Pineapple Vintage Intense

Okay okay, maybe not the the king, but it is certainly mopping the floor in several categories that Aventus failed in. Of course this is all opinionated and this review may be attacked by the Aventus community, but I do urge all users -- especially Aventus users -- to give PVI an honest shot and an open mind. Aventus's jealous, little brother PVI picks up on the shortcomings of Aventus's longevity and compliments from the opposite gender, while shooting out more layers of pineapple all around. As far as CDNI goes, I love CDNI from being a cheap Aventus substitute, but PVI hits closer to Aventus's home and starts playing big bad wolf. Opening and middle notes you will be hammered with that pineapple freshness. Opening is a bit harsh, in my opinion, but give it a few minutes to dry. Upon some hours of dry-drown you will start to get a woody musk still accompanied by the pineapple. You think pineapple would be obvious through-and-through if a product is named "Pineapple Vintage", but you would be surprised on how many other colognes brag about a certain note that is only noticeable during opening OR a period of dry-down. I do want to note: you almost "need" the Intense version, but let me get into that with performance. Here is where PVI starts to catch up and pass Aventus....performance. Longevity: above average and then some. Projection: above average. Notice I do not need to rant or rave about the performance, as Creed has started losing its touch in performance of Aventus (and other fragrances). Where Creed fails in projection and lasting power, PVI only needs a slight push to pop on over. Now, I had bad luck with my batch of CDNI for performance, but I do believe CDNI has better performance between the three. This next part is a bit hard as for choosing occasions and seasons with PVI. Aventus and CDNI I believe can be pulled off year-round if done properly, but due to the extra bit of freshness on the opening and middle note of PVI, PVI will suffer a bit in the Winter and possibly Fall. Other than that, feel free to pull this bad boy out 24/7 during Spring and Summer, and reap the benefits! Lastly, here is where not only does PVI kick dust into Aventus, but PVI brings out a shovel and starts throwing dirt. Compliments from the opposite gender are now ZERO problem! That is right; where Aventus had some issues getting your woman to love it, PVI will swoon her. That isn't saying much, as CDNI also kicks Aventus in the shin as far as compliments from women, but PVI just scoffs and rolls with the odds. This is probably the biggest win over Aventus and its overpriced scent DNA. If I am going to pay hundreds then I better get many compliments instead of an "yeah it's okay" or "it is alright". I am not saying Aventus won't get raving reviews from women, but all women I know have liked PVI on me over Aventus (as well as many unsolicated compliments). IMPORTANT SHIPPING NOTE: There are many reviews that both PVI and/or Parfum Vintage for their long shipping times and customer service. I have not attempted to contact heir customer service, but let me make an observation about the shipping. There is a note or two at different points on certain Parfum Vintage products that bottling and shipping is not done immediately. These products are shipped out in waves, so please read the product and confirmation pages carefully before expecting your product to arrive quick. Also, I did not have any issues with a leaking bottle, but I know some users have had some complaints with this. Overall, I know I bashed Aventus much this review, but it cannot sustain the title of "king" when there are clones (to name a couple) like PVI and CDNI that can get the job done and arguably do it better. PVI simply performs better, grabs the compliments better, and may even garner your love more than Aventus. Do not get me wrong; no cologne out there smells exactly like Aventus, so do not buy PVI thinking you just bought a cheaper, better Aventus. PVI is very cose to Aventus and in my testings (and preference) better than Aventus, but it is not an exact replica of Aventus. All in all, Creed has to step up their performance if they want a non-biased love for Aventus, as Parfum Vintage came in hard to grab not only Aventus lovers' attention but also the attention of the women. PVI will be the first on my official reviews to gain the coveted "loved" category over the liked and disliked scents. I do highly recommend this fragrance and give it a chance if you are a young man leading anywhere up to or around an older man. It is a unique and a compliment-grabber contender to Aventus without the pricetag of Aventus. Unless you have a hard on and the need for Aventus, PVI will pay in dividends.

Okay, I have deleted my previous review. I checked my bottles, and they are from 2016 and 2017, not 2018. So, my earnest apology; I have not been blessed with the displeasure of sniffing the "shit" smell you are all getting. However, as an aside, chew on this ... I have a 2016 decant of Creed Aventus that has a strange shit smell to it when I smell the sprayer, but disappears once it hits the skin. Man, I don't know what is going on! None of my other Creed Aventus years do that, and I had never noticed it before. Strange. Anyway, I then decided to head over to Parfums Vintage's website to buy another bottle of Pineapple Vintage Intense, and lo and behold, there are NO 100ml bottles available until September! Folks, I would wager to guess that they have finally realized that there is a serious issue here and they are working on said issue. Again, my sincere apology for my earlier review. I thought I had a newer bottle but didn't. That being said, I have Rasasi Zebra, Armaf Club De Nuit Intense, 2017 Parfums Vintage, and the 2016 Creed Aventus here beside me. I just did a blind smell test for the first time with the most-awesome wife, and she chose them in the following order of favorite to least favorite. 1. Creed Aventus (2016) 2. Rasasi Zebra 3. Parfums Vintage (2017) 4. Armaf Club De Nuit Intense Man (She said this one was too lemony) Take care, all, and I will be editing this review in September after the new 100ml bottle release from Parfums Vintage goes into effect. Fingers crossed that the DNA has been repaired and returned to its former, juicy and insatiable, glory! UPDATE as promised: YES, the opening smells bad, but not like "shit," as most reviewers are saying; it is, most definitely, like a foot, literally. It is the strangest scent from any house I have ever put my nose to. It mellows out and down to what it is supposed to be after about 3 minutes and 45 seconds per spray. Odd, this is. NONE of the other flankers do this. Lastly, as someone else suggested, put it in the refrigerator, the cold takes it down a notch, and the foot smell only lasts about 30 seconds. Sad, that this has occurred. UPDATE #2: I bought a bottle of Beyond Noir at Labor Day, and I got the special, which included two decants, on of them being the new Intense Gold. NOTE: The opening to Intense Gold smells of foot also! What in blue hell is Damien Stammers doing over there?

I'm so excited to review the rollercoaster of emotions with this fragrance and other "clones". I just wanna add I have never smelled any batch of the original Aventus Creed if that lowers any credibility of this review. I also wanna say I have smelled so many clones that include 1. Alexandria Fragrances version 2. Dua's version 3. Club de nuit intense men 4. Mont Blanc explorer 5. L'Aventure Al Haramain That being said none of them are identical clones of the real deal but are a close enough wannabe from what I've seen others say. I can truly say after smelling all of them I also just asked myself "Thats it?'. It never made me drool, and I just kept telling myself I wouldn't buy anymore fragrances with identical DNA or wannabes because I just couldn't see the hype, until smelling this one. Day 1: When it came in the mail I decided lets see if this one is a failure like the others and sprayed it on my hand. At the first initial blast you get a huge pineapple and I have never smelled it on any other clone from before. It intrigued me, and for once I was amazed at how it smelled. Throughout the day I kept getting whiffs and while I wasn't amazed I thoroughly enjoyed it and I felt relief that I didn't have to sell this one like the others. Day 2: It was my work day, and while I thought it was a bit risky to wear something I wasn't 100% inlove with (not yet atleast) I talked myself into spraying myself with it. I did 3 sprays and again the first initial spray I got a huge burst of pineapple. I enjoyed it much more than my first wearing to the point I kept smelling my forearm consistently. A few hours in I was catching whiffs and I WAS HOOKED. Day 3: After wearing it to work the day prior, I decided I just wanted to wear it again to make sure I wasn't just dreaming because the previous "clones" let me down so much. Nothing new happened but I enjoyed it the more I smelled it and ended the day with 3 compliments which is insane for me because I don't get them often. Now I am by no means a professional fragrance expert. I have around 30 fragrances in my collection, and I can say this has easily climbed to my top 5. Again I have never smelled the original Aventus or any batches. Regardless if this is anything like the original aventus just WOW. This is absolutely incredible. Definitely recommend getting a sample for anyone who has doubts. Rating: 8.25/10

I received my Pineapple Vintage Intense from Parfums Vintage today and, having "classic/original" and Noir already, and loving both, I needed to get to that Intense! First impression? From the notes breakdown it seems they removed birch from the opening notes and blackcurrant leaf from the heart. It is definitely different than "classic" to a noticeable degree (as is the improved sprayer). This Intense is NOT nearly as pineapple-centric as its predecessors (that I love by the way). I want to say that initially this is a better clone of an average bottle of Aventus, but we're tired of those cliched comparisons so I won't. What I will say is that the fresh and/or roasted pineapple accord of original Pineapple Vintage and even smoke-infused Noir, is not dominant, it is subdued here, riding shotgun while the base notes drive this fragrance. The scent is a level more dense than its parent(s). Richer, more mature and serious. Where "original" painted a great two dimensional picture of golden ripe pineapple in its opening and mid, this Intense is a balanced and maybe even more linear 3-D image to behold. Impressive juice! Need all three though? I was expecting that to be easy to answer. It's not! These Parfums Vintages are all similar to each other to a high enough degree to act as backup bottles of a sort to each other, yet they're actually different enough to be worthy of individual consideration on their own merit. Not unlike different batches of Aventus might be. So, yeah, you COULD buy 'em all and not feel like they were redundant purchases. That's where I'm coming from any way. But I'd like more time with all three, to have a vintage orgy, before I make any such formal recommendations here although I already feel I personally want, need, all three in my collection/repertoire. I URGE others less familiar to buy a discounted (or two or more non-discounted) three-fragrance-sample set. Not only are the sizes pretty liberal but this approach will be very useful in decision making and I am confident those new to these scents will have a great time trying and comparing and contrasting them all.

I got a sample in January with the Emperor Extrait and Vanilla Intense. I have to say that I was surprised that these 3 different offerings were all very different in their own way. It was PV Intense which I've heard so much about and finally made me go on the website for a sample and the Emperor caught my eye as it appeared to be the new one as I've not seen any reviews anywhere about that one and the most expensive by far. I got a 100ml bottle in February for $119 on their website. PV Intense is not what I imagined because from the first spritz it is a natural almost photo realistic pineapple note. The interesting aspect is that it doesn't just die off like it does in Creed Aventus which is more on the woody citrus side. With the Pineapple comes in layers but certainly doesn't feel synthetic so there must be a healthy does of Bergamot under pinning the Pineapple accord. I sense a little Black currant to keep it juicy and also some vibrancy - perhaps Juniper or camphorous uplifting note humming under everything else which gives it a sparkling effect and not a sour flat note. The birch is well balanced and there is just enough Patchouli to provide a woody balance but the beauty of the Pineapple is the centre stage here with the woods playing second fiddle. This reminds me of a 2015 or 2016 Aventus batch and is certainly stronger than a 2018 Aventus bottle that I bought and sold very quickly. I'm not sure what Creed are doing but the complexity of Aventus has long ago been gutted from the composition from when it was GREAT. Overall I'd say that PV Intense is versatile and I could see myself wearing it in all seasons except for winter. It's almost signature scent worthy 9/10 scent profile 10/10 value 8/10 versatility Conclusion: I prefer Emperor Extrait but PV Intense is their best value offering as I'm sure that there will be plenty of people who have never tried the old Aventus batches which Emperor gets very close to. In it's own right PV Intense is 9/ 10
