Nebula

I am working my way through Ntrigue's discovery collection to sample all of their offerings and now I am on Nebula. Although I wear primarily masculine fragrances, Nebula, if I may say can truly be considered a wonderful unisex fragrance. It does lean more feminine due to the florals at the beginning of the fragrance, but the citrus opening, and the gorgeous amber/wood base really takes it to another level. Just as the house (Ntrigue) describes this fragrance, I experiences a transformation in the notes as I wore the fragrance. It starts out with light citrus, I primarily smell mandarin and sweet orange, with maybe a slight kick of the upper notes from the frankincense. On my skin, the florals begin to bloom within about 15 minutes after spraying, and on my skin I smell primarily the orange blossom. On my wife's skin, it was mainly jasmine and rose. It really incredible how body chemistry comes into play with this fragrance to accentuate the different facets. Ntrigue remarks there is a 'hint of oud' in this fragrance and both of us could perceive it right as the florals begin to bloom. Its not in your face or completely hidden, its just perceivable enough that you know its there without overpowering the light florals. something I really like. The amber and sandalwood base starts to appear and you get a lovingly smooth (yet drier) woody base to the fragrance. A wonderful change from many overly sweet from the vanilla many fragrances that use these base notes resort to. The tonkabean and vanilla are still there in the base notes, but are truly there to support the lovely amyris/sandalwood notes. It is more of a wintery evening fragrance and very pleased with this offering. My wife will be happy to get a bottle this christmas.
