Mars

I get the patchouli and the rose right from the jump. The iris in the mid is more floral than powdery. In spite of the floral elements, I think it's a unisex scent, leaning masculine because of the leather in the drydown. Great scent for cooler weather. 8 out of 10 for me.

Going through my Nicheend sample set. Oh boy. I had high hopes for this one but this ended up not working out for me at all. The opening is beautiful, rosy and musky with cacao sweetness and a touch of iris (floral, not powdery/lipsticky). Where things go sour for me was the drydown. I struggle often with leather and here I have a feeling that leather and patchouli which I 90% of the time don't like, it just ruins it all for me, sadly. I don't get any of the "similar to" fragrances listed here, especially not Feminite du Bois. Nudiflorum, perhaps, for the animalic tinge I get in the drydown here. The late drydown is very patchouli heavy and kind of "rotten" to my nose, so it's a definite no for me. It does last long and pushes out well, though. Definitely warm weather and at night, ideally. Not my cup of tea at all.

This came on a bit too chocolatey for my taste, but I am not a gourmand lover...so...
