Agrumi di Sicilia

Despite Ms. Patricia Weiser's comments on how this is a scent only for the madames and girls of the world, this scent can quite EASILY worn by men. In fact, it holds quite a lot in common with 4711, Neroli Portefino and other pitosporum and bitter orange fragrances. Fragrances designed for either gender, not designated for one. This fragrance can be worn quite easily by men, regardless of how women feel about smelling this on their husbands. This fragrance has the capability to be masculine or feminine, depending on who wears it. Because, lets face it, 9 out of 10 fragrances can be called as such if the public doesn't know what you're wearing. No 5, Opium or Poison anyone? Anyway, this fragrance opens in a superbly realistic citrusy way with bitter orange and perhaps a bit of neroli and orange blossom shinning through. It stays that way for a while before the true aspects of Neroli Portifino and 4711 shine through. Holding more than half of its notes in common with the aforementioned scents, it's no shock that they would remind of both. Once it goes into its second stage, the floral musk one, it gets ever more beautiful and can remind one of one of those olden day soliflores that everyone waxes lyrical about (not without reason, of course) and then it dries down to a soft musk and a slightly noticeable sandalwood. There's a soft spiciness wafting in and out during this entire affair, perhaps pink or green pepper, that creates a little bit of a dusty sensation when inhaled for a little bit. Makes me sneeze, but I guess that's what I get for sniffing too attentively. One of my favourite citruses, and perhaps the only one I'd use regularly. Quite an exquisite scent for the price range, and I'd perhaps pay up to... maybe $120. (When you look at the Allegorias and some of the other 100mL scents you can buy for under AUD$120 rrp, this is pretty shinning)

Agrumi di Sicilia is a staple in my wardrobe. I have been using it for years and I have repurchased it every time I finished a bottle. The images it conjures up in my head are as follow: Somewhere in Tuscany or in the south of France, a beautiful lady effortlessly stylish and chic is going to the outdoor market in the village. It is early in the morning but the sun is already heating up the atmosphere and people are wandering the narrow cobblestone streets just relaxing and feeling joyful. Yes, that is how I feel when I wear this fragrance, JOYFUL!!!!! Agrumi Di Sicilia, for me is part of a lifestyle rather than just wearing perfume. It doesn't require you to think about anything. It is fresh, clean, and uncomplicated. You just know that when you apply this fragrance in the morning after your shower, you just get on with your day. Whether you are exploring the city or you are lucky enough to live in such village. The opening of Agrumi Di Sicilia, on my skin, is all about the bitter orange and the tangerine. It is of course citrusy, fresh and a little bit spicy. It calms down quite quickly and then the orange blossom and Jasmin join in bringing along with them softness and a little sweetness to the composition. In the dry down the musk comes out but it is very soft and by this point I notice a slight powdery feel to this fragrance. I enjoy this fragrance very much. It is clean, it is soft, it is light. There is no sillage but for me, this is perfectly done because I see it as an addition to your higiene routine throughout summer time.

This is a very light, breezy, citrusy summer scent. Simple, but oh so European - something you'd find in the little corner pharmacia in Venice and popped in with your shopping as a little treat. The bright orange and tangerine leap from the bottle and settle quickly into a lovely mix of citrus, soft white florals and something a little sexy - a quiet whisper of musk. It's not harsh or in your face, you won't leave a heavily fragranced trail in your wake. But for $20, you will feel fresh, clean and ready for a bright summer day. I'm so happy I stumbled upon this - there's something so decadent about a using a European full body spray and this one's a winner. The citrus is realistic and maintains it's integrity - no cat pee here. The florals are pretty and well balanced, and the musk adds just a touch of sexy. This is marketed as unisex, and it can absolutely be worn by a man, but I find it feminine and beautiful and I'm sure that I'll go through a couple of bottles of this by the end of summer.

I love Agrumi Di Sicilia. It's my go to in the typically hot, humid climate I live in. It's always refreshing, light enough to spritz liberally anytime. People do comment on how lovely it smells on when I've recently spritzed it on. I've found it wears well on clothing. Where it has better longevity than on my skin. Nonetheless, it's a firm favourite in my perfume stash. A timeless classic, fresh citrus, with just a hint of floral notes. Not to mention, it's a steal in Australian pharmacies at $20 a 100ml/3.4oz bottle!

This is recommended for both men and women. Men, don't try it. It's very sweet and flowery. I love it on myself, but would not want to smell this on my husband. This is a lovely summery frgrance. I wish I could read all the Italian reviews.

It is a very classic Italian scent. It can be easily in the same class of ADP Blue Mediterrane. The notes are more complicated than its book of citrus range. Its floral soapiness is timelessly elegant, perfectly unisex. It will be my staple

I love all Monotheme perfumes! I personally adore Agrumi di Sicilia and on my skin it lasts a few hours! I love layering it with Orange Soleia (Guerlain)! It’s a great combination and it brings me joy when I wear them both!

Agrumi di Sicilia is a sweet orange floral perfume. It's more feminine than masculine but still unisex. It has a moderate to strong sillage on application but within half an hour the projection is intimate to moderate and it fades swiftly. The opening is tangerine and bitter orange for the first ten minutes. Then the orange blossom, jasmine and pitosporum appear. It's a sweet citrus with florals at this point. The musk appears after about 45 minutes but it remains a sweet orange floral. It starts to fade about two hours in and it's more or less gone shortly after four hours. Not surprisingly, considering the notes, I would say this is suited to spring and summer and the day. I also think it works well as a pick me up on a winter's day. It's a "like" for me. It's a bit like having Tom Ford's Neroli Portofino on a budget. While NP is more of a soft Neroli, it has the same kind of vibe as this. However, if I were asked to recommend a citrus from Monotheme, I'd point people towards Mandarino or Verde d'Arancia before I chose this. It's pleasant and I shall enjoy my bottle but I won't have a second one.

I’ve tested several of them and picked White Gardenia and Agrumi di Sicilia. One can try and find an affordable delight out of this range to suit their own preferences. They are very cheap (at Chemist Warehouse), but don’t smell cheap. One can spend much more and not get much better. The cute retro apothecary bottles and boxes are crafted with greater care than one would expect for the price. White Gardenia, perhaps, resembles EA 5th Avenue, but better. It seems to last longer on skin (for about an hour or two) than on fabric. As to Agrumi di Sicilia, it smells better in the air than on the skin. They’ll be used as a body or hair mist, as well as a room freshener. I sprayed both over the bed, and it was like falling asleep in a garden. PS: I’ve reconsidered using fragrances when going to bed since this review. Who knows what’s in them? Better to reduce your exposure at least when you sleep. You are not conscious anyway and your smell receptors need a break.

Soapy 4711/Neroli Portofino. Soapier, less sharp, and more modern version of the classic neroli eau de cologne 4711, & it's inspired-by fragrances such as Tom Ford Neroli Portofino. Argumi has a little detergent/laundry soapiness, which gives it a cleaner feel. There is also more noticeable orange smell but not too obvious; hidden under the neroli and soap. If you are a fan of such fragrances or neroli, this is worth a try, and it's quite affordable. I don't enjoy that line much, but I enjoyed Argumi more than the others I've tried. That soapiness and orangish feel makes it less barbershopy & more of morning & after shower scent. Warm weather scent. Unisex. "Like"

Firstly I just love the bottles these Monotheme fragrances are presented in. This perfume starts with an explosion of citrus which just makes you want to take a deep breath to enjoy all this Orange glory. Once the top notes burn away you are left with a bitter orange and even though it is not in the list there is a very spicy floral Bergamot. This is a great all year round perfume to wash away those winter blues or playing outside on a spring day in southern Italy. I find it lasts longer if you spray it on your clothes. Would smell equally delicious on both men and women.

It's a very realistic citrus, I bought this after I bought a lot of oranges so I can definitely tell. When it dries down, it smells very earthy but still citrusy to me though. The earthy smell reminds me of when my flatmate left food too long in the open and mould started taking over. So, because of that memory, I don't have a good association with some parts of the scent. The earthy smell emerges when I spray it on my knitted sweaters but on cotton, it smells fresher. It's also a nice air freshener.

Agrumi di Sicilia is a pleasant citrus fragrance that is fresh rather than sweet. There is a bitter orange and orange flower vibe but it is a quite subtle fragrance. It feels very summery to me. If I want to add some depth I layer with Monotheme Mediterranan Coast (to introduce some woodsy notes) or Monotheme Verde d'Arancia (which is complementary but a bit greener - imagine snapping an orange tree branch).

Gorgeous fresh citrus for spring and summer!!. The first time I've tried this brand. Lasts longer on clothes but it's not expensive, so I think it's good value. Unisex and it smells natural, no harsh AromaChemicals, which is a huge plus. I want to explore some of their other offerings now.

Straight from the bottle this is delicious. Doesn't last though. It is great for a pick-me up on a grey afternoon. I have been layering this with my Chanel No.5 to freshen up throughout the day. Does this crime carry a terrible sentence?

Nice straightforward citrus scent. I don't get any of the white florals, but I do get the sweetness. The sillage and longevity are very weak, but the cheap price point does mean you can reapply with reckless abandon.

I found this fragrance quite soapy on my skin. Reminds me of those beautiful soaps from Italy with the fancy packaging. I do like this but wish it lasted longer

A very simple and authentic orange citrus blend. The juicy freshness of these fruits works without much detectable sweetness. The white floral notes do not perform strongly, instead blend together to form an almost musky quality. Not a complex scent, fairly straightforward and summery.

Don't get me wrong, this smells fabulous. Super citrusy, feels like you just peeled an orange in the room. But this wonderful smell disappears so fast that it's basically not worth it. Such a shame because we could have been so perfect together.

AdS starts out as a basic citrus. This recedes into a very feminine floral powder mix. Initially, I agreed with Patricia in terms of wearability. It just seemed too feminine for me to wear consistently. I thought it was nice, but I didn’t really think I could pull this one off. Since I couldn’t find anyone to trade this with I just decided to wear it at night at home. To me, the top notes were fine. It’s what I would consider “basically” unisex, though I think it leans feminine. It’s fairly unoriginal - not in a bad way. It’s just that citruses’ are a dime a dozen. Orange is basically the opening note. And it just fades so much from there. I also noticed some musk with some very light jasmine. The middle notes are just very light overall. After wearing almost the whole bottle, I’m starting to think a man can wear this. But, it’s not something I’d purchase again. It smells good right out of the bottle for a few minutes but all in all it’s just not the type of citrus I want to wear.

I loved this scent in the store and for the first few months. Then I found the scent changed and not nicely. The fruity light element has gone, the woody notes have faded and I'm left with overwhelming burnt orange with nothing to balance it any more. Yet I can't bring myself to throw it away. After reading some of the comments I might try it in hubbys wardrobe if he likes it.

Longevity is longer than 4711, its also sweeter. Very cheap though. Good as a refreshing EDC, but thats it. Not sure if it suits men. I am a woman and think it is better for women.

This is very heavy on bitter orange oil on me. Definitely more masculine leaning than feminine to my nose- be aware of that if that may bother you. I ended up giving it away

a greenish, bitterish, aromatic slightly floral and soapy take on citrus. unisex imho.

I'm a 28 yrs man and I wear this perfume since.. about 10 years ago. was my first perfume. I think I'm kinda into citrus. I had some other good perfumes but this comforts me most, and so versatile. it's not a best perfume I have but like many other citrus based perfume it suits in most situation, style, weather and things. oh except I go around and trying to petting some street cat. cats hate this. don't know why. I can say this feels feminine, but not like really feminine like someone smell this scent on boy/man and think 'oh that's gotta be his girlfriend's perfume'. more like 'oh. he's kinda gay' kinda perfume. doesn't matter to me. I don't look like a masculine anyway and I never tried it. and I don't think any 'bro's out there will try this so no problem. a reliable perfume. cheap. not too unique. nice to have one.

This is a pretty unusual fragrance, one that seems to depend on weather and other factors. The opening is a very sweet citrus blast, a particularly good summer fragrance, the dry down I found better suited to Autumn months, which is a prominent musk propped up by white floral notes. I can't really explain the longevity, which varies, as mentioned earlier, on a few occasions I've found it barely noticeable after an hour, other times I seem to still get it after four. For the price I think it's super value, my advice would be if you like creamy, musky white florals, this is a solid choice, don't be put off by the bright and fruity opening, it passes pretty quickly.

An excellent cheapie. This costs $24.95 in Australia but is regularly on sale. It smells fresh and natural, and while the lasting power is not brilliant, it's cheap enough to respray regularly. I layer it with Jovan Musk for women and the combination last at least half a day. I get a lot of compliments about this fragrance combinations. Perfect for hot weather or stuffy rooms. An excellent choice to wear to bed int hot weather. Similar to an eau de cologne but with slightly more complex and slightly better longevity.

I bought it online, hoping it will smell like Chanel Biarritz as voted. I like the fact that it's less floral than Biarritz, the citrus smell is more orange like, while Biarritz has more lemon-lime which I prefer. Generally I think it's a bit more masculine, but not too much. Both of them are incredibly weak in longevity and sillage, also it's impossible to layer it with another perfume because it will disappear completely.

wore this nonstop ages 16-19, really affordable whilst also being genuinely lovely. def the reason i adore anything orange-scented now. my bottle is soooo expired and i probably wouldn't repurchase in favour of other citrus scents but she'll always be special to me.

The top is pleasant but the citrus disappears in under 30 minutes, leaving a soft sweet creamsicle base. Very weak.
