HEADY jasmine and tuberose are the stars in Compliment. It's a whopping HUGE dose of both and the jasmine is so realistic, I feel like the Santa Ana's have picked up and swept all the jasmine bushes up and have filled the air with their sweet aroma. This scent envelops you, it's potent, cocooning, and creates a very nice scent bubble. If you don't like heady white florals, PASS this scent because it is the definition of HEADY. I LOVE HEADY WHITE FLORALS. So intoxicating, it makes my knees buckle. It's got a lot of weird notes in here but fear not, to me, it's a JASMINE/TUBEROSE BOMB. The other notes are there to just give it the sparkly effect that NL wanted to give the white florals and are in the scent in minute qualities. It does not smell like hay, palmarosa, or eucalyptus, thankfully. I like some unique notes in my heady florals- cumin, incense, sage-but not the ones here! I think by adding those, it gives Compliment a distinction so it's not just your run-of-the-mill white floral. This baby PROJECTS and has EXCELLENT longevity. Well worth the $110 for 50mL!. A gorgeous lush and full Tuberose scent that’s also remarkably wearable. Recently I listened to a Fragrantica Talks with Jeca and John, then ordered the discovery samples from Violet. I’ve only worn Compliment once, but it’s an instant love. Compliment is not too loud or abrasive, a direction some lesser Tuberose centric perfumes go on my skin. I’m not sure I know what Palmarosa smells like, but I am thinking it’s this note that’s taming the composition with an earth element. Instead of feeling like I’ve walked into a florist’s refrigerator, I feel like I’m walking through a flower garden in the early morning. There’s a wetness to this profile. Stunning. I’ve tried wearing this perfumer’s other creations with zero success. But here Nathalia Lorson mixes qualities ingredients with restraint. It makes a difference for me and this one is going on my “to buy” list.

I'm a sucker for tuberose and white florals. I think you have to be for this one. This reigns in the white floral category for me. Along with Abime, it's my favorite perfume from Maison Violet. It is definitely similar to Carnal Flower, but it feels more green and slightly more sweet . . . almost bubblegummy, but not quite. It's gentler and more refined than Carnal Flower. It's absolutely gorgeous and one of my favorite perfumes in general right now. Longevity is amazing (8-9 hours on skin, more than a day on clothes) and the silage is moderate. I really love this perfume house. Unfortunately, Tanagra and Nuee Bleue do not last on my skin at all, but aside from those, this house is stellar and I can't recommend them enough! Good for parties, the office, day, evening, and best for spring or summer.

I have been testing this, along with some other tuberose perfumes. And I think this might be my favorite. It start out very strong for a hot minute. But quickly softens and seems to last a very long time on my clothes. I put it on about 8:00 at night and in the morning I can faintly smell it on skin. It, to me, smells like sunshine! Clear and beautiful. Something about reminds me of when I was very little , mabey someone had some tuberose flowers or jasmine planted in a yard close to mine. This one makes me happy and sunny all over the place!!!!! Not sure if I will get a full bottle, I will certainly enjoy my samples!!! P.s. I got me a full bottle!!!!!! It's too good not to own!!!

This is gorgeous, and it performs beautifully too, but I have to agree with many of the users here that this is very similar to many of the fragrances in the This Reminds Me section. Since I already have some of those, I don't need this, so I will be taking a pass and just enjoy the rest of this sample. Still, it is a fabulous, top-notch quality perfume, and if I didn't already have similar this would definitely be fb worthy. It's an all-around 10 in my book! Edit 7/6/25 - Wore my great love, Perris Monte Carlo Tubereuse Absolute, a few days ago and wearing this today, I honestly have a hard time telling the difference between the two scents. They smell so much alike to me.

Suggestion: sample this without first reading the notes. Then you won't have fixed in your head what you *should* be sniffing. I wore this four days in a row before reviewing and here are my thoughts: -My first impression was 'heliotrope, cookies, Christmas vibe'. It came off as a gourmand to me, and a very pleasant one. I enjoyed this more after it had settled for a half hour. It really hits its stride during the day time, and if perfume is 'aromatherapy' this put me in a festive, joyful mood. It's plain 'pretty' and is as unique as it is comforting. I recommend.

Instant love! This is the light, dewy green, subtle sweet tuberose scent for daytime I've been searching for. The drydown reminds me of Nuit Andalouse by MDCI but instead of that intense powdered candy sweetness, you get this beautiful subtle creaminess which I much prefer. My partner also liked this upon first sniff and usually he has to warm up to my Jasmine and tuberose mixed fragrances (he prefers just jasmine). I'm falling in love with Maison Violet Parfums, all their frangances are elegant/and or charming with a slight vintage twist.

I'm a nutter for white flowers and this obsession led me to try dozens of white flowers scents. If there is a new one, I'm there. I love Melodie de L'amour from Dusita, Truth or Dare by Madonna, Fracas, of course, Carnal Flower, bien sure. This is a stunning scent, not linear in my humble opinion. There is a tropical vibe here as well, not so much the bubblegummy white flowers. It reminds me of my beloved Melodie de L'amour but less sweet somehow, a little of Carnal Flowers yet warmer. This is a gorgeous scent and I'm in love!

Upon spraying, wow! Just wow! It certainly gets my compliment! What an absolute beauty! It’s the kind of tuberose that I adore! Green camphor, fleshy rubbery tuberose, sweet dewy jasmine, bright fresh neroli and gentle smoke in the background The floral bouquet also gives an impression of gardenia flower Dazzling and stylish! Big big love! Yes I see the similarity to Carnal Flower by Frederic Malle and Tubereuse Absolue by Perris Monte Carlo, which isn’t a bad thing at all as I highly regard these two

Nathalie Larson worked some magic here. Respectfully, this is far from your average white floral as some have suggested. Compliment is an extremely well executed composition. One of the best in class and I have manyyy white floral dominant fragrances that I compare & contrast it with. I will take this over Carnal Flower and Fracas any day of the week. Absolutely sings on my skin in the summertime. Excellent value for money too.

One of my favourite floral scents. A very easy to wear, sheer tuberose - light and summery without being too girly or young. Similar to Carnal Flower but a bit fresher and greener (likely from the violet leaf), and with less overt sexiness. A very easy reach for summer and appropriate for pretty much any occasion. Really love it.

one of the best tuberoses on the market. carnal flowers is many steps back in my opinion. splendid mix of tuberose green and jasmine softened by a wonderful palmarosa. perhaps not innovative, but excellent performance and excellent quality / price ratio. 9.5 / 10

My favorite, softly rounded, sweet jasmine perfume.

Excellent quality, kind a Carnal Flower, but at a fair price and available in a small 8 ml decanter and the beautiful 75 ml bottle. This fragrance is exquisitely balanced, to deliver the classic refreshing joy of white flowers, but not in your face, and the eucalyptus make it fresher, softer and more elegant than Fracas. Is winter now, and this wonder cannot bloom, but I have a new bottle and couldn't resisted to wear it today, refreshing many times, I think that is a little soft but for sure a treasure for summer. The only complaint is the long lasting green note, that last too much for a green note, is wonderful for the opening, but with that enormous lasting make the fragrance fake and smell synthetic. I have the same problem with Tuberose Couture by Pierre Guillaume. Please, perfumers, make the base notes musky, woody or resinous (as should be)

I was looking for a realistic Jasmine scent and this would be exactly that. It definitely includes that intoxicating quality of jasmine at night, when the scent is at its most powerful. But it also has a very vintage feeling to it, probably because of the powdery notes that automatically give it a very mature edge. It can go a bit “Madame” depending on the day, and in summer it is so strong I would nearly recommend against using it as it can be quite overpowering. I wanted it to become my signature but I’m afraid it’s a little too intense and lacking in freshness. But if you need some comforting in fall/winter and seek a strong, creamy jasmine scent this is your best pick.

I wore my bottle of Carnal Flower all day yesterday, then today I found this sample of Compliment I didn’t even know I had. It is so similar to Carnal Flower that if you tested me with them in a few weeks I might not be able to tell, but for now I know that I prefer Carnal Flower. The eucalyptus note in that one really makes the perfume complete for me. I think I am also smelling a little moth-ball smell in Compliment which I don’t like. My bottle of CF is an older one though so if there’s been a reformulation I don’t know. If you love fresh Tuberose with a bit of greenery, I don’t think you can go wrong with Compliment!

Clean, crisp, green, polite, but still somehow lush tuberose. Underneath the white petals there is an anchoring bitterness, I agree with others who call it medicinal although I don't personally get any camphor or menthol per se. My skin tends to turn tuberose fragrances into root beer, but with Compliment this unfortunate issue seems to come and go. Some days I don't really get root beer at all, while other days that aspect is more prominent. I do find this similar to Perris Monte Carlo Tubereuse Absolue, but Compliment has more of petals and less of stems and leaves, so the overall effect is warmer.

I wear this when I want Carnal Flower without any hint of coconut... It's more delicate than CF with an airier, lacier quality that sometimes makes me wish I'd just put CF on instead, depending on the weather. I've had my sample for 2 years and only recently ran out, so... I'll only commit after my bottle of CF is done as the two are so interchangeable. Sketch and Compliment are my 2 faves of the line :)

From website: Top Notes: Orange Blossom, Palmarosa, Freesia Heart Notes: Ylang Ylang, Jasmine, Tuberose Base Notes: Benzoin, Vanilla I would go as far as to describe this as a Night Jasmin (would that be Sambac?) soliflore. To my nose it is definitely the star of this show. Tuberose comes in later and stays in the background. Very good performance and a really elegant vibe with this one.

Thick, white florals with a green, slightly edge. Possibly best described by comparisons to some other tuberose staples: Compliment is less voluptuous and blatantly outgoing than Melodie de l'Amour, more friendly and inviting than Carnal Flower, a little less girly and sheer than Do Son. Might just hit the spot for you if those others are not quite it.

Compliment is a nice green tuberose perfume w/ a slight mentholated note that give a bit of an aromatic quality to the perfume. Hawthorn adds a bit of milkiness and a slight funk to the bouquet, but I don't find Compliment overly animalic. It is animalic for beginners. Creamy bouquet of slightly green and milky white florals. Nice.

The polite version of the slutty Carnal Flower. It is a beautiful composition, but after getting a full bottle I regret not going for the original beast of CF. Despite most notes being there, it's "the angel lost its wings" category.

This is the standout from this house, in my opinion. Lovely tuberose, reminiscent of Carnal Flower and Durga. I'd like to smell them all side by side.

I smell jasmine, jasmine, jasmine. It kind of reminds me of the honeysuckle bush that grew in my backyard. Very sweet and floral. I like it.

For tuberose lovers. This perfume is very great if you like white flowers (tuberose with a touch of jasmine). The sillage and the longevity are excellent! Very feminine to my opinion. Romantic? Delicate? Elegant? Yes! I don't know why but more for a mature woman. 5/10 (I am not a huge fan of tuberose..) In this brand, I prefer: Nuée Bleue, Tanagra and Cycle 001

This is not dissimilar to Carnal flower. While I hate CF, this is more bearable to me, probably because the sweetness of the tuberose in CF is amped up with a coconut note that is gag-inducing but totally absent here. This one smells much closer to real tuberose which I'm quite familiar with and is a cheaper alternative to CF.

A niche copy of Terracotta from Guerlain. Maybe a bit less powdery to me but full of white flowers. Quite disappointing knowing that the main feeling and performance are the same as a 60€ Guerlain perfume... Not worth neither the price nor the nasal experience.

Got a sample today and it I totally smells a bit spicy but turns into Carnal Flower . Carnal Flower ( which I have and hardly use ) is too overpowering and in your face . This is more subdued .

Opens with a minty spiciness, and evolves into a floral creaminess. Not particularly into floral scent, so cannot dissect different flowers. Overall, it's ok, but nothing special

A bombastic white floral that manages to be generic and urinous at the same time. I don't usually get a pee smell from jasmine scents, even the heavily indolic ones, but this one took me there for whatever reason. I found this scent cloying, but not in a synthetic way. It's more just that it's very loud and very sweet combined with a sour hay note that made my stomach turn a little bit. I couldn't detect any camphor on my skin.

I got a sample of this and my first impression is "Heeeelllllllllllll no!" It's very jasmine heavy and goes into a very seasoned, sophisticated, mature woman direction. There is NOTHING youthful about this scent. The notes sounded like a well rounded blend: green, Tuberose, animalic, sounds good right? It's wrong 😕 so wrong, and loud, reminds me of mothballs, or scented bug spray. Oooh wee! No way.

Intoxicating, in a bad way. It is beautiful but at the same time overwhelming and headache inducing. Had to wash it off. Probably I would like it on someone else. Persistent longevity, skinscent staying even after washup.

This is a bomb of white florals : Tuberose and Jasmine - and that's all what I smell. Really linear smell. If you like white florals go for it, I don't like it its headache inducing . Also 100% feminine in my opinion.

creamy tuberose, wonderful on paper! However on my skin, it becomes too creamy and simultaneously green. The combination makes me a bit nauseous... it really must be the violet leaf!! Sad

I love florals and vanilla and I'm talking niche aswell, not just the celebrity fragrance kind but I genuinely don't understand how people can like this; it's so animalic (although I don't see it being described as that on the website) and gross that I had to get another perfume and spray it on top while having a disgusted look on my face. If you're looking for a floral vanilla I'd recommend Mugler's Alien Goddess or Burberry Goddess Intense. Side note about Burberry Goddess by the way is I've heard good things about it and some preferring it over the intense version so you'd have to smell it for yourself in a perfume shop UPDATE 05/07/25 (Day Month Year) It doesn't dry down as bad but that animalic smell is still noticeable to me

All I smell is medicinal Eucalyptus and camphor? For the first 15 minutes then it dries down to a barely there weak floral. I had such high hopes for this one. So disappointed. Had to layer it with two other perfumes For it to be wearable since I didn’t have time to change one morning for work. I been giving it numerous benefits of a doubt and chances. It’s just not Good unless it’s layered to my nose. Since I always just take a loss and don’t do returns I’m keeping it. Against my will. *sad crying emoji*

Perfect spring tuberose! I am always eagerly awaiting the newest releases from Maison Violet, they never let me down. Both reviewers below me have hit this one on the head. Green, freshly sweet tuberose and jasmine duet for me. Very sunny and immediately likeable. Slightly buttery and fleshy tuberose, but fresh jasmine never lets this become too creamy or gourmand. It's not complicated, but just constructed so beautifully, it sings. Nothing harsh about this one. Compliment has this amazing quality of being smooth yet still green. It doesn't have the best staying power, but it makes sense given how bright of a fragrance it is. Really great for this warmer weather. Thank you, Maison Violet, for offering samples of Compliment at an affordable price :)

I love it too. This is a very beautiful white floral with leading tuberose/gardenia. It starts a bit green harsh, terpenic, but just for a moment, then it settles into a fluffy (not powdery) gentle tuberose-white floral fragrance, you will smell the rest of flowers after a while, especially jasmine towards the end. It is not aggressive, it has gorgeous opening. Palmarosa has a fresh rosy scent so it softens everything already from the start. The fragrance is inspired by the old one but there is absolutely nothing old smelling in it, it is tuberose fragrance many people would love. Violet leaf is a great inclusion, it freshens it up, makes it a bit wet in the top. I ordered the whole bottle ;o)

This is a journey. It starts out with gorgeous white florals to my nose. Like the buttery aspect is there but it's also fresh and aromatic. Then on my skin it starts to go more green and the eucalyptus comes through with the other green notes. There's a bitterness that keeps it from going really just straight white floral. It's really interesting. As far as white florals go, I'm more in the camp of buttery, creamy ones with some spices (I love Jaipur Chant or Moon Bloom). Maybe on clothes that bitter aspect wouldn't come thru as much? I'll keep spending time with my sample.

To be honest, this one is smell like a real gardenia for me, super realistic fresh gardenia that I found in my country (Thailand) even it is not on the list, but in hot weather and on my skin this is the pure gold for a white floral lover. But I can understand why it’s too much for someone because it smell like a tons of white flowers in a national garden. If you love tuberose, gardenia and jasmine, you have to try this even the price is so high but you’ll love it for 100%. I’m a fan od Diptyque Do Son, so I recommend you to try this. It’s fantassssssstic!

Today I smelt all my tuberose perfumes again, including a sample of Compliment. It is on the green, crisp end of the spectrum, very similar to natural tuberose but it gave me a huge headache. It is very similar to Do Son by Diptyque, so if you have that, you don’t need Compliment too. I think I actually prefer Do Son, it is gentler and feels better blended. There is something a bit scratchy in Compliment, which perhaps others have identified as ‘aromatic’. I usually love aromatic perfumes but this falls flat on me and leaves me running for my ibuprofen.

Nathalie Lorson does it again! I received a sample of this in a recent perfume order and when I looked it up, I was excited to see it’s by one of my favourite perfumers - Nathalie Lorson, the same nose behind many of my favourites, including D&G Sicily. I have tried many a tuberose perfume, but this is my favourite. It’s unmistakably tuberose, but not sickly sweet. It’s a very fresh, crisp tuberose that would be the ultimate summer floral fragrance. Will be buying a full bottle.

A heavy tuberose dominate fragrance, a white floral bomb really. On first sniff, it instantly reminded me of Zara's Tubereuse Noir...but more elegant and refined. I purchased all 8 of their fragrance sample vials for roughly $20, and shipping from Paris to Los Angeles in about a week. If you want to get an approximate vein of this fragrance, go to Zara to sample TN. Or order the samples, it's a great deal and order comes with blotter strips.

This is quite a long-lasting, buttery white floral perfume. I like it! I was shocked not to see Gardenia listed in the notes, because to me this smells like a very realistic, fragrant white gardenia flower with some jasmine in the background. I even applied my Forever Florals Gardenia roll-on (so far the best interpretation of a no frills gardenia flower that I’ve smelled) on my other arm and yep...there is a similarity.

This is the child of Carnal Flower and Moon Bloom! Think Moon Bloom minus coconut and spices. Now think Carnal Flower with the eucalyptus turned down and the tuberose is the same fleshy, buttery, natural smelling from Moon Bloom, but fresher. That's it. An amazing scent, very wearable. I wish it would last longer, but people seem to notice it on me even when I don't. I'm on my third sample!

-Hell no. Cloying from first sniff. -Compliment is not worth any compliments at all. -It's a messy floral blend that's two notches below 'generic'. (Generic being borderline wearable.) -This? Sorry, but it's utterly unwearable. (-) -Psst! Maison Violet isn't a violet-perfume centric house. "Violet" is the surname of the founder. (Pronounced: Vio-lay)

I do think it's like Carnal Flower, but less bold. It's camphorous and medicinal. The florals are sweet and delicate. I think it's good but maybe not unique. Think of like a really expensive spa soap. When I'm not trying to pick out individual notes, I'm not loving it because it smells a little mature to my nose.

Hmmm. Not a fan of the animalic Tuberose smell. The white florals are just a bit overkill with no mixer if you get what I'm saying. I like white florals with a bit of a chaser. They start to smell too animalistic when grouped in this way, like the pollen from the flower. Great quality though.
