Prairie

Prairie is pure joy in a bottle. It truly smells like sun-warmed sweet grass—like you’re stretched out in the golden light of an open prairie, surrounded by gentle breezes and blooming wild things. The honied fig and pear blossom add a soft, fruity sweetness that’s perfectly balanced by the herbal freshness of fennel fronds and matcha. And the angelica—wow. This is the most beautifully rendered angelica I’ve ever smelled: earthy, bright, and grounding in the best way. The tonka adds a warm, creamy finish, tying everything together in a scent that’s both refreshing and addictive. Prairie feels carefree, light-hearted, and effortless—like the kind of day where time slows down and you just breathe. Wearing this makes me feel happy, centered, and completely at ease. A true 10/10.

Oh this was surprise love after ordering a few sample sets from MDA! I don’t usually go for green/grassy fragrances, but the fruit and vanilla nance this one out well and would make for a lovely daytime spring/summer scent. Stoked to try more from this house after this strong first sample!

This what I wanted from Angelique noir after smelling the opening. While Angelique Noir turns into a flat vanilla with a faint hint of the beautiful Angelica in the opening this one keeps it going all the way through. Love it.❤️

I sniffed the sprayer and was a little worried this would be heavy, sweet, and way too honeyed for me. To my absolute delight, on first spritz, there is a strong showing from green lemony herbs that I love. Fennel pollen, maybe? Definitely something clean and bright and almost lemony-minty, like basil or really fresh young rosemary. The pear blossom is also present but not cloying or heavy. The tonka and honeyed sweetness is very similar to Cloudbreath but here with the balance of more astringent herbs and grass, it really works for me. I'm not a sweet perfume person and I lean unisex or even masculine in my tastes, but this absolutely works for me. I'm so glad I got a 10mL and not just a little sample. As it dries down, the honey asserts itself, but it's a amber-inflected honey, and enough stemminess sticks around along with some tartness from what I can only assume is the fig that it balances it really nicely. Sadly, within about an hour and a half, the reason why I feared this would be to sweet arises: my skin amplifies certain powdery, resinous, ambered honey notes and this one is an excellent example of exactly that. It's all I can smell at this point. It's a nice scent, but it's also one I have straight from my bottle of Kuumba Made Amber Paste. There are moments late in the drydown where I catch a bit of the sugared violet-orris root from Cloudbreath, and it's what lingers when I spritz this scent on paper, so it's likely others will have a very different experience, but this is what my skin chemistry does to this scent. Still, this scent is absolutely lovely and I bet if I spritz it on my clothes, it will extend that beautiful opening!

This scent is beautiful and a little complex, but easy to love. Super bright green at the first spray, almost photorealistic fresh sweet grass, then the honey and florals come through to balance it out. Smells like a spending a mid-June day as a kid wandering a sunny field looking for honeysuckles. It lasts for hours, too, and the honey note doesn't turn too syrupy in hot weather. In fact, it plays really well with a little bit of sweat and sunscreen if you wear it out in the summer. I do wish the green notes stayed just a little longer, because it does shift mostly to an amber/honey/fig scent after a couple of hours. Still a great fragrance, and at just $55 for a whole bottle it's a safe blind buy.

Late summer days are made of Prairie perfume! This smells like a low-hanging sun that’s shining over a field of waist-high grass. I heard another perfume reviewer say that it smells like golden hour in the late summer. I think both are true. This is unisex and easily wearable by everyone. It’s quite mass-appealing. I could easily see this as a more “edgy” Replica scent sold at Sephora. In looking at the notes, I get the fig and the pear blossom. I get grass. I grow fennel and am very familiar with its scent. I don’t get the fennel note here. I really enjoy this. I don’t think I need a full bottle but I’d recommend it to anyone who loves a green scent on a budget :)

I think they did a very good job here creating something unique. It reminds me of L’Eau D’Hiver. It’s the balance between coldness and warmth. But like LDH, there is something here that smells a little “off.” In LDH I figure it’s the white florals/indoles. Here it might be the Anjelica. I don’t really love Angelique Noir so Anjelica may just not be for me. Im filing this one as really cool; not for me :)

It’s barefoot on the grass summer days in a bottle. Starts fresh and green, grassy with a touch of sweetness. The fig and pear blossom are blended masterfully with the tonka and Angelica creating the most photorealistic scent bubble of a carefree sunny day in a field of flowers. The drydown is a pretty ambery vanilla with a very present Angelica note which I love, almost reminiscent of Angelique noire.

Liking this a lot! Vanilla and grass first on, no fig or floral really showing up to muck it up. Mostly a slightly dusty vanilla with grass notes. Dry down is much sweeter, almost a caramel/chocolate feel, but light and a little powdery. Still, nice!

I’m actually blown away by this. It’s lush, green, sweet, and floral. Settles super creamy on my skin. I got a sample off of the website, but I’m immediately buying a full bottle.

First spray is bright green fig and sweet grass. Settles into a musk, floral goodness. Good summer scent but would love to wear this is winter to remind me of warmer days.
