Sirene

I'll be honest, I slept on this fragrance. I got a sample with ipsy a few years ago and was obsessed, and got the full size for my birthday. Then it sat for about a year and a half before I started using it again. It's fresh, ozonic, watery... I love it to death, it's become one of my favorite fragrances that I own!! It doesn't last very long, but I don't mind touching up

I got a small bottle of this from eBay. Wearing it for the second time today and I've decided I really like this one. I'd probably give it 4.5/5. Why? Three reasons: 1) It really does fit its name. It calls to mind an aquatic environment and magical, feminine beings. It hints at seaside salt and minerals, almost (but not quite) implying the fishiness of the scales of a freshly caught salmon. 2) It's got pretty good performance for a freshie! I keep getting whiffs after 2 hours, even though it's a sweaty and humid morning. Most of my mid-price-range perfumes would be long gone by now. 3) In 2025, it stands out from the uber sweet ambery crowd. It's giving a little bit of a niche vibe to me. That said, there's something about it that reminds me of a specific scent from my past. It's definitely similar to something I've smelled before, but whatever it was it wasn't ubiquitous in my life. Maybe one of my grandmothers used a soap, lotion, lipstick, or shampoo that smelled like it? Maybe it was the scent of a particular dryer sheet in the 1980s? I wish I could place it. But whatever it was, it's not turning me off of this perfume. Sirene is exactly what I'd hoped it would be.
