En Prise

I get that initial blast of Ginger and Bergamot right away. There's saffron there, as well, but it's not trying to be Bakkarat 540. It's lending a bit of sweetness there aided by the sugar. After a bit when the initial top notes give away, you can really smell the greenness coming from the Cassis/Black currant leaves and the geranium. I'll check back in later to report in on how long this last, and what the dry down turns into. First an observation though. The greenness in this of the Cassis is doing the same thing that the tomato leaves are doing in Blockade. It's very nice and not at all as off putting to me as what the green note does in Aventus. This is fresh, clean, and completely inoffensive. That's not to say it's a bad thing. This could be pulled off in the office easily as being out and about on a spring or summer day. The brightness does somewhat subside in the dry down, however I'm not overwhelmed by the base notes during the whole wearing experience. You just kind of realize the Cedar. Vetiver and Oakmoss were always there playing a supporting role. This, like Vieri, lasted a good 5 to 6 hours. I'd say that this one is good for a day out, or a date night, in the office definitely, but as for season En Prise would be more suitable towards the Spring and Summer times of year.

En Prise is my favorite from Mind Games so far. Up top, the saffron and bergamot paired with a subtle sweetness from the sugar create a fresh, optimistic opening, and the vetiver and oakmoss add a refined, earthy structure that keeps it from leaning too sugary. The overall effect reminds me of a cool spring day near a waterfall clean air, greenery, and brightness. It’s also impressively wearable across most occasions if you don't over do it, and it’s a good office pick since it doesn’t come across as harsh, loud, or offensive. Friends around me read it as more earthy than I do, but either way, it’s a really distinctive fragrance and an easy recommendation.

Picked up a sample after smelling it a few times in store and imma be real, The first time I smelt this I loved it. I hadn’t looked at the notes at all and the first thing I thought for some reason was mango like even more mango then blockade. But now that I see that it’s grapefruit I can kinda tell. Honestly this is my favorite from the entire line you get a little bit of spicyness from that ginger ooooooo baby. I most likely will pick up a bottle but I gotta wait for a sale because while it is very very good it’s not worth $375 but if you were thinking of checking this thing out please do get a sample it smells amazing.

Every nose is different and scents are subjective, so what you smell may not be the same as what I smell. With that, I can honestly say I enjoy this fragrance and I pick up what smells similar (not identical) to Blue Talisman probably because of the bergamot and ginger notes. Blue Talisman is in my top 10 fragrances, so for me En Prise ranks very high! 8.5/10

The most sporty of the mind games fragrances in my opinion. Citrus and wood stand out here with black currant and bergamot hitting my nose the hardest. Very unisex and matches its name perfectly. I love wearing this one to work because it gives me an uplifting focus. It lasts a good while but I find it’s not as strong as the other mind games fragrances.

On my skin the opening brings out the bitterness of the saffron and the oakmoss. Too bitter! That dies down after about 30 minutes and I’m left with a nice interesting blend with the bergamot sugar and geranium balancing out the bitterness. Once that dies down I can enjoy the vetiver and oakmoss mix. Tough opening but a solid fragrance afterwards.

Beautiful opening that I wish would last longer. The ginger and saffron are so light and sweet and spicy. The dry down is nice as well but unfortunately fades within a few hours on my skin and I have to reapply. So, not the longevity I would hope for with the price point.

Opens with juicy grapefruit. As it dries a lovely Vetiver appears. Not too sharp but just right. Beautifully blended and earthy yet reminds me of br540. I chose this over the forward and blockade because of the blend. But I’ll be getting the others eventually. I love it.

My favorite daily frag in the soulmate collection. Bright, fresh, and addicting. It can be used for all occasions. Signature scent worthy. Like a lot of mind games, silage and projection is dependent on the number of sprays. Don't be afraid to add a few more than usual.

This is nice. I get Blue Talisman the first hour, then something closer to a more masculine leaning BR 540 further in the dry down. I've been on the fence about both but En Prise does them well but still with it's own identity.

Damn. Any fragrance that has saffron in it y’all have to mention BR540. It’s nothing like it. This is bright, clean and slightly sweet. Such a beautiful fragrance

What can I say about this scent.. It’s delicate! It’s effervescent.. one of those you could start your breakfast wearing it on the table. It’s green, almost fougere kinda of type, despite sugar and saffron being part of the composition don’t worry about if you are not after a sweet fragrance because it’s not where this scent goes. It’s chypree and fruity at the same time. A different type of deliciousness. Feminine leaning? No.. it is fresh, a bit bitter, it’s not creamy or buttery or any of those atributes.. it reminds me off a bottle of champagne right after open.. that bubbly bright vibe. It’s extremely inoffensive, kinda one of those you would wear if you are going to meet and bond with someone you’ve never seen before. I think girls can have that as a signature scent for sure. Day use, casual use, summer spring winter this is pretty much a ‘to go’ option. In terms of longevity.. well.. you may want to push harder on the trigger to get a good longevity... as I said it’s inoffensive, don’t worry if you end up splashing out.. projection??? I believe on fall/ winter it will stick around for longer than wearing on those summer hot sweaty days... my honest opinion.. Does it worth buying it? Yes! I’ve got a totally different scent on my collection I’m stoked for having it!

Cassis, ethyl maltol, and ambroxan are the main ingredients I pick up on. There's also likely veramoss, hedione and a super amber like ambrocenide. It smells similar to BR540 because BR540 is almost entirely hedione, ambroxan, ethyl maltol and veramoss. I'm talking about actual ingredients—not notes. Notes are listed by the perfumer and may or may not actually correspond to the actual ingredients. I think this perfume is pleasant, but it feels hollow. It's sugary sweet, fruity, lightly green and watery. It has a musky marine ambroxan base. It's inoffensive, but a bit boring. Kind of like a shampoo scent. The opening is the most interesting and then it quickly turns into this light watery green fruity scent. 6.5/10.

So far I don’t get the baccarat comparison, but it does remind me of something like D&G Devotion mixed with D&G Light Blue Extreme, which is odd, but at the same time it reminds me of a House of Sillage fragrance if I’m not mistaken, Whispers of Truth, but of course it’s not identical; it’s just similar, but this ain’t something I would reach for, but that can charge with time. Right now I’m in my Sweet Woman era lol, but if you like Bond No. 9 Greenwich, you should like this one. But I think this is a nice daytime scent you can’t go wrong with it it’s a fresh scent I get the Bergamont and ginger and a little bit of sweetness and of course a little woodiness.

I bought a 5ml decant to properly test it. I'm still testing it but to me this his BR540 with a lot of Ginger and Bergamot. Different enough, but you totally get the BR540 reference. It's fresher and spicier due to those Ingredients. I really like it but at times it gets a little too medicinal to me. Not sure if full bottle worthy.

A more masculine take on BR540, which shouldn't be worn by most men imo. En prise opens with a very realistic, unmistakable grapefruit note. It's sugary like BR540 but dries down into this patchouli/mossy earthy undertone that balances it all. Very smooth and could be worn all year round. Very well done. Not paying $375 though.

I personally don’t smell anything like BR540 in En Prise. This is very green, fresh and gingery rather than warm, deep and ambery. The spice of the ginger and maybe the vetiver is where I can see people drawing the comparison but they’re very different to me. Very nice, fresh, aromatic, wearable, easy.

A linear but quality scent that is actually quite evocative of BR540 in its saffron tinged sweetness, if a little dialled back. The catch for me is performance - on my skin and paper I find it average. Perfectly unisex.

Ginger, Citrus, Saffron and a hint of sugar. This is one of the better Mind Games entries for me. For the price there is better alternatives I would choose instead, but this is a good one.

Opens like a sweet moscow mule. Found the dry down lovely as well. Juicy orange and vetiver. One of the more enjoyable fragrances from this house.

smells like sparkly grapefruit in the opening it’s super nice and the woody/green notes slowly start to come through later on but stay very tame

Smells great but suffers from the typical Mind Games tropes of poor projection and longevity. Definitely not worth $370. 6.5/10.

I agree with @scentasart’s take, though I wouldn’t rate it a 7/10. For me it’s closer to a 5/10. This isn’t an original DNA; it has been copied endlessly since MFK Baccarat Rouge. En Prise is Mind Games’ spin on it, much like Blockade was their answer to the Aventus formula. The saffron is dialed back and the sugar pushed forward, giving it a sweeter, slightly more citrus forward edge. It is perfectly unisex, but the green woody base pulls it toward the masculine side and reins in the sweetness. I’m not impressed; I don’t hate it, yet I don’t love it either. I just hope that with a full wearing I might find even a moment of enjoyment. To be honest, this DNA has never been for me.

Reviewing a sample from 2025. En prise was launched in 2023. Sweet and fruity. This opens with a sugary fruit accord (orange and blackcurrant). Saffron is barely there .As the geranium peeks through the aromatic woods support the drydown. The opening is too sweet for me; with the added fruit it is unfortunately reminiscent of juicy fruit gum. The dry down is better balanced with the added mossy woods. The vetiver is not detectable. Quality- just average for niche 3/5 Unisex Performance- weak to average 2/5 Light and uplifting for those who love sweet and fruity scents. Safe and versatile. 7/10

Bright sugary ginger scent that's sharp but not in any headache-inducing way. Leans slightly masculine but still definitely wearable for me. However, there's minimal projection, and it doesn't last long at all. Would like it much more if it actually lasted longer than three hours.

nothing like baccarat rouge, not sure what people are talking about. its far more fruity and fresh, a unisex summer perfume to my nose. does this make anyone else's throat swell up a bit?

I totally see the BR540 comparison surprisingly, its like br540 made into a mens fragrance, but not quite the same, still very different but good just not my style.

Opening smells very similar to Melancolia by Liquides Imaginaires, costs twice as much. Dries down to a generic men's cologne scent. What's the point?

Who ever said this is a heavy woody fragrance CLEARLY has never even smelled it. I’ve been wearing this all day and it is shockingly good. That bergamot, ginger, and vetiver combo at the top is sparkly and bright and keeps you coming back. It’s like when you smell something and it slightly tingles the nostrils but In a Fun effervescent way. Like a fresh can of sparkling water you open and smell It’s like that but slightly fainter. Then you get that saffron and sugar accord that is sweet and delectable. It’s almost a candied sweet. Even as it dries I only slightly get the cedar accord. What remains is that candied vetiver freshness as it stays throughout the entire fragrance. It’s not gourmand sweet but it is also not barely lingering in the background. Very well balanced and blended extremely well. This is one that can be worn anytime but I feel like high heat might make it dissipate after a few hours. In 65-80 degree weather this could be a statement piece and one could turn some heads with. I wore it 90 degree 60% humidity weather today and still got a solid 5-6 hours out of it even after doing some light workouts. So it has some staying potential.

I did not think of Baccarat similarities at first smell, then I started scrolling this forums feedback and I can see why it came up. My first impression was " BEAUTIFUL" but it also knicked that area in my brain where I got wrecked by my least favorite saffron offender, Bade'e Al Oud Honor and Glory. Sorry for those who love that frag in advance. I found it and Baccarat to be unwearable. But this is wonderful. Not a total saffron bomb but just enough and so well blended that it actually harmonizes the composition. On me, this isn't as earthy as it is sweet and spicy. As much as I hate Middle Eastern fragrances for the spices etc, even though this carries a hint of that DNA, it is wearable, and extremely pleasant. I would consider this a safe blind buy.

It is literally insane how many people review frags without understanding that SCENT IS SUBJECTIVE... and that everyone’s nose is different. To me this is like a much more tame BR540, right in between the EDP and extrait. I would primarily wear this in the fall/winter, leaning winter. With that being said, everyone is entitled to their own opinions. Now repeat after me folks “My olfactory experience is solely mine and exclusive to me! I respect others opinions on this subjective matter!”

No kidding. It has nothing to do with Baccarat, or Erba Pura! It’s quiet interesting what people can sniff sometimes lol The fragrance is animatic. I can definitely smell amber wood aroma molecules that are added to the most current fragrances. If you have tried Vanilla Powder by Matier Premier, it’s a mix of that scent profile with memo Irish leather, or Kaff Tiziana Terenzi. Interesting blend overall

I do not get BR540 from this. I get bright, juicy, bittersweet citrus, spicy ginger, vegetal cassis, and warm soft woods. I like it. Very wearable but not generic. Edit: up close, this definitely has some distinctive characteristics. In the air around you, definitely BR540 vibes. My wife asked me if I was wearing MFK when I finally wore En Prise for the first time. 😝

The 'reminds me of section' is absolutely crazy and just shows how many clueless people use this platform... How the HELL can a fragrance be similar to - Blue talisman, BR540, Elysium, Trajan, Tales from zanzibar, Arabians tonka AND Blockade lol ???? All of these are nowhere near similar to each other in any way except BR540 and Trajan

This is very nice. The cassis note is so realistic and sweet...oh this is so nice! it feels so juicy, sweet and natural! the bergamot and ginger add a sparkling effect. The saffron is not very strong. I think this might be a winner. What a lovely scent. I don't get Baccarat Rouge. I think this gem is going to my wish list.

A LOT of cassis. This is Tales from Zanzibar without the tropical guava notes. The sugar in this really completes the fragrance, but the thing is it's not 'impressive'. It's a very nice, safe scent. Honestly good for the office. But I cannot justify spending the money on something that smells just 'good'. 6.5/10

An explosion of juicy citrus, ginger, and saffron kicks off the fragrance. This energetic opening settles into a sweetened vetiver base that tries to extend the scent’s longevity. Overall, the perfume feels citrusy and fruity, almost tropical, resting on a warm foundation.

Saw it seemed to be a light aromatic citrus and sprayed most of the 2ml tester vial on myself before going out. I was a walking saffron bomb. Quite nice when applied normally. Overpriced but that’s sort of what you expect from Mind Games.

This is BR540 with a bit of a citrus twist. Quite an interesting idea, but I do wish the citrus part was a bit stronger so that En Prise could stand apart on its own instead of being another baccarat inspired fragrance.

This is beautiful. Basically a hybrid between Tales from Zanzibar and Kajal Lamar. En Prise has some ginger which takes into a slightly more versatile territory than both of the above, making it wearable all year round.

Very nice drydown but I’m not a fan of the opening. Something about it smells like a cleaning product to me but it fades into something much nicer with time. Not full bottle worthy for me

strong opening with the top notes that quickly settles sparkling and bright green, en prise leaves a subtle bubbly feeling in my nose. i wish it projected more!
