Isfarkand

Oh so deliciously peppery-citrus, prickling with extra spice and intrigue, true unisex and intensely INTERESTING as well as classy. Definite shades of the OJ Man/Woman creeping in around the edges with the dry, aromatic sprinklings of cedar dust and oak moss. The vetiver's clean and citric rather than skanky-greeny and all the better for that. Doesn't remind me at all of the mouldy-orange aura which Terre d'Hermes creates on me (female), it's far fresher and cleaner than that - closer to a more nuanced and peppery and slightly sweeter Jo Malone Orange Bitters to me. So, a convincing and charismatic meld of zest and zing and herbal bite. All that action makes it opulent and luxurious-feeling, not just perky and fresh... for the fatally short time this lasts. I would happily wear it all day most days if it would let me - but on my skin this dies completely within 2-3h, which makes it no deal at OJ's prices. So beautiful though - I've heard there is an Intensivo version of this, designed to sort out the performance issues, which would be worth seeking out if your wallet's plump enough to stand the impact. Joyful stuff if cost is no issue.

This is the closest thing I’ve found to my all time favorite, Gucci Envy. Envy is more floral in the top and mid notes while Isfarkand is more a citrus fresh spicy (thanks to the bergamot and pink pepper). The drydown on both is accented with unctuous oakmoss which imparts a sensual self assured vibe. I would say sexy because it makes me feel sexy but it’s not a demure, miniskirt, bat-your-lashes sexy. It’s a look-you-in-the-eye, I-dare-you-to-come-closer-but-keep-your-distance sexy. It’s not Barbie. It’s Wonder Woman. A challenge. For that reason I wear it when I need to bring my A game at work and also when I want to give come-hither vibes. And for that same reason I think Isfarkand would also suit a confident man. Person, really. Truly unisex. Longevity is 10+ hours on me. Sillage is moderate (2 sprays on the neck, 1 walk through spray). I get wafts at hour 10 and beyond but no one but my husband has ever commented on it (that’s totally fine, I don’t like my scents to precede me). A new classic for me.

This should be listed as unisex because I for one would be happy to wear it. The lime, pepper and vetiver open with such a wonderful zingy freshness that really enhances all the cedar beautifully. There maybe iris in there but I find it hard to pick out. This is one to splash on the next morning after too many bevvies the previous night. The lime is quite strong on me but I love it. Lime is in the citrus family but it is far less harsh incomparison to the rest of the family. There is a sweetness which might not be as obvious as orange but it is there. The dry down is all vetiver and cedar. Ive tested Escentric molecules 1 and this has way more delicious character than that rather nondescript smell. Move over fellas this one is also for us gals!

I’ve had this for a while, almost let it go a few times but glad no one grabbed it. I recently got Elysium, which is pretty nice, but realized it smells a lot like this one. This one is more natural and a little heavier on the pink pepper, which I commented on my Elysium review as well, but it’s similar enough. Like I said on my other review, not dupe territory or anything, but this having come out years before I respect the innovation in note blend. Definitely different vibe than other Ormonde fragrances, which is good in my opinion. It’s a lighter fragrance, and not eternal like some OJ offerings, but is good performance for its genre.

so nice, I had to get myself a full bottle. of the Ormonde Jayne scents I’ve tried out, I think this is the one that’s most obviously a Geza Schoen scent. it’s a similar vibe to Escentric Molecules because it’s very laid back and approachable, but it’s much less trendy and more refined, imho. I also think this would make a great gateway chypre style scent, so if you think chypre maybe isn’t your bag, I encourage you to take this one for a spin

Isfarkand Ormonde Jayne Nice peppery zesty lime citrusy opening. Good for the weather here in Singapore, under the hot and warm Sunny day. Lovely Vetiver and drydown and it does reminds me of Hermes TdH. Pretty much all occasions as it's light with some spiciness and limey fresh. Lasts a few hours so resprays needed if you are out longer hours.

This perfume smells like a luxurious ceder lined closet filled with soft cashmere sweaters and clean fresh linen shirts. Not a showstopper but unisex and appropriate for any occasion. Smells more like you and your clothes are clean and well maintained than that you are wearing a perfume.

This one; OJ Champaca and OK Frangipani smells close each other in my opinion. This scent has everything opposite to showing off. Modest, unpretentious spiritually full, happy with their roots type of people's scent. A classic Kensington room. London.

I think all the fresh perfumes from Ormond Jayne have similar vibe, but this one the freshest of them all: beautiful citruses full of juice with some lovely spices and clean vetiver base. It’s quite simple, but it’s nice. Follow me on IG: scent.guide

Out of all the releases from Ormonde Jayne, Isfarkand is my favorite. followed by Montabaco & Amber Royale. I suddenly realized that it actually smells almost exactly like Elysium minus the marine salty note. Perfect for summer and everyday wear.

Pink pepper heaven, it's amazing. I think it's more of a masculine fragrance, it's giving a little bit of a baby powder note too, but that's not a bad thing. It's a great choice for office work. 9/10

Light and spicy! Two words I've never used to describe a perfume, but I love it!

A fragrance for those who want a discreet, refined scent bubble. This one is curious- I’m pretty sure it’s masculine, but something a bit feminine also flits about throughout its lifespan. Based in the notes listed, however, I can’t imagine what that might be. You’ll definitely get the iso-e and pepper, vetiver in the drydown. I swear there’s a floral note hidden in here: an effect similar to the chamomile note in Baldessarini Cologne (now there’s an obscure reference for you!). It gives it a softness that belies the listed notes. Isfarkand is not a banger, pantry dropper, room-filler, head turner, beast mode, or any other term from the fragrance world vernacular. It sits quite apart from any modern trend (no sugar here!) which makes it refreshing to wear. Inoffensive and light, but surprisingly decent performance. Do I enjoy it? Yes. But it may be too austere to love.

A craftily constructed minimalist woody chypre, Isfarkand on the surface is your safe office masculine leaning scent like Terre D'Hermes but as it begins to settle you see the richness and high quality of ingredients slowly reveal themselves in discreet layer after layer. The perfume opens like most chypres in a cloud of citrus with bergamot, mandarin orange and lime. There is a brief pink pepper heart and the perfume settles into a mossy woody base of vetiver, oakmoss and cedar. A bit boring and safe but not as boring as you think as it begins to evolve. Unisex masculine leaning with moderate projection and sillage and good longevity. Eminently wearable. Enjoy!

This is a delight. Bright, sweet citrus with some pepper. The card that my sample is attached to claims there's an iris note in it somewhere, but I couldn't pick it up. It's like an even more transparent Terre D'Hermes, though this obviously predates Terre. It's very reflective of Geza Schoen's style, if you've tried any of his Escentric range - Escentric 03 is similar though that is more about the vetiver than this. Ormonde Jayne's scents are more reasonably priced than some other niche brands, and Isfarkand makes a good case for its price. If I didn't already have so many other scents that are similar to this, I'd probably pick it up.

This one surprised me by starting out woody, citrusy and a little “sweaty-musky”. I don’t know why, but I’d been expecting a feminine floral oriental, so the light dryness was a pleasant depature from that image. The predominant wood is cedar, probably underscored with some Iso E Super as well as some black agar or other synthetic woody note that gives it the “sweaty” feel. There’s a little bit of spiciness, presumably from the pink pepper, but I wouldn’t call the composition spicy at all. Towards the end, the vetiver in the base becomes prominent. There’s lots of sillage and it is long-lasting, at least 8-10 hours. I like it a lot.

This is a really nice, light unisex scent that leans a bit masculine. It feels elegant and refined.

I don't get any of the top notes in this scent. It smells like a strong blast of pepper for the first hour and then dries down to its warmer, woody base. It doesn't smell BAD - I just don't want to smell like freshly cracked pepper and then a basic warm wood. I think it'd be a good layering scent though - or more complex for noses that pick up the citrus notes. Maybe I just got a bad sample.
