Damsel

Reviewing Damsel from parfumskarmichues This is a part of their Americana collection which has 3 perfumes! First spritz on my skin and paper and it feels like a breeze of air on a rainy day. Close your eyes, visualize a pond full of different flowers and you sit there breathing, relishing life, thinking about the person you love and how it feels to be around them! That's exactly what this smells like. One liner review would be a very unique aquatic floral, if aquatic can encompass smell of a waterbody. But this is more complex than that. The "aquatic"- ness is probably from the ambergris and it gives the pond like feel lurking throughout the day. I die for the smell of lotuses and I feel there's a "Karmic" connection between me and Lotus, so this fragrance has lotus and it's unique and it smells divine. There's something animalic about this fragrance that attracts the opposite sex. Though there's a mention of Oud and Benzoin etc are mentioned for a reference, I feel this leans more towards the floral elements and such a beautiful representation at that. The fragrance has beautiful transitions between the floral and a woody musky dry down. To my nose I can smell the lotus throughout. This fragrance can be worn by any sex without diving into much thought. I wear this pretty often. This is no way just feminine, a fragrance named damsel is loved by all. I would go a step ahead and say no way this Damsel is in distress, rather this Damsel sings an eloquent tale of harmony and peace, and she brings with her an ample amount of tease too! Do you remember the episode of the Wild Thornberrys where Debbie gathers ingredients in the jungle to make a multi-beneficial herbal shampoo before getting chased by bees? This is the scent of that shampoo. I only wear this when I'm doing something outdoors, as it's quite complex and seems to perform (at least on me) in a more palatable way when tousled around a bit by the elements.

Fits the description of the painting on the packaging sleeve so well. I would fall head over heels for a woman who wears this. That said, this is not feminine, it's actually very Tom boyish and rebellious. The smell of a woman's skin, with outlaw elements like dirt from the landscape, worn out leather, etc Something very arousing about the fragrance. Well done Parfums Karmic Hues.
