch of this out for dinner.

I sprayed 3 sprays and left my house, every single person that I met asked what is this amazing smell I am not exaggerating. Leans masculine but I wear it as a woman. The scent starts off sharp and strong, if you like the smell of industrial glue you will love this, then after some time calms down and transforms into velvety powdery clean scent, no sweetness detected and probably this is why I like it so much. This is powerful scent, and it is not "girly" and definitely not for the vanilla, sugar and syrup lovers.

As far as fragrances go, this is an absolute stud. So much so, that if you wear this bedore you sleep, you will wake up in the morning as an uncastrated male horse. It’s dense and delicious - everything I want. Yet so smooth and dangerously potent. Will last for about 300 years on clothes and once you marinade in it, you will not want to shower - that’s how good the dry down is. Use with care - if misused may lead to harm and serious injury; or don’t, and knock all those in your wake off their feet.

At the intersection of three fragrances: Falkar ‘s nutmeg top and heart minus the signature black musks. Oud maracuja minus the fruits. Throw in some good old cuir intense by guerlain. Not innovative at all. Yet beautiful. However I prefer all three that seem to have inspired this. Can’t help but feel this was built to sell especially on Harrod’s sixth floor. If u got to get a Crivelli then Hibiscus or the Tuberose. If you got to get a leather then Falkar is possibly the greatest of all time.

Polished confidence with subtle carnality. It reminds me a touch of Penhaligon’s Halfeti, but Halfeti is fresher, woodier, rosier. While Oud Maracuja has the same “oud” note, it is far fruitier, sour even. Oud Stallion is smooth, creamy, warm and floral. The oud and leather are powerful, a touch animalic, but leaning more towards that finished “clean” feel. I definitely smell the osmanthus and nutmeg. Love love love. Total room filler. Not for the faint of heart.

This is something else! Ultimate masculinity in a bottle, for me at least. I spent half a year smelling this from a 2ml sample. Loved so many elements from this scent profile, but also had to adapt to the animalic nature and the powerhouse this scent is. So when I learned to not overspray, and give it some time to develope on the skin, this is so unique and lovely. Superb quality, longevity and sillage. Bought a full bottle, no regrets!
