Nina (1987)

I bought a rather large bottle of this in the early 90's, I'd estimate roughly 92/93. I was a teenager and as much as I loved it, I was just too young and immature to pull it off. It was wearing me instead of vice versa. Thankfully I had the foresight to keep it safe until such time as I felt I had matured enough to wear it. I am very glad I did. What I'm left with now is around 30ml of rich liquid bliss. The juice has darkened like rum and matured tremendously. It smells just like the floral Aldehyde beauty I remember as a teenager, but the ageing process has done both of us a favour. She is stunningly radiant and sophisticated in her frosted glass Lalique bottle. Part of me wishes Nina wasn't discontinued, and part of me feels incredibly lucky that she was because no one will ever be able to replicate the way I smell. Am I being selfish? Yes, very. Do I care? Not one damn bit. I get loads of marigold in the opening 30 minutes to an hour, after which it dries down into the most intoxicating mimosa that is ostentatiously exhibited on a platter of oakmoss, civet and musk. I wish y'all could smell it, but the days of real perfumery like this are of a bygone era. Thank god I stored her well because judging by previous reviews, she turns flat as a pancake when she spoils. That's so sad because when she's in perfect condition she's breathtakingly beautiful. Please be mindful of the reviews of bottles that have been purchased from eBay or second-hand sources. Fakes and badly stored bottles abound.

Some time ago i have tried it in a pure parfum concentration and didn ́t like it at all. It was very weird scent to me, not that i imagine it would be. Ever since i thought i dislike this scent until today. Today i have tried the EDT version of "Nina" (the splash round bottle) and was really positivly surprised by the difference in fragrance. I personally like the EDT version of this much more than pure parfum concentration which is an exception, usually i do otherwise. It is so fresh and light! Peach makes the perfect balance for the mimose note mixed with a lemon note. What i like about it that the lemon note here is so delicate that it doesn ́t becomes too much citrusy fragrnace but just perfect for summer and spring. Usually i don ́t like citrus perfumes or too green perfumes, but with this one i have found THE most perfect spring scent for me! A really different fragrance! I haven ́t smelled anything like it before. And i like a bottle very much! Need to buy myself a couple of bottles of this as long as it is still available! I won ́t ever understand any excuse for discontinuing this masterpiece!

Lovely. Very old-school, very pretty and interesting too. I find it quite green initially - the basil and marigold make themselves known. Then, a lovley aldehydic white floral, quite gentle and slightly honeyed to my nose. In fact it's a little naughty at this stage! Drydown is still gentle, with sandalwood somewhat dominant. Gorgeous. Sillage is moderate, lasting power is great. I agree that this is old-style and seems older than its years. it must have appeared very retro in 1987 when it was launched. Nevertheless,classy and classic. Btw, this is edt and is a half-full bottle bought unboxed from ebay, so I've no idea how it was kept. Still smells great! I agree with the poster below that you can get problems buying this way, but in my experience they are rare.

This is so heartbreakingly beautiful. If I were ever to have a signature scent (never gonna happen - so many frags so little time) this would be it. Why oh why would they discontinue such perfection? I had a bottle back in the early 90s and have just managed to score myself some of the vintage juice on eBay. I think it smells even better (to me) now than it did back then, which proves that I am indeed older, wiser, and more sophisticated ;) They don't make 'em like this anymore (sigh). I am new to the world of (learning about) perfume, so I don't have the knowledge or vocabulary to accurately describe Nina and do her justice; all I can say is I actually put some on my wrist last night just to go to bed so I could lay there huffing as I fell asleep...

I cannot believe there are so few reviews for this lovely fragrance. I really, really, REALLY, miss this original Nina. This was my signature scent for years. I especially preferred it in the eau de toilette verses the eau de parfum. There is such a wonderful balance in the eau de toilette. For those who have never experienced Nina, I like to describe it as a sophisticated, elegant, and a little bit smoldering sexy fragrance. The marigold is the only note that I can distinctly identify. Sadly discontinued, it's been replaced with a new Nina that is candy-like, as so many fragrances tend to be these days. I've never found anything that comes close to the original Nina, try as I may, nothing compares. Oh, how I wish they would bring this back!!!

Oh my gosh! I was reminded of this Nina when I was shopping for another fragrance last night. What a glorious scent this was, right up there in terms of opulent femininity with the likes of First, Chamade, and Amouage Dia and Jubilation 25. I had bought the lotion in a promotional set with a spray perfume gift when it first came out. As much as I loved it, I think I was too young to truly appreciate it. What a shame it's no longer made....

I have an almost full bottle,picked up at a garage sale. The sticker on the back says Bergdorf 1990..$55.00. I can't detect any deterioration, even though I bought it without a lid. Very classy & elegant, golden & mossy at the same time. Long lasting, as all the good ones were, getting closer to the skin, I detect more Jasmine now that refreshes it beautifully.

I gave a mini bottle and a soap to my mother as a gift just about 30 years ago... I always loved to smell it when I was in her bathroom. Now, I still keep the beautiful container that the soap was in, long time since used up... wishing they would make this perfume again. It was so beautiful - almost as beautiful as L’air du Temps. Oh, sweet femininity...

Until today I didn't know this fragrance was discontinued. I have a full bottle of perfume, a full bottle of EDP spray and a container of the body powder. It seems like every perfume I really love has been discontinued. I noticed there is a NR perfume in an apple shaped bottle which is called Nina. Does anyone know what that one is like?

I would absolutely buy this fragrance! My mum hat it in the 90s. I still remember this sweet, classy, fresh and soapy fragrance. I haven't smell anything similar since und I wish there were at least some similar options on the market.. Does anyone maybe have something in mind? I would be very gratefull...

To my nose this is Ivoire de Balmain, perfected. While Ivoire in EDT is a little crude and angular, this one is her younger, prettier sister. The picture atop is a very good way to interpret this fragrance - it is like a transparent silk mist surrounding you. Impossibly feminine.

If this Company had more smarts and insight, and if they really could understand what is good for women and Nina Ricci's own interests, they wouldn't discontinue one of the three best perfumes of all time. They lose first! Sorry, guys but I can't buy your girlish colognes!

My mother used to wear this perfume around 15 years ago and it had this amazingly wonderful sophisticated smell that remains in my memory till date! The recent Nina Ricci collections seem very strong and totally different from the earlier creations like this.

Ohhh Lamerienda, I SOOOO MUCH agree with you!! Nina Ricci was a real masterpiece supplier!! And although I love their new perfumes too, they chose to become a more trendy & girly house. But they used to be alllll about WOMEN!!!!

This was one of the best perfumes ever made. I do not know why it was discontinued. Absolutely marvellous, nothing to do with the new Nina.

I also would like it comes back in that original bottle! It so lovely and elegant, it's a shame Nina Ricci doesn't produce the best one!

This is so elegant and feminine with great sillage and superb longevity. It is a shame it has been discontinued. Real gem in perfumery.

It is a very delicate green mossy perfume, forest like. I love it a lot!!

A small gripe - I find it off-putting when brands use the same name for completely different perfumes à la Miss Dior, Cartier Panthère et al. I understand why - to retain a name of significance to a brand when the original scent has gone out of fashion - but it is a pet hate, as it leads to confusion and loss of identity. Nina is a case in point: the current Nina is a commercially successful sweet gourmand, while this earlier Nina is a dated aldehydic floral, competent but dull. I received a vintage miniature EDT from the 1990s. It reminds me in part of other scents of its era. Nina opens with bright, soapy aldehydes and a nice, albeit brief, mimosa note - the most noteworthy thing about this scent. Typically sweet, polleny and evocative of summer, it is really pleasant. It becomes green and herbal with a slight hint of spice. Soft, soapy florals creep in, and it is hard to pick out individual notes, apart from vague white florals and a hint of rose. A nice powdery violet-iris accord emerges after a little while. It remains aromatically herbal and quite dry. Nina becomes animalic as it dries down - mossy and earthy, with some leather, reminding me a little of Van Cleef & Arpels First. It remains light, thanks to the soapy remnants of the aldehydes, instead of murky. Despite the mossy notes, it is not quite a chypre - the aldehydes stay dominant, with the mossy accord remaining in the background. It fades to a musky, woody, slightly soapy skin scent. Sillage and longevity are moderate. While Nina is not bad, even pretty nice, there are many superior similar perfumes. Despite the long list of notes, it feels linear and fairly wan. However, I love jung_yunho26's apt description below: that Nina is like pressed flowers. Poetic and pretty, but ultimately lifeless. 3/5.

Have know this fragrance for years but never had the chance to give a try. Two days ago I received a small pretty sample from France. It’s quite late where I live and before going to bed, I thought of testing it on my skin. Well, it is not exactly what I expected to find. It is certainly aldehydic, very much reminiscent of its day, as said, but woody too and for a little while, sweet. Strangely enough it reminded me of Ivoire de Balmain which I consider quite exceptional. I was happy to find some friends here see the connection. However, Ivoire is quite herbal and quite striking, especially in the beginning, but even after. There is a tension whereas here things are more static. I also got a bit of Champs Elysèes without knowing why and then I saw Mimosas are there. This dialogue with Guerlain’s classic, though, does not last long. Civet might be there but I can’t really sense it as in Eau de Joy or 1000. Well, Nina seems to have many cousins. Deci Dela which I cherish and fondly remember is not one of them. Be that may, the wooden notes they use might be the same. Nice to meet you Nina.

I ordered multiple mini’s from the early 90s that I realised had been stored in a hot glass cupboard, and pretty much all of them smelled like alchohol. But not this one, it held up and I can actually smell the wood and aldehydic notes that is described on this page. I’m new to fragrance and this caught me by suprise, it does smell dated, but I’m open to the idea. I am pretty dated myself and I’m yet to find out what my favorite scent smells like. I don’t think this necessarily will be my go-to as I’m 25, but I can see myself wearing this to the opera, bringing it in my Whiting and Davis mesh purse. Edit: This reminds me of christmas, and this is the only time of the year I can picture myself wearing this. Probably reminds me of christmas because of the carnation note. I wrote that I would bring this to the opera, but now that I think about it, my first choice would be Oscar by Oscar de la Renta, which is more of a rounder aldehyde. But I would wear Nina to christmas parties.

Disappointingly, some say this is quite generic and lesser than Capricci and Farouche. I disagree. It’s a continuation of that paintbrushed Cinderella in Capricci and the brooding watercolored meadow in Farouche. It even continues the fae fantasy of Eau de Fleurs. How can some shun this? Surely, Nina Ricci uses quite unusual aromatic facets in addition to the splendid garni of the house’s perfume bases. Clary sage, rosemary and this time laurels in combination with marigold. It gives off a spiced kick which hides the slightest amount of grapes. Still spectral but wonderfully ephemeral. Nina Ricci’s motto I think was to emphasize how beauty is short-lived and that we should revel in it while it lasts. True enough, it stays faithful to the hazed and romantic motif. All gauzed but a splendid showcase of how acerbic greens and gustatory herbs can be accorded with feminine wiles of freshly bloomed florals. Definitely another book-pressed flower by Ricci.

I have the vintage in the white floral bottle with birds and the gold bow. This starts out BANG a total floral aldehyde then the bay, vetiver, oakmoss, green notes and basil surface. This is very herbal on the dry down and gets a bit bitter. It's a chypre but not one of those in-your-face oakmoss scents. Comforting.

I have a sample. --- One of those classic warm powdery, well-rounded, floral soapy aldehydes. Classy, well done and very delicately balanced. I don't feel the need for it as there's other fragrances of this kind that I own and enjoy more (either more powdery or more woody), but I'll enjoy the sample.

I remember wearing this in the late 1980s. I don't remember much about it, only that to me it smelled like a reimagining of a classic vintage fragrance - a floral mix with just enough aldehydes to make it interesting.

Its not for me but like a lot of others it brings back memories. For me of my old ballet teacher Wilma. The most glamourous woman I can remember.........

For years I have been curious about this scent, and I almost bought it a few times but always got sidetracked buying something else. Now that I've smelled it, I'm glad I didn't. I am amazed at all the notes listed because despite the abundance, this is very flat and feels incomplete. Surprising, because if I remember correctly, I used to see this advertised as being very springlike. I agree with another reviewer that it is in a similar vein to Revlon's Jontue, except Jontue is the completed painting. Maybe this mini parfum that I received is a little off as it is old, but it doesn't smell like it is. It just makes me think of the color gray for some reason, whereas Jontue is vibrant, like the dawn of spring. People here say that this is a different fragrance in the eau de toilette formulation, and maybe that is true, but I'm not willing to spend more money to find out. As far as comparisons to Nina Ricci's Fleur de Fleurs, I say no way, no how. That was my signature fragrance and the only one I wore from the time it came out until it was discontinued, and this is not even close. The perfumer for that wonderful fragrance was Bette Busse, creator of such iconic perfumes as Lagerfeld's Chloe and Estee Lauder's Estee, with Fleur de Fleurs just as beautiful, whereas this is the one and only fragrance created by the perfumer (?), Christian Vacchiano. After smelling this perfume, I am not surprised by that. Maybe after this fragrance he realized he was not cut out for this business. That aside, while this perfume is not an outright dislike for me, it's not something I'd ever wear, as it's just too lackluster. If I want to wear something in this vein, I'll stick to Jontue or the dozen or so other fragrances I already have that actually deliver in bringing the theme of spring to life.

I came across someone selling a miniature 5 ml edt bottle of this and I fell in love with the bottle, so I thought I'd give it a try. I did mistake it for the newer Nina by Nina Ricci, so when I got this one and first tried it, I was shocked and disappointed since I was expecting apple and praline but all I got was powder and wood (two things I usually stay away from, lol). I did some research and ended up realising that what I had purchased was this vintage, original version. Unfortunately, I can't stand the scent of this. It's so soapy and bitter and sour on my skin that I just want to wash it off right away. I stand by the fact that the bottle is absolutely gorgeous though! One of the prettiest I've seen. I'll keep it as decoration on my shelf, but if anyone wants to adopt my bottle, send me a message and I'd happily let someone else (who appreciates it) have it :-)

So much soapiness! This one's even worse than L-air-du temps. The vintage is supposed to be a floral aldehyde, and yet I only get cheap soap. This is the second Ricci frag I've tested, and I don't like either. It's too bad since I dearly love vintage perfumes. The compositions of the Ricci frags just don't agree with me.

You see my mother was a housemaid for various Manhattan socialites and high society people. At one time, she was even working for Donald and Ivana Trump. And this is that kind of perfume- totally smells of a lot of money. The first fragrance with a "rich woman" aura I had ever encountered was Azzaro 9 which coincidentally is quite similar in it's composition to this fragrance. I would have to say that Azzaro 9 most closely resembles Nina. I don't know which came first but both are cut from the same cloth, though they are not duplicates nor smell that much alike. Other fragrances that come to mind when smelling this one are Vanderbilt by Gloria Vanderbilt Beautiful by Estee Lauder and Paris by Yves Saint Laurent. The round bottle was a splash and I never experienced it as a spray. This was a gift from a friend of mine who happened to have the original and I have been on Cloud 9 and overdosing on pure nostalgia. This is a very beautiful and touching feminine fragrance. It has a sweet soapy floral daintiness one associates with florals for princesses - i.e. L'Air du Temps also by Nina Ricci. Definitely a fragrance of it's time a sort of L'Air du Temps for the 80's. It has that wonderful make-up and powder and handbag scent so prevalent in 1980's fragrances. Not an Oriental, not a chypre, but a very wearable and soft soapy floral aldehyde perfume. When you apply this perfume on your neck or bosom, the aroma it produces is so enchanting. It's like an old song from an LP - Cole Porter's So Easy To Love, or A Pretty Girl Is Like A Melody by Irving Berlin. The feminine touch of this fragrance is out of another time, when women were women, smelled like women, dressed like women, and behaved like ladies. A lady like floral without any sex appeal or any sort of unisex body or attitude. It's relatively simple and straightforward as a boudoir perfume. At first you will detect a peach and citrus fruit flavor, along with a passing greenery. It has a similar beginning as either Azzaro 9 or to a degree even Vanderbilt by Gloria Vanderbilt. Azzaro 9 had a pineapple scent that is missing here but instead it has a very delicious and fresh citrus which matches up with the fresh and sparkling aldehydes that crown the top notes. A tart lemon is also present. So if you like citrus - or rather citrus florals- this is going to be your bag. But the aldehydes are the key players as the fragrance opens. You have to like aldehyde fragrances - i.e. Arpege, Chanel No. 22, Chanel No. 5, First Van Cleef & Arpels. The mimosa and orange blossom are the biggest floral notes. Then the other florals emerge with a soapy goodness: rose, jasmine, violet, iris, ylang, and marigold. The marigold is probably the only other dominant floral note. Beautifully floral, almost as floral as Estee Lauder Beautiful. The flowery scent is utterly feminine, classy, sophisticated, but not in an aggressive or old Church lady way. As a Nina Ricci of the 1980's, this was a young woman's floral scent. It matches up with the kind of smells one used to get from the perfume stores of the 80's which was an entirely different mix of smells from today's department stores. It always had a "make up" vibe. As the multi florals quiet down and become whispers of flowers, with that marigold still lingering, the dry down develops. This is a black currant syrup scent which was innovative and unusual. It is not very heavy but it gives the scent a syrupy sweetness and deliciousness that keeps it youthful and tones down the mature and darker scents of musk patchouli and sandalwood. There is also a very silent civet. I don't think of this as a patchouli at all nor is it an Oriental sandalwood smell. The syrup and the moss are the real big players at the dry down stage. It has a traditional oak moss scent, but it doesn't really become too heavy either, as it's not a chypre. This is a very pretty perfume. I felt like time moved backwards and I was transformed into a younger version of myself, with a girlish curiosity for perfume. I maintain that same curiosity now. I have even taken to buying perfumes blindly for the sheer thrill of discovery. I love to discover new and old fragrances. Nina is a classic and has an outdated floral air but it's very appealing if you like aldehyde florals and you're familiar with the frags I mentioned as being similar to it: Beautiful Estee Lauder Azzaro 9 Loris Azzaro Paris Yves Saint Laurent Vanderbilt Gloria Vanderbilt There might also be a slight similarity to Oscar de La Renta, although it doesn't strike me as being too much like Oscar except for the yellow floral and soapiness about it. Despite the aldehyde and soap, it's not a bath product by any means. It's wearable as a casual day time work fragrance, it has great longevity and smells like a real perfume and not some body wash or soap to smell so-so for your day. No. You will smell amazing in this beautiful perfume. I wear this to work and get tons of compliments on it. A dreamy floral perfume for the lady in all of us.

Nina is beautiful I still have a splash bottle from '87, and it's always such an enchanting fragrance every time. The classic floral aldehyde can be worn by both young ladies and mature women. At the time it was selling it was marketed at young women in their 20's. I remember the advertisement and voiced my desired to possess this perfume to my husband, a successful attorney who worked out of Atlanta for many years. For Valentines Day 1988, he generously presented the perfume to me as a gift along with three bouquets of red and pink roses, my favorite. This was a pleasure to wear. I also remember smelling it on a few women I knew but they were younger than me and worked as receptionists and dental assistants. This perfume matches up with a dress shirt with buttons, or classic blouses and skirts. It also matches up with the image in the advertisement as presented on Fragrantica. Smells like a lovely woman in a tulle or gossamer white, a veil or wedding gown or sheer night gown. Very pretty and youthful. Nina was a lovely triple force fragrance. It was 1: a fruity fragrance with citrus notes of lemon and bergamot orange, and an orange blossom to die for! A mimosa note was repeated twice and it too smelled of orange, sort of a combination vanilla and orange flavor like a sorbet almost, cool and a bit chilled, fresh, and the aldehyde content in the opening brought out the zest and freshness. There was also a lovely peach flavor, boozy peach cocktail. Thrown into this fruit mélange is syrupy black currant smelling of grape juice or cassis wine. Delicious grapes. A yellow floral note of ylang ylang gave it a slight banana fruit note. Very much a fruity fragrance as it begins with a decidedly sweet day wear air, as if you can only wear it in the day. It had a luxuriousness but a casual coolness. 2: A floral. This was all about the flowers. Besides the orange blossom and mimosa in the opening, a lovely marigold emerges softly. I would say that this smells like a golden yellow floral with prominent mimosa and orange blossom similar to Poeme by Lancôme. That fragrance would come out later but I remember how it reminded me of Nina at times. There are as many fragrant heady floral notes as could be found in Estee Lauder's Beautiful, largely considered the ultimate floral fragrance of the 80's. Also it has a kind of powdery iris and violet scent similar to Paris by Yves Saint Laurent. Like those fragrances, this is equipped with beautiful garden flowers. They include jasmine, rose, iris, violet, ylang ylang and marigold. The iris gives it a touch of powder and the rest of the florals are soapy sweet. This is as much as you'd expect out of a 1980's floral fragrance. 3: Chypre. For me the dry down reveals the mossy oak note that is prevalent in most chypres. It's green, too, like most chypres. I smelled the moss and it was not shy. There's also bay leaves and patchouli. So the way it goes from fruity-floral to green woodsy mossy chypre is fantastic. The patchouli is not too strong but it gives it an herbal yumminess. Finally the woodsy note emerges as it turns into a gorgeous sandalwood. I love sandalwood in my fragrances and when I discover them in base notes I'm always in ecstasy. This is a beautiful absolutely beautiful sandalwood fragrance. There is musky and civet, which was actually quite a common note in perfume even in the 80's, but on me, this never turns into an animal or heavy musk scent. In fact because of the iris and violet the musk turns into the powdered version of musk. The civet is nowhere to be found. It's a light musk mostly green patchouli and woodsy dry down. Nina is fresh flowers in the spring time, a beautiful ballerina type of scent, Giselle, by Adolphe Adam, who was a beautiful village girl in Germany, who lived on the banks of the Rhine and was seduced by a prince in disguise, heartbroken when he reveals he is engaged to a princess, and dies of a broken heart, turning into a Willi or wood sprite. She sheds tears in the moonlit forest and wears white veils as she flies around waiting to avenge her death but instead choosing to let her lover the Prince live out of her own undying love for him. She is the wind in the trees, the spring mountain air, the scent of mimosa and marigold. This is a lovely perfume. It does have the Nina signature all over it and reminds me of a more fruity L'air du Temps. So if you like these type of romantic and sweet fruity florals you'll be thoroughly enraptured by Nina as I was.

I've read a lot of reviews on Fragrantica, with many lamenting the discontinuation of their favourite fragrance - and some looking for the originals on ebay, etc. I thought perfumes went off - like some wines that weren't meant for ageing. Is that not correct? Do fragrances smell the way they were intended years after production? I have all of my old bottles on a shelf in the bathroom, and found there was a little of the Nina Eau de Toilette left, so I sprayed it on my wrist, half expecting it to smell rancid... but no! It is gorgeous!!! Powdery, sensual, and very womanly. All of the perfumes I've tried over the last few years have been girly, and I don't want to smell like that - I'm 54. For a few years, going through menopause, I couldn't wear fragrance at all. When hormones are changing, perfume can really stink (I'm sure you've all smelled that combination of hormones and fragrance - yuk!) Now, just when I feel ready to wear a gorgeous, feminine, womanly fragrance - I can't for the life of me find one!! I'll try Nina out in public and see how it goes... as for now, I'll wear it to bed and just enjoy it. While I'm here, I'd like to thank all of the regular reviewers who really know their stuff in regard to perfumes. Knowledge is power, and perhaps I'll find something that suits me - armed with the knowledge gained from your experience.

Ode to Nina.... . Fading beauty sleeps all day, and prays her winkles fade away. She floats on clouds of old perfume, then counts the ghosts locked in her room. How I wish this perfume would be re-released in it's original formulation. I had two bottles of the scent and a spray body oil that lasted years, never losing its scent. I had used up my two bottles before it was discontinued. Fast forward to 2017; I bought a small set of EDP (a dabbler bottle), body lotion, shower gel & soap for under £30!. Had this scent not have been discontinued, I'm sure it would have been up there with the classic/vintage scents. I've not smelled anything similar at all. I occasionally have a dab from my bottle of and it that's all it needs to last all day. Its kept in its box in a darkened cupboard. It's one of those scents that seems to bloom all day revealing its individual notes. Beautiful and very much missed.

I got a mini and it seemed a little odd, but I liked it anyway. So I got two larger bottles, anything worth doing... I wore it today and it is absolutely captivating me. I could see this as a fantastic signature scent. It is so different than other perfumes, it has that herbal edge but doesn't go all out green and 19. It has an aspect of old school Paris elegance too. It must be the currant bud top note that is so unique to me. I thought this was a much older creation than it is, I think if it had come out in the fifties, it would have been huge and probably still with us. Sad, really. I might need some more bottles...

uuu recuerdo perfectamente el olor de ese perfume, parece que fue ayer cuando al ir a las tiendas departamentales me probaba ese perfume, despues de adolescente logre tener una botella, ultimamente lo habia buscado y no tenia idea de que se habia dejado de hacer, era perfecto! he buscado olores que se acerquen a esa fragancia, pero solo una me ha podido causar ese sentimiento de nostalgia, se llama insolense de guerlain y aunque no es de la gama de aromas, me causo una grata sensacion al olerlo...espero que este perfume salga algun dia como edicion limitada

I have a sample, but I have only tested on paper so far. For a similar feeling, I prefer Jontue, believe it or not. Something about the vintage Nina feels dead to me, stifled. Some have said "hazy" or "gauzy" and I think that is very apt. It is up to you whether it feels pleasant or not! Sometimes I think we romanticize the scents we can no longer easily get. True enough, though, yes, sometimes it is a terrible loss when a fragrance is discontinued. Luckily for me, I am not at a loss without this one. [relieved]

One of my first loves - the ones that are never forgotten and always sorely missed. It is very complex, and it is difficult to separate the notes - but the result is a honey like...wild honey like, elegant, feminine elixir! How could they discontinue THIS one? It is a true, classic gem, a pearl among pearls. It has all the best qualities a woman may wish in a perfume - subtle,yet alluring sex appeal, unbelievable syllage, the uniqueness like no other! Gotta have it back!

My mother used it about 15yrs ago. I remember I used to sniff the spray head again and again and again. It was feminine and classy. I think it is more suitable for evening use. Years went by, I grew up, I decided to buy my first perfume, Nina, the only perfume in my mind I'd like to have for so many yearsss, but I was really disappointed to find out it was already discontinued, SADDDDDD :(

This was a Queen among fragrances - my "signature" for over 10 years - when heard it was not being continued visited every perfume shop and chemist and even bought a tester from one shop to keep me going. Why oh Why did they stop making this one - they still make Chanel 5 which goes very powdery on me very quickly - Nina lasted and lasted. Please, please bring it back. Alexandrarae

A friend gave me a bottle of Nina some years ago and I use it sparingly.... I really enjoy this perfume and I cannot understand why on Earth they brought out the new version as it cannot compare! It smells like something from the dollar store! It's about time they came to their senses and brought back the original... the one with class!

I tried to find the reviews of Nina Ricci Classic by Nina Ricci and they sent me here...but I didn't think this is the same perfume as my Mom's..its a round white shape bottle with a golden bow in the between and there's also NR signature on it....I can't detect the notes except for florals..unique florals which I like :)

For the people that can't find the original Nina, I have found that Ferre, eau de Parfum is a pretty good substitute, whenever I wear it it takes me back to my childhood when mum used to dab it on me when I had been good! Still looking to find the original Nina, that bottle was gorgeous :)

I wore Nina when it just came out. It was love at first sniff. I recently found a vintage bottle of this on Ebay for a reasonable price and I jumped at it. Thank you to the very honest seller (it IS the vintage one; long-lasting and lovely) I can now enjoy this gorgeous scent again.

I had a bottle bought in 1998-1999 or 2000, i can't remember. Spetacular, very sofisticated, feminine, cozy, creamy.... Why discontinue such marvelous?

PLEASE BRING IT BACK!!!!! I always sneaked in my mum's room to wear this perfume... I was only able to buy it once and now it has been stopped? :(
