Valley Of Flowers

This is quite the familiar peony - clean...fresh, PRETTY. But...despite the generic, very "BTDT" composition, this is executed so perfectly, that I firmly assert this is absolutely the BEST fresh pink floral that springs to mind when I consider everything I've tried from this genre. And there have been many. This opens with overripe citrus, so much so that it smells like it's almost beginning to turn, but not quite over the limit yet. The peony/rose is indolic for a little while. After it dries, it's weird to think that in it's opening stage it's actually a bit skanky (because it proceeds into an super clean floral), but it is. I've worn this three times now, but forgot again how boundary-pushing the opening actually is. After it settles, it becomes a high-pitched, super crisp, ultra clean, piercing pink peony with white musk. Almost bleachy. I cannot overstate how incredibly clean this is. It immediately spikes my self-confidence...I guess sometimes I just love smelling exceptionally groomed 🤣 This has no vanilla, no soft woods (it lists sandalwood, but I don't smell it), no patchouli, no amber...nothing to warm it up or render it less crisp. I love all of those sorts of notes, but this perfect. The cold winter air highlights it's pristine qualities. It feels expensive to me. And, you know...it's honestly a little overpriced in the sense that this isn't anything that smells of it's comprised of costly materials. It's just a peony and musk bomb. But, I'd gladly pay to replace my travel spray, and I would consider a full bottle even if it's unreasonable. I know this doesn't make sense ("Expensive-smelling, yet not high quality, overpriced, but worth it? Are you nuts?"), but it leaves me in a state of concession. I love it. I can't explain this one adequately. The only other fragrance that has a similar effect on me was Bvlgari Omnia Coral. That was also high-pitched, insanely clean (though much fruitier than this), and definitely overpriced. I adore that one too, because I'm a freaking weirdo. My sister describes this as "immaculate", she gifted me this for my last birthday, and I cannot think of a better description. Immaculate.

An unusually nice peony scent. I love peonies in real life, but the translation into perfume usually leaves something to be desired. Like a fresh, dewy rose, the true-to-life scent of a peony is difficult to capture in perfume, at least based on what I have smelled. I wouldn't say this is incredibly photorealistic, but it's a firmly fresh floral that is not nauseating like virtually all peony notes (and most rose notes) tend to be for me. I also have a love-to-hate relationship with rose notes, and this one is also an exemplar in a big, bad field. It's a little shampoo-like in a nice way, like you washed your hair and then stepped into a bath full of rose petals. I think the main accord pyramid at the top of this page reads very true. Valley of Flowers is floral before rose before fresh, and then secondarily violet/powdery before citrus before woody musk, all in that order of strength. Sadly, this doesn't have the lasting power I would want out of this. I think it's gone on me in around hour, but hey, maybe I'm just nose blind. I think the current price of $135 for 2.5 oz. is a little high, but the travel size of .34 oz at $36 is a good value (especially because I think you'll have to take this along with you to refresh throughout the day). Despite the mediocre longevity, projection is good. Quite a nice scent, I just wish it would last longer. 8/10.

I sprayed some of this on the hem of my shirt when I saw it at a hair salon. Hours later when I was at the gym (after I had forgotten about spraying it), I kept smelling something sooo clean and sophisticated, like an expensive hair product. I even asked the ladies next to me what they were wearing, because I thought the aroma was coming from them 😆 It wasn't until I was changing my shirt after my workout that I realized the smell was me the whole time! Immediately bought a travel size, and can't wait to wear it in the warmer weather <3

A light rose-violet musk. A very pretty and inoffensive scent I would wear if gifted. When it comes to rose and violet fragrances however, I would purchase Lipstick Fever over this one. The deeper red rose, iris, and woodsy notes in the aforementioned lend a richness and complexity this one is lacking. I SO WISH the shampoo and conditioner smelled like this one because I choose these smells above the ozonic citrus freshie Cote d'Azur in my every day all over fragrances.

It reminds me of marc jacobs honey, maybe a more grown up version of it. Surprisingly good performance for the type of scent - moderate to heavy projection and more than half a day of longevity. More obvious when you sweat. I also get something that reminds me of the fruit jelly cups I had as a child. I would categorize it as a girly girl scent, one of the few girly girl scent that both me and my boyfriend like. A strong like so far

I really like this scent. It's not exactly unique, but it is pretty high quality to my nose. It is also pleasant and a great fragrance to wear to pretty much any occasion. The longevity is moderate and left me satisfied. The issue is the price. I think it is overpriced, but it also doesn't smell cheap. If you enjoy floral Perfumes and can find this at a discount I would recommend it. (3.5/5)

A wonderful blend of sweet, tart, and powdery. Think of a soapier version of Insolence, but add just a hint of the jammy accord from Idôle, and you’ve basically got this. Surprisingly, I liked this scent more than I did Desertland.

this one starts like a papery iris, soon followed by peony. generally peony and i are not friends but it seems to be behaving here. later i get some rose and musk but i am primarily finding this to be a peony/iris scent even though iris isn't listed. maybe it's a super dry violet? i'm not sure. for a peony perfume, this one isn't half bad, though i'm still not sure if it's really my personal style. still for this type of fragrance it's thankfully not headache inducing at all.

it's fresh, almost aquatic, but VERY strong. it smells like if the cool girl who wears way too much perfume spent the afternoon at the pool. floral, fresh, almost chlorinated, stings a bit to the nose. not for me, but i could see why someone would like it!

Sniffed from the bottle. I get mega patchouli vibes, like a rose-patchouli from Narciso or something. Heavier and less fruity than the Mon Paris line. Not my vibe but pleasant.

Pretty. Similar to MFK Feminin pluriel or North Bondi by Quai but a bit more powdery.

Once it settles, all I am sensing is Bulgarian rose.

Tried this several times (from one sample) and each time it's an "aquatic plastic" in the opening; high-key, wet peonies and roses. Fresh, clean, and floral, but...not an enjoyable composition to wear. My sample may have turned??** After the initial plastic smell, it becomes slightly woody and fresher. Peony and Bulgarian Rose, yes. Creamy and/or powdery, nope. A soft musk backbone appears with those florals. Overall it's wet florals with a slight musk. High-keyed composition (not quite screechy, but close!). Peony+Roses tend to work with my chemistry as sharp rather than full-bodied florals. **My sample doesn't mention violet and I don't smell it. I don't get Jasmine either, but that is listed in both my sample and the copy above. No amber to my nose despite being listed too. My sample may be from a previous formulation.

I should really like this; it has all of the accords that I love most but Valley of Flowers falls flat for me. I get no violet and no rose. This is mostly a generic peony scent that is linear and rather dull. Very overpriced for what you are getting. I bet there are not more than 3-5 dollars' worth of ingredients in any of these perfumes and the price is around $135 or so a bottle. All of these "perfumes" have a haircare smell about them. Office safe, dull and very forgettable.

I'm using the body wash and lotion, so the EDP may be different. The pomelo really comes out strong, but gradually softens into a clean floral. It's nothing groundbreaking, but it's not supposed to be. It's supposed to be an everyday hair/body scent that doesn't clash with your actual perfume, and that you won't get sick of or notice in the background. It ticks those boxes. I prefer VoF to the cote d azur scent, because it's soapy and fresher. Whoever compared it to Ouai North Bondi is right and wrong at the same time... I have the EDP and leave-in conditioner of North Bondi and it's also a fresh floral, but only the top notes of NB are the same as the base notes of VoF. The best comparison I can think of is Chloe Love Story mixed with North Bondi. Then you'd come closer to VoF. That clean, sharp rose mixed with the creamy freshness, mildly sweet. It's a great buy if you can get a deal on it. Unisex too, it's not screaming hyper-feminine, mainly just a soft, clean skin scent. Try the lotion first, see if you like it.

I'm not one for floral perfumes, so I can't speak much to its details. But I have found here something safe, generic, and reminiscent of the scents of (surprise--) hair care products.
