Impure Thoughts

To me this fragrance is an enigma. It's unpolished yet also polished. It's smoky but not in a dirty way. It is so hard to explain. It's daring yet very wearable at the same time What I smell is some sort of dark realistic vanilla that's been sitting in alcohol and tobacco together in a wooden barrel, with lots of oud. Not barn yardy oud, but smoked oud, like the real thing is burning Infront of me. Its gorgeous. Its expensive. I get the high price point, i just wouldn't want to pay as much for a fragrance, so I'm definitely getting a decant because this is highly addictive and sexy. It doesn't go to the territory of The Night by frederic malle, and no stinkyness / old socks cheese vibes. I find this much more wearable, but also smokier. A tough one to explain. Currently its my favorite one from the whole discovery set

The one from the discovery set I was most excited about, and man it does not disappoint. It opens dark sweet, a little smokey, but less than the others I've tried. Oud and bee wax round it really well together, it never gets too sweet, more like a dark realistic vanilla, the vanilla with the white on it that you just opened. I would say this is a unisex. It's a deep scent, complex and truly beautiful. It's really hard to find a favorite from the discovery set, but this is probably one of them. I'm excited to layer this with devils breath, as DB fells like the center and great paired with all the others. Yes it's expensive, but this is probably one of them I will be saving up for the full bottle.

The most expensive in the line, for a good reason. It is smoky, rich, opulent dried vanilla with Oud and Incense. Slight barn in the opening which then turns into the most addictive Oud and vanilla. Incredibly well blended and easily sit next to Roja, Bortnikoff, HJ etc. It has a bit of middle eastern vibes with something modern in it. It is something I want to put in cold weather, nice long coat and sexy lipstick.

its like a punch in your sense, the oud is very prominent and pugent, feels like it stands out from the other notes, making the composition feel a bit ....unbalanced. But the dry-down, the composition becomes much more balanced and harmonious. 8/10.

Impure Thoughts opens with a sweet, smoky oud right away. The oud is noticeable from the first spray and feels dark and resinous, but the smoke isn’t heavy or aggressive. It has a sweet warmth to it rather than a dry or burnt feel. From the start, it feels dense and full, not airy or fresh. After a few minutes, the tobacco warmth begins to come through. It’s dry and slightly bitter, not sugary, and it blends well with the sweet oud smoke. The oud stays present but becomes smoother and more rounded. I also get a touch of honey here. It’s subtle and dark, adding warmth rather than sweetness. Underneath everything, there’s a dried vanilla note that slowly starts to show itself. In the dry down, it settles into a honeyed oud and dried vanilla combination. The warmth stays consistent and the sweetness remains controlled. It never turns gourmand. This stage is very addictive and I found myself going back to smell it on my skin. Projection is strong, especially in the first hours. It leaves a noticeable trail and fills the space around you without feeling overwhelming. It has presence and confidence. This is not a light or casual scent. It’s warm, dark, and atmospheric. Best suited for evening wear or cooler weather. If you like sweet oud smoke with tobacco warmth and dried vanilla underneath, this one is easy to appreciate. The bottle and cap are a highlight for me. They feel solid and well made, and the design fits the dark character of the fragrance very well. It looks and feels like a proper niche presentation, not generic or rushed. Not sure what I'm smelling (1st time on skin) but it is quite light and sweet. Dont get much oud and no skank. Does not smell laotion at all re the oud or indeed vanilic.
