L’Hysope

Perfume doce e delicado. Combina com ocasião mais casuais, mas se encaixa bem em outros momentos também. É aquele perfume que não tem dia e nem hora para usar, pois fica bem com tudo.

Obviously, the creative concept of L’Hysope revolves around hyssop, an aromatic herb with small purple flowers (sometimes white) popularly called “Alfazema de Caboclo” in Brazil, although it is from different genera. Hyssop leaves have a slightly bitter taste and an intensely aromatic and camphorated smell. A famous French liqueur, Chartreuse, contains this plant in its composition. Hyssop was mentioned in the Bible and is widely used to make infusions. The olfactory composition of L’Hysope begins with fruity top notes of pear, apricot, and fig, providing a fresh and juicy opening. When it touches the skin, it feels like a minty fig bathed by the pear juice, but very light. As it evolves, the aromatic side becomes more noticeable. In the body of the fragrance, we have jasmine, freesia, and mimosa, and although it seems that the effect will be extremely floral, the result is greener and more aromatic. It’s hard to believe, but the jasmine here is a supporting actor and the mimosa is the star of the show. The base of the olfactory pyramid brings notes of patchouli, musk, and labdanum, adding depth and helping to maintain a long-lasting effect. Sometimes I feel a smoky effect as if incense were burning in the distance. It’s the most pleasant part of the dry down! For me, the problem was that they didn’t use (or at least didn’t list) the essential oil of the ingredient to which the fragrance refers, which is hyssop. It exists, is obtained through steam distillation, has a sweet, camphoraceous aroma, and has been used in countless fragrances. Having it in the composition would make much more sense than simply interpreting it. That said, L’Hysope Eau de Parfum is an interpretation of the purity of hyssop, offering an olfactory experience that combines fruity freshness, floral elegance, and incense-like depth with great performance. And I really think that this Fleurs Éternelles collection by O.U.i delivers a lot of quality for an extremely fair price.
