Blue Sail

I was beginning to wonder why this fragrance was not on fragrantica for the longest time lol. If you are someone who is tired of the modern day “blues scent” and would prefer rather a more classic style of “blue scent” then this could be a possible option for you. I must say I almost have the entire Nautica line and I have to be honest this could easily be my favorite. At this moment in time it’s winter and I am wearing this today, however this is classified as more of a summer or spring type of fragrance. This fragrances for some reason has that nostalgia blue feel to it as if it came out of the 90s and early 2000s which A lot of my favorite fragrances came from that era. This is definitely a more masculine clean man in a white T-shirt and jeans and maybe some Chelsea boots type of vibe for a very easy going guy lol, and I must say that’s is my style and personality. Even though I wear this for any occasion to give you the best idea to imagine this fragrance it would definitely fall under the casual/Office/ GYM category. I always find myself wearing this to the grocery store, the gym, hanging out with friends and family etc, pretty much all of the simple things in life. I even wore this while playing flag football and one of my teammates had mentioned “someone smells really good” in between plays lol. So I should also say I am certain it is a crowd pleaser and does well with the ladies. To wrap it all up I would recommend this to the simple guy who enjoys simple things. The man that is laid back yet confident and masculine. Scent: 9/10 Silage: 7/10 Longevity: 6/10 Projection: 7/10 Price: 10/10

Initially I blind bought a 15mL bottle at Burlington for around $6-7, saw the good reviews and figured what the heck. I actually really enjoyed it, found myself wanting to spray a lot more and realizing that the travel size just wouldn't be enough juice. Eventually I went back and got a 100mL bottle for $17 which I think is a very fair price for what you get. It smells like what I think the note breakdown of Nautica Voyage would smell like: fruity-fresh and therefore a little sweet in the opening, with an aquatic feel, average performance. The difference between this and the actual smell of Voyage is that with Voyage I get a strong melon-cucumber-aquatic accord (Calone smell), whereas that is absent in this one. If I want a blast of Calone I'll just reach for Kenneth Cole reaction, it makes Voyage less appealing for me. Blue Sail, on the other hand, sticks with a clean apple and doesn't venture into melon-water territory. This one is watery but not as salty as something like D&G Light Blue Eau Intense, and no seaweed like you would find in Bvlgari aqua. Just clean, generic, a little sweet, and a little musky. It's nice, if you can find it under $20 I think it's worth it. For me it's a guilty pleasure. EDIT: This one started projecting like crazy at the 5 hour mark when I started doing some physical activity indoors (2 minutes of CPR for a life support course).

Wow, what an underrated cheapie! This would just be a like, but I had to upgrade it to a love, after taking in the fact that the price of this is cheaper than buying yourself dinner. It starts off with a blast of citrus Sprite. It then gets soapy, and I’m talking about a nice solid bar of white soap. There is a touch of breezy ozone with an aquatic very lightly blended throughout, and it has just enough sweetness to keep it entertaining. If you’re looking for a summer freshie and don’t have niche expectations then this is a great budget buy.

I've been wearing Blue Sail by Nautica for many years, and I'm consistently impressed by its qualities. It has such a clean, vibrant scent that lasts all day long, even during workouts and long days at work. It smells so good that my friends and family often comment on it. Plus, it's very affordable and lasts so long that I'm able to make my bottle last for many months. It's a great way to smell great without breaking the bank. Overall, Blue Sail by Nautica is one of the best colognes I've ever used and I highly recommend it.

Glad to see this added after requesting it months ago! This is essentially Nautica Summer Voyage rebadged as part of the "Sail" series. And it's a fantastic cheapie freshie. A blast of green aquatic notes make it perfect for warmer weather, although I threw it on this morning in January too. Do not shell out the cash for Summer Voyage - just drive down to your local Burlington and pick up a bottle of this juice to scratch that itch.

Fresh, clean, invigorating, affordable aquatic fragrance that smells way better than its price would have you think. I love the clean opening and that soapy, slightly spicy dry down. Definitely one of Nautica’s best fragrances and so underrated. If you’re looking a bright, embracing summer freshy that’s an easy grab and go daily and won’t break the bank, look no further than Nautica Blue Sail.

Very good smell but the thing is the sillage is so small you have to shove your nose to the neck / hand to smell it. I really just sprayed a little at the store from a brand new tester bottle, and can barely smell it. Is there any stronger version of this?

Although admittedly I like Nautica Blue better than Nautica Blue Sail, Blue Sail is also a fresh, uplifting fragrance that, to me, embodies intelligence and clear-headedness, and can be worn on any occasion from date nights to beach vacations to formal parties to after the gym to around the home or office. And for such a low price, why not wear it everywhere? A good start to your collection, or an easy addition to your existing one, it's cheap, unisex, widely appealing, and has decent performance, so it's almost certainly worthy of a blind buy for yourself or someone you know, and worthy of a dumb reach when you don't know what else to wear. That being said, I will say that there's probably more niche, better performing fragrances for you out there that are more worthy of your signature scent and that will garner you more compliments.

Nautica blue sail is a good fragrance for its price. I really like the smell, however it has a few downsides that I noticed. First one is that the longevity is absolutely horrible. I apply 8 - 12 sprays in the morning before school but by the time I get to school the smell is gone. I ask the people around me if they can smell my fragrance but they all say no even after the come in close for a smell. The other down side I noticed is that it has a very synthetic smell. But what can you expect for 20 dollars

A good shower gelly fragrance for when you want to be unassuming and just smell like a man out of the shower.. going to the hardware store, a sporting event, a fishing trip, or to the bar to drink with some buds. I love niche and high end designers, but its nice to have this cheap tool of a fragrance in my arsenal.

It is a fresh clean scent. You smell like you've come out of bath squeaky clean and fresh with this.It can be an everyday scent too but it disappoints in its performance. It's not long lasting and mostly is a skin scent. You have to keep on reapplying for it to get noticed!

Doesn’t last as long as regular Nautica Blue but I actually like it more. I think the green apple and water notes make it smell juicy and I love that. Best blind buy purchase I’ve made in quite a while and a solid choice for a beach vacation.

It's honestly pleasant and does the job for me. Fresh, slightly sweet, perfect to put on after the shower and right before either going out to run some errands, or settle down for the night before bed. I like it, it's great for its price.

Nautica Blue Sail is my third from the Nautica house. My first, was Nautica Life, their light blue version of Bleu de Chanel. My second was Nautica Voyage, a classic cheapie and quite possibly the most popular Nautica fragrance (either that or Blue.) Nautica Blue Sail I got a slightly used 15ml travel bottle in a swap. I actually forgot I had it though. Nautica Blue Sail is fairly close to Nautica Voyage. And before you say, "What am I smelling?" I will explain. Nautica Blue Sail has all but one shared note with Voyage. It has the green apple and green notes in the top; and musk, amber and "oakmoss" in the base. The added note was the water note in the mid, though due to the types of floral notes in Nautica Voyage's mid, it gives off a watery vibe (lotus flower and mimosa.) Voyage also adds a slight woodyness missing in Blue Sail with the cedar note that IMHO gives character that Voyage has but missing in Blue Sail. Nautica Blue Sail performs as good as people say the newer Nautica Voyage does, meh. I get 3/4 hours from it tops. It works best in spring or summer days. I am not one of those that get bad performance from Voyage. Nautica Blue Sail only works for a few situations. It is a day scent for spring and more so summer. It works for casual settings, running errands, work and going to the gym. Voyage IMHO can work a bit more though isn't as good for gym wear (at least on a fresh spray like Blue Sail) Honestly, Nautica Blue Sail is OK, but very redundant if you own Nautica Voyage or Tommy Bahamas 2013. Both of those honestly work better than Blue Sail does. To me, it is a more unisex Nautica Voyage with the removed cedar note. The cedar note added enough to make it special. For this reason, I rate Nautica Blue Sail a 5.8 out of 10 and a like. Meh performance, and being redundant in the brand itself and it isn't even a flanker of that fragrance? Pass.

Wonderful cheapie fragrance for what it is. Fresh out of the shower scent that is great for a summer day. Obviously projection isn’t great but the longevity is good enough for what I and I think most people would use this for which is to wear to the gym and the same for any other Nautica fragrance for some. This is a great fragrance for if you’re only worried about not smelling bad and are not looking for any attention.

Green and Aquatic, it smells like a fresh shower. it is a good choice for $20. I like it better than Nautica Voyage but the Original Nautica Blue is better than this version. 4/10

Do you like s fresh scent that lasts 10 minutes? this is the one for you...I've heard it retails in some places for $20,00. Nice clean apple smell but literally for 10 minutes if you lucky... Don't even waste your money... wouldn't pay more than $2,00 for it.

* Nice fresh aquatic style cologne with a strong powder and sea salt drydown * Distinct Nautica Voyage DNA, but richer and smoother * Very affordable * Great for the Spring and Summer seasons * Lacks the nuance of the far better Natica Voyage and Nautica Blue Ambition * Strong longevity is offset by poor projection and sillage Nautica scored a major hit with their superb Voyage which punches far above its weight. Being no fools, a lot of their fresh Blue fragrances follow the same DNA. Blue Sail is a very rich fresh cologne, with a strong seal salt and herb opening and baby powder and citrus on the drydown. Blue Sail is very pleasant and very affordable and a good choice. 👍 However, it isn't very nuanced and is outshined by both Voyage and its inexpensive brethren Blue Ambition which are both much better. Blue Sail is very much a beginner's fresh fragrance. It's a tremendous value and leans young. It's appropriate for men in their teens up to their 40's. Appropriate for Spring, Summer and Fall. Not appropriate for formal occasions or intimate dates, but otherwise pretty versatile. Do note that while longevity is quite strong, projection and sillage are quite weak.

Blind buy. Smell apples but overall just smells cheap.
