Sine Gloria

EN Sine Gloria is exactly the kind of fragrance that appears far too rarely in the world of niche perfumery. There is something dark, dense, and charged with an almost irresistible sense of danger, yet at the same time it remains entirely free of chaos. It carries sweetness, richness, and depth, and still manages to embody a remarkable elegance. It feels warm, shadowed, almost decadent, yet presented with great control and impeccable taste. This is a fragrance that seems to pause for a moment, then generously allows silence to do the rest. Sine Gloria is a fragrance with true individuality. Sensual, dense, slightly smoky, slightly boozy, slightly viscous, and yet never vulgar. It evokes velvet in a dark room, old wood, amber light, and that vibrating tension which makes a perfume far more memorable than ordinary, overly flawless beauty. ______ IT Sine Gloria è esattamente quel tipo di profumo che compare troppo di rado nel mondo della profumeria di nicchia. C’è in lui qualcosa di scuro, denso, attraversato da una sorta di irresistibile senso di pericolo, e allo stesso tempo una totale assenza di caos. Ha dolcezza, corpo, intensità, eppure riesce comunque a incarnare un’eleganza sorprendente. È caldo, ombroso, quasi decadente, ma presentato con grande controllo e con gusto impeccabile. È un profumo che sembra fermarsi per un istante, per poi lasciare generosamente che sia il silenzio a fare tutto il resto. Sine Gloria è un profumo con una vera individualità. Sensuale, denso, leggermente fumoso, leggermente liquoroso, appena viscoso, eppure mai volgare. Richiama il velluto in una stanza scura, il legno antico, la luce ambrata e quella nervosità vibrante che rende un profumo molto più memorabile della bellezza ordinaria e troppo perfetta.

I get tar and nothing much else. Very dark and persistent. Feels like black hole, endless and inevitable once applied.

I like it when a fragrance doesn’t try to please everyone, doesn’t take your hand. Sine Gloria opens like that, almost burning, rough... like it started a second too early. But then it happens immediately: it shifts on the skin, stays there, and you find yourself thinking ‘what am I even smelling right now?’. Maybe a “hashish” accord, or something circling around it without ever letting itself be pinned down. Tar. Green, aromatic. Dry, vegetal. To me it reads as cannabis, no need to overthink it. It’s immediately clear it’s not trying to convince anyone, you either take it or leave it. And this expands further: Nobile 1942 does something different here. It steps out of its comfort zone, tries to get its hands dirty. It experiments, changes its language, stops always speaking to the same audience. It wants to be more contemporary, more provocative. Even the (new) nose behind this creation seems to have grown tired of playing it safe. The performance is off the charts, really. I leave the house. I come back eight hours later. It’s still there. Not on me. In the room. Exactly where I sprayed it, as if it had never moved. Remarkable.
