scents like these are funny. They will never knock your socks off, or make you re-think the meaning of life - but at some point along the way they become a go-to. That's what happened here - a simple peppery citrus, has become my go-to scent. I can't explain it...maybe it's because we're always looking for a homerun and forget that the hits count too...the funny thing is that when i look back over the last 5 years of collecting, i'd imagine if we charted my purchases, you'd see a bell curve. Cheap - expensive and back to cheap. Price and brand rarely make a difference in my overall opinion on a smell and this is proof. Anyway - sorry for the dissertation. This isn't special, but it's a hit. 6/10

I love this one. I am looking for it for nostalgia purposes, but cannot find it anywhere. I bought it for my late bf the first year we dated during our first overnight weekend trip together. He wore it throughout our relationship. I just love the subtle sensual spicy scent, and it combined nicely with the smell of cigarettes.

This is a slept on. If you see it pick it up you won't be disappointed.

Let's start with a positive, it smells nice. A lovely fresh spicy citrus smell. Unfortunately the longevity and sillage let it down. You'll probably get about an hour, hour and a half tops, before that nice smell fades away. Sillage is really poor - people would have to be up close and very personal to even detect the slightest whiff. Yes it's cheap, but you'd have to be a huge fan to buy a full bottle. If you can find a sample (there seems to be plenty online, I got mine from an eBay seller) then give it a try. As an aside I've just read picknenders review which is spot on. This is how I've felt regarding a lot of the cheapies I've tried recently; price and brand don't make a difference. Have a great day :)

A lot of people are off about this one! I get almost a Christmas like feel with this, like a Christmas tree and sweets. It's probably just the woods and the amber combining together along with the spices. It also has a vintage feel to it as well but remaining modern. The price is great and it's easy to find. If you like the other Penguins especially the original I think you'll like this one. You'll also stand out too where others say this is generic and that's where I think others are off. This is a head turner with women. I give this an 86/100.

This is warm and spicy, a nice scent for fall or winter. I wouldn't wear it though unless I were in my mid thirties, it smells like something my dad wore in the 90s but I can't place it. Smells like a 2nd cousin twice removed from Dior Fahrenheit . You can clearly smell the orange but I can't single out the different spices used. Nothing I would purchase for myself, maybe a gift for an older brother or your father.

Really like this one!! Fresh/spicy, masculine and good performance. Maybe my second fav Original Penguin fragrance to day. A great cheapy, don’t let it pass my.

Took a chance and bought this blind and overall I think it's a no from me. I love the original Dior Fahrenheit but having compared them I can't say that they that closely paired. I would call it a distant comparison between Original Penguin Reserve and Dior Fahrenheit. OPR is a green synthetic organic representation of a dry almost powdery diesel and wood scent where as DF is a strong petroleum incarnation all the way. The opening of OPR is the best bit by far and really needed to be the main stay as it has an easy going, inoffensive, fruit-wood-musk aroma. Unfortunately, after about 15-20 minutes this has all gone and you are left with a synthetic, dry-orange-celery-wood (headache inducing) scent closer to a 'chypre' than 'oriental-fougere'.......to my nose anyway. This is just my personal opinion though. My nose can't handle this type of fragrance so although OPR is headache inducing for me there will be many others for whom OPR would be a go-to fragrance for everyday/office use. Definitely sample it and see what you think - it could easily work for you where it didn't for me. Update: After approximately 4-5 hours OPR loses the headache inducing element but also becomes rather bland and generic too. My skin and my nose clearly don't agree with this one. Good on ya to those who fair better with this one than I did.

This stuff is excellent. I just blind bought this today and it ended up being exactly what I wanted. I can't believe there are only 2 reviews on here. It opens with refreshing citruses and spices that are just great. It settles down into a more woody and smooth amber scent, but the spices definitely stick around with a hint of citrus as well. It turns into a very spicy masculine scent. I don't think it's just for older gentleman at all. I do think it takes a man to wear this scent, but I'd say a lot of men in their 20s can easily pull this off. I just put this on a couple hours ago, so I'm not sure on the longevity nor have I had a proper chance to test the performance, but I will update later on. So far though, this is a great scent that can be worn any time of the year in my opinion.

Not bad for what it's selling for ($15-ish for 100 ml). You get a touch of what it says (fruity, spice, wood, etc.), with a hint of sweetness and some musk. You also get a bit of that metallic or particulate woody quality that screams, "I am cheap,"' but I've smelled worse. I only used one spray so more might have led to a more "synthetic" or "chemical" impression. Of course, if you've already got a few hundred bottles, this is not likely one you'll use much, unless you are looking for something "casual" and somehow you don't already own a bottle of this kind of scent.

Smelled it out of the box and it smelled like Solo Loewe. Will report back after a/b comparison. Nice scent. Nothing like Farenheit imho. Kind of smells like a cardboard box! Seems to dissapear very quickly!! Only projects for about an hour or so. This is perfect when you want to smell really good without attracting too much attention. I wore this to a party with older dudes who smoked cigarettes all night and it was great. Enough to smell good without being flirty or feminine. Smells woody and unassuming. Not a first grab but not worth selling.
