Essence Mandarine

A true masterpiece for a citrus fragrance. I really thought this would be my least favorite fragrance in the entire line, as I do not tend to be a citrus girly outright, without something solar, floral, or otherwise special going on with the fragrance composition. With this scent however, WOW, it was love at first surprised sniff. It doesn't smell like a boring citrus, but something bright and almost watery. It is light and refreshing, but there is a deep earthiness that roots it. Without this deepening aspect to the scent, I don't think it would have stood out to my nose at all. The mandarine is green but still very sweet, with a watery and aquatic element that gives it complexity, and the earthiness giving it compelling substance, almost like the trunk of a beautiful fruit tree. It is such a multi-faceted fragrance, and truly genius for a mere citrus scent that can otherwise be so basic and forgettable. The entire Marste line is a treasure. and this one shines very brightly. I bought a full bottle immediately. ETA: updating this post after trying the full bottle of Essence Mandarine for several weeks now. Do not be fooled by thus being a citrus-based fragrance. The projection and silliage is just, WOW. This is much more than a skin scent, or anything close to Jo Malone. At first, the potency of the fragrance did not seem to linger too long. However, now I know that was a completely false impression. The scent lasts all day after re-spraying only twice throughout that time. The scent is so strong, so unique and mysterious--like something a mermaid would wear (LOL) (a comparison could be Nest Citrine, but more ethereal).. This has officially become one of my signature scents and I will always be repurchasing. Run don't walk to try this fragrance. This is something a sophisticated nose would highly appreciate. For reference, my other signature is Nest Indigo.

A nice one-note citrus scent. If you like citrus but don't want a lemon/lime smell this is a nice option. I imagine that marste made the essences to be layered, and I've found that works best.

This is a very basic citrus fragrance that smells terrible. Don’t waste your money.

That green mandarin mixed with the kick of zesty lime is a freshy perfume girls dream!😍 This perfume is so happy and sparkling to me.🤗 So fresh, clean and juicy with a touch of natural sweetness. I do also get a touch of spice from the ginger. then in the dry down the musk comes out to play and gives this perfume a creamy feel🤤🍊

Opens up pretty rough and strong. Slowly settles down into like this sweet citrus smell. Very nice & subtle. You could layer this or wear it alone. Reminds me of Wulong Cha not the same smell but definitely in that same dna.
