Élégance Royale 115

Élégance Royale 115 is from 2022 and is part of the duo called Les Châteaux (The Castles, in French), together with Mystère Royal 084. The fragrances were inspired by the parties held in the castles of the Loire Valley. Once again, Nathalie Lorson was the nose behind this creation, in addition to signing several other fragrances for O.U.i, such as Iconique 001 Intense and Scapin 245. As in Mystère Royal 084, at the heart of this creation, we also have the Royal Lily accord, the flower that symbolizes French royalty, always associated with King Louis VIII. The fragrance of Élégance Royale 115 is classified as floral-fresh and brings notes of lavender and bergamot, at the top; royal lily and violets, in the heart; vanilla, sandalwood, and patchouli, at the base. On the skin, the fragrance opens with fresh, floral notes, with green facets, providing a sense of innate elegance. Lavender gives the initial touch, but you can notice a lot of rose. So, if you are reading this review, you will think: “There is no rose in the declared olfactory pyramid”. However, there is rose! Most of the O.U.i fragrances contain a dose of the L’Essence de Grasse accord, an essential oil created from the five Grasse harvests: rose, lavender, mimosa, violet leaves, and sage. And here, this accord is very present! As it evolves, the lily becomes predominant, evoking the atmosphere of the lush gardens of French castles, those that form labyrinths. Then, the violet begins to exude and reveals a slightly powdery and unique scent. It is impossible not to notice it! As time goes by, the vanilla gains strength and provides a delicate and creamy dry down, which prolongs the floral effect. The performance is satisfactory, with good projection in the first hours and a lasting effect that lasts throughout the day, becoming more intimate as time goes by. Élégance Royale 115 is balanced and captivating. It is a fragrance that adapts well to different temperatures, maintaining its presence both in warmer climates and on milder days. For me, it proved to be a versatile option for those looking for a fresh floral perfume with a touch of nobility.
