Darcy

Arresting, sweet, patchouli jasmine fragrance with some citrus notes. I do get hints of lemon and lime, especially in the topnotes; but the body of Darcy is primarily jasmine, musk, and a sleek, refined aromatic patchouli. I see where the Coco Mlle comparison is coming from; but Darcy feels more opulent, much less laundry-like than CM. It is a fragrance that will surprise you, even stun you, upon first impression. It is distinct from the latter, perhaps more formal and serious in the velvety opulence it exudes. Perhaps if you once enjoyed Coco Mlle or similar profiles, but have tired from their commonality or synthetic-ness, I suggest the upgrade to Darcy. She'll make you fall in love with a modern take on a classic floral chypre all over again. But be aware the full drydown of Darcy is completely different from CM; being a gorgeous & highly sophisticated musky, slightly herbal and aromatic jasmine woods. It's a lovely composition 😌. Easily unisex.

This really doesn't smell "just like Coco Mademoiselle" to me. I own the whole Coco line so it's easy for me to compare them. I will concede that there are some notes in common, but Darcy is very special! It has a plush, chewy texture along with being much warmer and much less citrusy/ zingy, with much less sharp patchouli. I can't figure it out but it just has something about it that's so sensual and gorgeous, maybe a musky accord that comes out in the dry down. Fragrantica used to use a praline-like image for the "sweet notes" and I felt that suited the fragrance better. Now it's some sugary/fruity candy, but that's not what you get here. It's more smooth and inviting than that. Anyway, I love this fragrance! Thank you for reading my review ❤

Patchouli done right! This fragrance is right up my alley, as I love a dense, rich-but-not-over-the-top patchouli with sweet accords. The patchouli is present from opening to dry-down. Not a 'dirty' patchouli, but voluptuous... sensual... warm... In the opening it deliciously melts together with the citrus notes. Not before long, another sweet note joins in lending a gourmand touch to the blend. My nose tells me it's pralines and it brings to mind these in-chocolate-covered-orange-segments, delicious! When the citrus notes tone down, the rose reveals it's, sensual, velvety soft petals, which play around with sweet, delicate praline notes and patchouli. Moderate to long lasting with moderate to soft sillage. ♥♥♥♥♥

I do not like Coco but l love PDM D'arcy. I know to many frags this won't make sense but to me she is everything Coco hoped to be but for me she just couldn't quite make it. I tried ALL the Coco flankers but for me D'arcy was a love at first sniff. It's creamier and the screechiness my nose detects in Coco isn't in D'arcy for me. I love a clean sexy patchouli not that dirty, old hippy patchouli. This is a perfect scent to me. I think date night in the fall/winter or a cool spring but l kind of the a dressy daytime day drinking event during those seasons. I don't know if it's truly office safe but l love it. If you are like me in a small but very loud minority that abhors Coco, try D'arcy.

I'd bet on that "horsy", on that thoroughbred "horsy" :) Darcy - amazing perfume : thick, lush, bright, the sweetness here is not usual & not familiar. I would say that it sweetness dustely- dry as a hay in the stable. In the aroma i guess the barberry lollipops, dried citrus peels, valuable species of wood and roses, covered with jasmine powder and they melt on the skin so magically, putting me on an aura of hot chypre notes. At the finish it turns into grassy-woody sounding. Darcy Parfums de Marly is loud & intriguing scent. Coco Mademoiselle of course will not replace, but in this fragrance reads the same dignity.

I love Darcy. So underrated i think. Does it have a familiar Dna? Yes, does it smell like a designer perfume? NO. PArfums de Marly quality is front and center, so natural smelling. This is a rich, earthy, chocolatey vibe with a hint of fresh on top. Very thick, plush, dense, cozy yet opulent. A total fall perfume if you ask me. I think of brown, amber and gold tones. Velvet comes to mind. This one can be elegant, casual as well but in a chic way. This smells expensive and feminine. The patchuli is done well, it doesn’t smell dirty, but earthy and warm. A hidden fall winter gem.

I’m surprised at the negative reviews. This smells lovely to my nose. Both my mom and I bought bottles after trying this as the store. It smells sweet, floral and expensive. My mom and I are 30 years apart but this works great for both of us. I love Coco Mademoiselle but to my nose these don’t smell the same. This is Darcy is much more grown up. This is a perfect signature scent and could easily work for many occasions. Is this groundbreaking? No. But sometimes I just want to smell beautiful and that’s definitely this fragrance.

This is subtle ,pretty and totally intoxicating. It's one of those scents that you can't stop thinking about after your first test. This is a confident woman who doesn't need to shout or scream about anything. Wearing this,you will be noticed,but this is understated elegance. I need Darcy in my life. I cannot live without out it. I'm saving now! A day later and I still love my tester. The dry down is a less sweet slightly muskier than Coco Mademoiselle, with far more intrigue and sophistication. Beautiful.

This reminded me of Coco Mademoiselle as well. I really enjoy wearing my travel-sized bottle which came with the discovery set but would not buy a full bottle as I would go for Coco Mademoiselle (intense) instead, as it is way cheaper. There might be some nuances for sure and it might last longer (?) But that doesn't justify the much higher price point IMHO. If I would want to splurge that amount of money I would go for Coromandel which is also beautiful plus has niche quality.

I received a vial of this today and I have to say I knew nothing of this house, But now I do!! Oh boy! The citrus mingled with Patchouli is so dang good. But the best part is the sweetness it's like a very nice candied rose... And the sandalwood is present but not too much. It kind of reminds me of Montale roses elixir but not as sticky in the sweetness. Beautiful but FB worthy? No, but absolutely decant worthy...

Tom Ford's Black Orchard. That's what this reminds me of. And just like Black Orchard this has tenacious staying power and sillage. I'm a middle aged woman and this is a "younger" fragrance to my nose. A club fragrance, specifically. Its edgy, complex and deep. I like it but the long drydown is not a enjoyable as it could be

This perfume feels fresh and bright from the first spray — the citrus notes wake me up and instantly put me in a good mood. The floral heart is soft and romantic, while the dry-down is creamy and comforting, leaving a smooth, warm trail on my skin.

I am the oddball out. I love this. It smells like fig on me. 😳 I’m new to the fragrance world but it smells like a beautiful fig fragrance :)

I love this! I reminds me of Coco Mad, but not as sharp. I don't understand how anyone could strongly dislike it.

It is very lively in top and mid notes. Finish is lightweight and musky - wisper soft. Reminds me of parfum concentration of Coco Mademoiselle. It's sparkly, soft, feminine and polished, I am tempted to buy it - a big bottle of a perfect impression of the Coco Mademoiselle Parfum, mmm, it lifts better from my skin, too. The new Chanel products like Coco M Intense do not smell alive but castrated in sterile white lab. Darcy does not. In a way I am happy the most loved and feminine scents are immortalized and perfected by Parfums de Marly. Surely a woman or a man in love wanted to save them and polish them to maximum beauty and pleasure. @mejevika - Coco Mademoiselle is close to 200 Euro my place and one of the few I immediately bought upon its release. I also regularly buy other scented products from its range whenever I am out of any. Which is why I feel confused when reading your comment. No one forces you to buy Darcy. Why do you think it is o.k to devaluate 2 great scents after sniffing them once and never using?

I really enjoy this scent. The patchouli is very very pretty in combination with the jasmine and rose. It’s a beautifully warm and feminine scent. Pretty unique to my nose. I can kind of see the comparison to Miss Dior. They have vaguely similar DNA, but Miss Dior is much more generic & has more crowd appeal imo. Miss Dior smells like every single airport Duty Free section; Darcy smells like Miss Dior’s extremely wealthy and sultry older cousin. I can also see why some people might say it’s unisex, but I couldn’t see a man pulling this off. It’s a little too sweet for me to classify it as unisex. I think the citrus + woods combo is what makes some people feel like it’s more masculine. This has meh sillage. I wish it were stronger so I could justify the price. I love the scent (probably my 2nd fave from PDM) but it’s not strong enough to warrant $320 price tag. I would spend $150 on this max. Maybe one day I’ll buy it... 7/10

So syrupy it is in summer. A classic fruitchouli very similar to Coco Mademoiselle, Ysl Mon Paris or Miss Dior Cherie and Pour Elle Mauboussin. I feel medicinal tones today. And it feels deep. Honeyed flowers, citruses, patchouli and woods. Its winter and autumn wear was much lighter. Like a lighthearted musky Coco M. But in 21° it is heavy. Like a liquer. Beautiful like the other fruitchoulis, but so Coco M... It feels like a dupe. But now that I wear it in summer it feels heavier than the Chanel. When I opened it afresh in winter it was exactly like Coco M. parfum, lighthearted and musky, now it matured into a heavier aroma. It lost its lightess. And it is a skin scent after 5 hours. Coco M. has a stellar performance in comparison and is much more complex.

Respectfully I have to disagree with some prior reviews here. This can absolutely be a mans scent. It's not that far off from Le Male. Opens with a blast of citrus and sugar and woods. Drys down fast though and while it remains sweet and creamy, it looses some charm. Not as long lasting as I had hoped (not that most PDM are). Shorter then average longevity for a PDM on my skin and virtually no sillage make this a "no" for me. Scent 7/10 unique and very pleasant but not the best. Sillage 2/10 basically none. Projection 5/10 it had a small projection eary on but quickly diminished. Longevity 4/10 only got 3 hours of real skin scent after the near-immediate drydown.
