Nautica Blue

Bought it as my first cologne, save your 20$ and get literally anything else. The 1 and only reason anyone should ever buy this is for the pool or the gym because it has extremely light projection and it is short lasting but also very fresh so you can use it as a quick run to those places. It smells like the pool with a hint of sunscreen. You also could use this for the pool or the gym because it is cheap so you can just wash it off anyways and not have to worry about it. Overall, I regret blind buying and most likely will not do again. I personally like it and I am okay with it, but there are simply better options on the market. Overall, 7/10 fragrance because it is like 17$ at ross so you can't complain about it smelling like scented water when it is cheaper than water. Update:This fragrance has grown on me a lot. I still think there are better options for 20$ like nautica voyage or even a really small 1oz bottle of versace eros runs about 29$, but I have actually learned to really like this fragrance. When I first bought it, it just smelled like synthetic shower gel with ocean water, but now that it has macerated I can actually smell the notes, the top note isn't synthetic it still isn't the smoothest thing in the world but it doesn't hurt to breathe in, and it actually smells pretty dang good. The biggest thing for me that has made me actually really like it is the peach note that suddenly came out of no where with maceration. I got this fragrance I think in like February, and the performance, smell, longevity, smoothness, everything about it has gotten better. I actually think if you let this thing macerate it is a damn good fresh out of the shower smell for anyone, its got this timeless aspect to it for being a fragrance that came out so long ago, but still suitable for teens. I like this fragrance, its not for everyone, but it's for me. The sandalwood and musk in the basenotes makes it reminiscent of invictus parfum almost, which is my most favorite fragrance of all time. It's like Invictus if it had a sweeter, grittier 2000's twist to it. would I recommend it to someone? Not if you don't like scents with character. If you are a le male elixir glazer or a swy intensely warrior, then no this fragrance is not for you. But if you are looking for something simple and dumb reach that isn't gonna break the bank and no one else is really wearing these days, go for it. Even if you don't like it, its 20$ and a pretty cool bottle for a collection. Overall (after maceration) scent:8/10 I enjoy this scent the peach in the top note makes it really unique to other freshies and it breaks down nicely into sandalwood and musk which I am a fan of. 2 points off because at the end of the day its still slightly synthetic which no amount of maceration will take away. Performance:6.5/10 decent siliage decent longevity nothing to write home about. Like 4 hours out of this so definitely an out of the shower start to your day kind of thing so that way it'll wear off by the night and you can wear your versace Eros or ultramale types of scents for the night. Atomizer is bad and my cap broke when I dropped the bottle. can't expect much for 20$ Value:9/10 not much beats a 20$ 100ml cologne in general and this thing smells pretty damn good Overall:8/10 I'm happy with my purchase and I only have 1/5 of the bottle after like 2 months. that alone sums up how I feel about it. Its not that Ive used it so much because I like it that much, Ive used it that much cuz its so dumb reach I wear this to school sometimes, the gym, out of the shower and at formal gatherings with small numbers of people so that way I can just smell nice and not offend anyone (ik its not your typical formal scent but everyone likes fresh fragrances and my only other option is cdnim which is way too beast mode for formal gatherings) :)

Back in the early years of my marriage (before I was even married) my husband bought me a bottle of this. He has a good 10 years on me, so he’s experienced some of the more classic and known fragrances that people talk about that I’m admittedly naive to. But when he first gave it to me for Christmas he commented that this cologne is meant for me. And after five years and after finishing one bottle, recently getting my second, I couldn’t agree more. This is the definition of a bright, airy cologne and every time I compare anything that is airy, light and clean, it’s compared to this immediately. Everything about this is nice, it has good sillage, it lasts a pretty decent time and even sticks to clothes decently, and best of all it’s usually fairly priced for the size of bottle you get, and on top of that, is a usual sight at places like Burlington and Ross so you can usually get a pretty good deal on it. This is definitely one of those fragrances that I need to have in my collection at all times because of its sheer versatility. The only gripe I have is that this scent is SO airy and light that it doesn’t quite feel right for winter. But that’s probably more on me, the seasons do tend to change my mind and tastes. But other than that, I don’t think you can go wrong with this.

Follow up to my last review. After around 6 months of maceration. This stuff went from my worst performing frag to absolute beast mode. I slept in this fragrance and it is still projecting off of my arm. Don't get it twisted however, fresh out of the box this stuff is a skin scent after 5 minutes and goes away after 30. It is also much more synthetic when you first buy it. Post maceration review (6 months) Performance:8/10 projection could be better but longevity is eternal Smell:7.5/10 it's a creamy peach smell in the top note and then drys down to a woody soap. It's good, just an extremely common DNA that doesn't have much depth to the smell. Value:10/10 buy a bottle and use it enough for air to get into the bottle and then just let it sit for 6 months it's worth it I promise Fire out of shower and gym smell

Two major points of contention on Nautica Blue seem to be the longevity and the scent itself. My take on both aspects: Longevity: 6/10. Longevity is not great, I admit, but with a relatively heavy application of around six sprays (neck and chest) I easily get a fragrance that lasts most of the day, albeit as a skin scent. What seems to help is that Blue has a nice woody backbone to it; this is not an airy, ephemeral scent. With six sprays or more, I am completely satisfied with Blue's staying power. Scent: 7/10. An admittedly ordinary but well-crafted aquatic-type scent, definitely for warmer weather. I get the impression that I've smelled this fragrance before, but is one I am definitely glad to be in my collection.

It's Christmas time...but I'm in Cambria. The days have been rainy, but today the sun is out. I brought Nautica Blue on this trip and Tommy Bahama Set Sail St. Bart. It was the right thing to do since we're near the coast. Today I present Naitica Blue. It goes so perfect in this cool weather. The cleanliness of this frag brightens up ever so slightly with the underlined sun tan freshness. It's like a gelled cool wave with a clean cotton white linen scent to me. Perfect low profile scent in cool weather. Definately spray at least seven sprays in different areas of the body in the cool weather. Doesn't scream look at me. Just enough for a search and find, hide and seek kind of juice.

Guys on here reviewing this like they’re Siskel & Ebert....you realize 99.9% of people buying this have no clue what Fragrantica is. Even if they do, they really don’t care that you’ve decided to show how fancy you are by letting everyone know this isn’t a cologne you’d be caught dead in. Stick to the niche fragrances that you are so very famous for reviewing. The scent itself is better than the price and its performance is quite indicative of it. Let the peasants continue to find this on the discount racks and enjoy their $12 bottles in peace. The sun will still rise in the east and set in the west and you unfortunately, will continue to be a douche bag.

This fragrance is more than great for it's price. Clean, fresh and appealing. I'm tired of people complaining about how cheap and generic it smells... If you are looking forward to smell "natural" then I suggest rubbing some fruits or flowers on yourself. This fragrance smells blue to me, definitely has some fruityness but I don't get any clear pinneaplple or peach notes. I live in Central America, and here there's only dry or rainy season. This cologne lasts long on my skin (4 sprays around my neck last about 6 hours) with a very decent sillage, in this weather it works fantastic considering it's price. Worth buying? Of course, affordable and pleasing.

Blue the fragrance. If the color blue had a specific scent associated with it, it would be this. The note breakdown could just read "blue" and I would nod my head in agreement and not think about it at all. I understand that there are fruity, floral and woody notes in this thing. It's so synthetic that I can barely pick out any real notes. All I get is "blue" and "chemical." Regardless, this stuff smells great. I love it, it reminds me of a specific time in my life. I adore this. It's cheap, it's safe, it's easy and inoffensive. It smells like soap, it smells clean. It's good. My answer to "should I get this?" will always be "why not?"

I read some comments about this fragrance, and I do not get the same vibes. In my personal opinion, this is an aquatic, soapy, fresh, sweet but not clogging, unisex, and uplifting fragrance. I do not know about the sillage, but I can tell you that it remains long-lasting on my skin and forever on my clothes. Great price for a fragrance that you could use on any occasion, It performs better during warm weather, at least is when I have been using it.

Nautica Blue EDT Another great fresh out of the shower scent by master perfumer Maurice Roucel. Initial blast is too citrusy however, it becomes better atfer 30secs. Fresh, Clean & Aromatic that is mass appealing. Perfect for summer, beach, gym, office, hot and humid days. A very versatile & blind buy safe fragrance for all ages. Bang for buck!

Id say this is Voyage's not spoken about older brother fragrance. I think personally one of the best CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP type fresh fragrance ive smelt. I get wayyy more compliments wearing Nautica Blue than wearing stuff like Versace Pour Homme, Prada L'homme, and more! Its a perfect fragrance for summer outdoor days or by the beach!

Opening was slightly harsh, but then it settles in to a very soft aquatic base. Perfect blind buy. The performance might not be top notch, but given the price point and aquatic notes, that's pretty much expected. Great for gym or any short term needs especially in summer or humid conditions 8/10.

There is nothing not to like about this EDT. For me it's just a pleasure to the nose, from the opening and after, not sophisticated, but still smells freshy and great! Just really don't stay for long on the skin, at least I'm not aware to it after 3-4 hours.

Its smells very fresh, floral, fruity, and woody, like a deodorant or shower gel, it just doesn’t perform but for 20$ you can’t really ask for more they should really make it stronger 7.5/10

Synthetic and cheap. I love the smell, it does not last long. At one point I get a creamy vibe from it. For $10 this is awesome. Fresh, blue (who would have thought hehe), and clean.

This is the first blind buy cologne that also happens to be the first cologne my dad bought me. Bought it at Marshall’s for $20 and was a great deal. Soon as we opened the package and smelled it my dad asked if we could return it, too late now. I didn’t love it at first and wore it a couple times then stored it in my drawer for maybe a year. I wore something and didn’t wear anything on an off for the year until two months ago. It is currently averaged around 25 celsius degrees and this cologne works great for this weather. I loved it after wearing a cinnamon-floral spicy cologne all winter. It’s a light fruity and woody cologne that you would only notice hanging on someone else’s neck. This does start working very well when I’m in the gym or doing physical activity and my skin warms up. The strong sandalwood immediately starts giving off and it is overall real pleasant. I put this on about 7 in the morning and can barely smell it 4 in the afternoon. Good enough for school. Also a plus because this doesn’t choke people (*cough* kids who wear 10 sprays of Dior Sauvage Elixir, I hope you burn.) Love this because it doesn’t offend people but you also don’t smell because this covers it up. If you see it, buy it. It’s at least very good for refreshing yourself if you smell off or going to be in physical activity for a couple hours. Note: This does start off smelling like toilet cleaners, but let it sit for half an hour until all the alcohol and the opening water lily is gone, and that’s when it gets good. 8/10

I have both Nautica Blue and Nautica Blue Sail, and I can easily say that I like Blue much better. Blue is also a fresh, uplifting fragrance that, to me, embodies intelligence and clear-headedness, and can be worn on any occasion from date nights, to beach vacations, to formal parties, to after the gym, to around the home or office. And for such a low price, why not wear it everywhere? A good start to your collection, or an easy addition to your existing one, it's cheap, unisex, widely appealing, and has decent performance, so it's almost certainly worthy of a blind buy for yourself or someone you know, and worthy of a dumb reach when you don't know what else to wear. That being said, I will say that there's probably more niche, better performing fragrances for you out there that are more worthy of your signature scent and that will garner you more compliments, but this one's an oldie but goodie to me. Heads up, I've got a couple canisters of the body spray, message me if you'd like them!

Smells identical to blue shower gel mist. It's funny how so many fragrances have the "sport" label. But don't even smell sporty. That title however would perfectly suit Nautica Blue. A fresh, clean, kind of bland dudish sporty cologne. I swear people can be sheepish. You can see multi comments using the word synthetic to describe Nautica Blue. Admittedly Nautica Blue is bland, and doesn't smell like it has natural notes. Like strong fruits or a floral accord. But it's still fresh, clean, and enjoyable. Not harsh and synthetic like a ointment, bug spray, or artificial fruit notes. It's the perfect cologne for when you want to smell crisp and clean. But not smell overly extravagant for a casual situation. Great gym scent, great for outdoor activities, or guys night, when you want to smell good but not in a weird way. You get about 4 hours of good use before you have to reapply. But for $20 it's a great cologne for casual wear. I don't see what the harsh criticism is for. 🤷🏿

this is even better than nautica voyage in many ways but I wish this lasted longer and projected better. I usually have to reapply every 3 hours or so. reminds me of candy on the dry down. It's very mouth watering and refreshing which is rare to find in a lot of fragrances. This is such a good one for blind buying since the notes blend in perfectly, not too heavy on any one note. Makes you feel like you're at the beach or on a boat. Perfect in summer and good for day. This works good on paper and on skin! I don't know how it works on other peoples skin but it doesn't seem to very much other than pineapple. I use this one a lot for casual occasions and the bottle is almost empty, so if you are going to get this, I'd recommend something bigger than the 50 mL, since this one needs some over spraying. For a $15 price tag, it's almost a steal! 9/10

Fresh, inoffensive floral wood. Starts off flowery and evolves into a musky, clean smelling wood. I personally don’t get any fruitiness however that might just be my skin chemistry. Extremely easy to wear and versatile, probably more suitable for hot weather, but it wouldn’t be wrong to wear this during cooler days. Given the price this is a perfect beginner fragrance, and a perfect errand runner or gym go to. The longevity and Is definitely nothing to write home about, but given the nature of this fragrance I don’t find it a huge issue. Personal Notes: Opening: Flowery, Woody Base: Wood, Musk Vibes / Occasions: Exercise, hotter weather, occasions where a light, lowkey scent would be more appropriate. It's a timeless classic! Fresh, aquatic and somewhat fruity. On the lighter side but sounded. I would rate the scent 3/5. The performance is below Average. I personally get 2-4 hours of longevity with 3 hours being average. Maybe 5 hours on clothing. The projection is weak. First 30 minutes 1- 2 ft projection. Hours 1 to 2 there will be 6 inches of projection with little to no sillaged. Hours 3 and 4 will be a light skin scent. The performance rating is 2/5. The price is amazing and cheap.... I got mine for $16.00 retail at a local store. You can get it cheaper....5/5 for the price. Overall rating is 3.3/5. Perfect for high schoolers and young people who are just getting into fragrance. I use mine for a quick refresher before bed.

Very pleasant and at the same time very generic scent. When i felt the drydown on myself i told myself "Damn.. I promise i already felt this scent on someone." That's why i said it's generic, because it feels like you've already encountred it. Can feel the little hint of Yasmine in there also with the fruits. It definitely feels more maculine than Voyage and i find it sometimes smelling even better. But Voyage definitely has better performance and is more longlasting then this one. It reminds me of clean laundry or just something that you randomly smell on a random guy. I'd say good for hot summer days or gym when you just wanna put something on and smell nice. In that case, it gets the job well done.

I wanted this rather than Voyage: the "overhype" and the described cucumber-scent turned me away from it. I'm glad I decided to go with this one instead. If you want a clean scent for Summer days, this is a great pick, thanks to how affordable it is. Starts off strong, but I think you shouldn't be afraid of using it a bit more - it gets more balanced fairly quickly afterwards. The longevity, in my experience, is decently good. I know many people have experiences where it's weak, but not for me. The bottle is a bit difficult to hold, thanks to the shape of it. Manly, fruity, floral, aquatic, fresh. I'm really glad to have this as part of my Summer fragrances!

Years ago my dad gave me a bottle of this and I still have the bottle here in my room. Fruity, clean, fresh, and wet. I've seen people on this site complain about synthetic notes and I must have a high tolerance for them because I don't seem to detect them often. Here though... Yeah it's fruity but it smells like a recreation of what fruit smells like. In the end, it does smell good and for the price I can't complain. It's actually remarkable a fragrance this cheap smells this decent and lasts longer than a couple hours. It was the first fragrance I ever owned so I'll have a soft spot for it even if it's apparent corners were cut.

Good, cheap mild cologne made by Coty for Nautica For 15 bucks it's good for work or anywhere you don't want to use Nuclear Spicy stuff or something that possibly irritates people It makes you smell fresh without filling the room, lasts probably 4 good hours, maybe 6 as a clothing scent, 8 as skin scent Keep a bottle in the car, at your desk etc for the price you can stock up. Good for freshing up after a cigarette break or when you come out of a restaurant with that "cooking smell" on you Probably not 1st date stuff but it's an everyday freshie aquatic blue that's safe for any occasion so you're not a "cologne monster "

This gets the job done in that it gives me a quality smell for about 2 hours. It performs well for what it is and it's what I go for when nothing special is going on when it's daytime in the summer. As soon as something comes up though I break out something stronger. You get what you pay for and this is no exception but I'm still satisfied with what I got for the price that I paid. If you have a modest income I recommend using this while you set aside money for something better. And even then, keep using it to help stretch out your higher level stuff after you buy it. All in all I would recommend it.

I would never buy this Fragrance, cause my brother used it since he was like 12, but my grandmother bought it for my birthday, so yeah. Even though it’s a cheapy smell and synthetic frag, the smell is refreshing, being very congruent, cause Nautica focuses con clothes with a sporty appeal focused on nautical sports. As said, the scent is very “meh”, but I wear it for a hot climates or a casual day, not a special day, less a date. Perfect for the day or very hot summer, but DON’T buy it, there are better aquatic fragrances out there, like Acqua Di Gio, Bvlgari Acqua, Ck one or Nautica Voyage.

This one is very nostalgic to me. I had the deodorant spray for this as a teen and it smelled identical. After buying the cologne I wore it as my signature scent for a few years between 17 and 22 years and would spray it before work. I would get lots of compliments from female coworkers and they'd give me a quick sniff when they went in for a hug. I do want to clarify that this is definitely a fragrance for the younger crowd. I don't think I'd get the same reaction from girls today in my late 20's. But if what you're after is attracting some 20 year olds, this is the one.

At it's price point - it's a solid spring/summer fragrance. Not offensive at all and lingers well on clothing. I'm not a huge spring/summer fragrance person in general, so I alternate this and D&G Light Blue as my go-tos in the warmer months. Pretty basic and generic smelling. Really nice for the office, daily spritzing, and is even light enough to apply before going to the gym. I personally don't get any pineapple/fruit, but there's a nice woody/musky base with more floral and synthetic top/middle notes that don't give me a headache.

This stuff is weird. It is very very synthetic, and it smells a hint of toilet cleaner/a bit like the new batches of Cool Water. It's very cheap (I picked it up for 15$) and for a nautica fragrance, it's got pretty decent longevity, on my skin I got around 6-7 hours! Personally, I don't think this fragrance is horrible, but it's not horrible. It's aquatic with floral and fruity notes. I would recommend this but always test before. If I was going to get a Nautica fragrance for the first time, I would recommend Nautica voyage more. 7/10

This is a good cheapie I like to wear around the house when I haven't showered but I don't want to knock my cute roommate unconscious. Picked this up on Ebay for <$15US, and for that the value is amazing. I wouldn't pay more than $20, the performance isn't great. Lots of people say it smells cheap--it definitely does! This isn't a fragrance you wear to impress. It's a VERY summery scent, reminds me of a body spray you'd wear in middle school but more mature.

This is almost as blue as a blue fragrance can get. It's a fragrance you've most likely smelled before on someone. It's a pretty common fragrance. TJ Maxx and Ross have this in stock regularly. Very easy and good for physical activities and just overall wanting to smell good and it's affordable. This is my second favorite Nautica behind Voyage. It's a good men's fragrance and it's very blue smelling. The definition of blue. I give this an 8.8/10

smells like the pool water from the motel my uncle unironically scraped up a used pool floaty as a christmas gift in 2010. lasts for maybe 1 nanosecond, two given how hot it is outside. sillage? this frag doesn't know that word, so please go easy on him. none the less, a inoffensive, mildly bleachy heaven good for spraying on after a cigarette or for job interviews that mainly involve janitor or substitute teacher or middle management.

Great, easy affordable blue fragrance that is very fresh. Smells like fresh shower gel, very clean. If you are in a rush for work or class and want something that requires no thought, quick and easy for under $20 you cannot go wrong with nautica blue. Good for work/class, gym, lounging around the house, chilling with buddies or any casual circumstance. 7.5/10, as this does exactly what it’s designed to do. Great cheap freshie

This was my daily scent during my earlier college years. It is blue fresh inoffensive scent. The problem is that is does not last for over 3 hrs. I wish they just increase the price a bit and have it more concentrated. I wear this to work and to the gym. It's perfect because by the time I'm out of both I can put on a more "exciting," fragrance that would be too offensive if I wore it to either. It lasts a short amount of time and for how I use it, I see that as a benefit. Its inoffensive, and most people won't notice it unless they are right up against you. You put it on more so for yourself as a reassurance you dont smell bad.

I was gifted this 4 years ago and still remember it. I don't typically enjoy floral-heavy fragrances, but this one I did. I am surprised to see so many label this as a men's fragrance, when to me it is unisex. It's not unique or complex, nor does it perform well. And I'm sure there are better alternatives even just $10 north, but it's not a terrible buy. Might be a good first fragrance for a young teenager.

Fresh and clean. It's like a much more sophisticated, classy version of old spice. Feels like I'm in a turtleneck on my sailboat sipping on a tropical cocktail. Great for sports or summer sun activities. Beach vibes. Nothing seductive about it, but that's not its purpose. Not very strong, not too much sillage. Just a subtle little something nice. More of a mood than a signature scent. Cheap price. 7/10.

I used to wear this perfume in my early teen years. Got it as a Christmas gift from my aunt. From what I remember I used to really like it. Fresh, sweet, soapy, clean. To this day I still like it, however, maybe it's my own experience, but I think it's a very juvenile fragrance. I can perfectly see a handsome young man wearing it, but it would be better suited for someone below the age of 19.

Nautica Blue is a dumb reach tropical oceanic fragrance that is a great value. You get a sweet fruity opening with a nice fresh woody dry down. You just smell clean out the shower for less than $15. For a cheap fragrance this is a no brainer. Sadly it doesn't last long but what can you expect for the price. I get roughly 3 hours on my skin, you'll want to overspray this.

Like others have said, doesn’t last on my arm longer than 2-3 hours, skin scent around the 45min- 1hour mark.. very cheap pleasant scent, smells similar to Mont Blanc legend.. that’s all I have to say, I’d go with Mont Blanc legend edt or edp over this. They cost about 25 dollars more on discounters but I think they are the better fragrances..

i find it to be very floral on my skin. It's definitely more sweet than it is fresh. Still a good scent for the price, esp as a daily driver to go to uni or maybe even the gym. Not the most long lasting, i find it lasts only about a couple hours, and sillage isnt very good either but considering the price, its a solid option.

My bf's preferred scent and a fave for me. Definitely floral and woody, but I get nothing fruity from this?? The musk stands out but nothing too strong. Overall a solid scent! Longevity is super good. I always give my bf compliments when he wears it. Nothing too crazy about it but it's a safe wear.

This is a great cheapie & a great entry level cologne for those getting into fragrances. This cologne brings me back a lot of memories and nostalgia. This was the first cologne I’ve ever bought myself. Personally I like this one better than Voyage but I guess that’s a hot take these days lol.

I just left a review for Nautica Classic and I could pretty much copy and paste that review here. Except I think I like this scent better. Long story short, this is cheap and synthetic but I still like it. I use it as an after the shower scent, but it'll totally work in a pinch on a hot day.

A great cheapie and an even better entry-level fragrance for anyone just getting into colognes. This one brings back a lot of memories for me since it was the first bottle I ever bought myself. Personally, I prefer it over Voyage (probably a hot take these days, lol). Solid 7/10 in my book.
