Fragrance Review For Aura By Marilyn Miglin Top Notes Bergamot cypress mandarin orange Middle Notes Jasmine sambac water lily marigold Base Notes Patchouli sandalwood benzoin vanilla I have the eau de parfum spray which I purchased from Fragrance X. This is beautiful floral Oriental with heavy vanilla. It is very similar to Coty's Vanilla Fields which I wore years ago but haven't worn it in a long time and have been unable to find it anywhere. This is a nice substitute. Aura opens with natural bergamot and citruses. Very fresh and delicious, not too sharp but definitely big on citrus as it opens, in the same way that Shalimar opens. Citrus for days. The citrus begins to fade away and the scent reveals itself to be floral with jasmine sambac, water lily/lotus and marigold. The jasmine is very noticeable and the marigold. However I found that the marigold was heavier and it was very fragrant and golden yellow in it's color/texture. The sandalwood's aroma mixed with incensed creamy rich benzoin is what appears at the end of the performance of this fragrance. It's very dense and a tad smoky, warm and delicious. This fragrance is selling on Fragrance X and it appears to be a reformulation but it's the same as the first release. There is also an Aura Musk pheromone which sells to both men and women if you find musk sexy. This is a very different animal and smells of a mixture of vanilla and musk almost like Musc Ravageur. But I do love Aura but only because I miss Coty Vanilla Fields. This is a very well made vanilla and worthy of being in any vanilla lover's perfume collection.

Aura is a wonderfully sunny, orange scent with dreamy florals flitting in and out. The floral notes in this fragrance are very tame; nothing sharp or screechy here. In particular, I'm picking up on a subtle honey sweetness from the jasmine sambac. For the other florals, I find that the water lily adds a breezy, airy quality without leaning towards the aquatic, while the marigold offers a delicate musk. I'm surprised that the juicy mandarin orange remains much throughout the life of the fragrance; I'm used to citrus-leaning notes disappearing quite quickly. It pairs well with the creamy sandalwood and vanilla background. This is feminine and pretty, youthful even.

this opens very green and bright with lots of cypress. i am also getting citruses, water lily, marigold and a tiny bit of sandalwood. it's bright and green with watery florals. it smells very sheer but my skin amps up the cypress so it almost leans a bit trad. masculine for me. i finally get a tiny hint of benzoin but not much.
