Silver Fields

I love the smoky sandalwood in this fragrance. It starts quite green (not in some crushed grass way but more in a fresh herbal sense). The top notes give me a solid 1-2 hours where instead of fading away, the mid starts to grow. As it settles on the skin, there's a seamless transition to an aromatic heart. It'll be a fantastic wear for the spring and summer time. You can smell the vetiver from top to bottom which is really great and the transition to the base is divine.

As I continue reviewing Ntrigue's entire house after trying their discovery collection, Silver Fields rounds out their masculine offerings. This is truly very nice and CLEAN vetiver forward fragrance. I have tried many vetiver fragrances and enjoyed Roja's enough to purchase it even though I rarely wear Chypre fragrances. Roja's was the only clean vetiver fragrance that I had found, but at $350+, its hard to justify that as a regular wear. Now to Ntrigue's Silver Fields. I started this review saying it was a very clean vetiver fragrance. I say that because most vetiver scents, Dyptique's vetiverio for example although great and you can tell it was created by talented hands, have such a strong 'earthy' feel almost akin to soil. Silver Fields is not like this at all. It is remarkably crisp, clean, fresh, but also smoky which sets it apart and unique compared to other vetiver fragrances. It has more character than Tom Fords Grey Vetiver and significantly longer lasting than Guerlains Vetiver. You get such a nice smokey citrus top, floral heart (maintaining the smoky note from the Guaiacwood) and then a powerful sandalwood and vetiver base. The vertiver is lovingly maintained throughout the entire duration of the fragrance and although you get great sillage for the first 4-5 hours, I get continued perceivability for 10+ hours. Another incredible offering, and more appropriate for an office setting than Ntrigue's other two masculine scents.
