December Vanilla

I bought this thinking it would be a great layering tool and would have no depth to it. I was soooo wrong...it has all the wrong development notes for me. It starts out great...but ends up horrible. This starts out with RUM-CREAMY-VANILLA and it goes straight into Vanilla, Oud and Patchouli in the mid. The floral notes, amber and musk aren't immediately obvious to me when worn and no sign of the ever-listed-but-never-smelled "Creme Brulee" note. However, this frag lasts FOR-EVER on skin and clothes if you're looking for a nuclear-longevity frag. EDIT: I did the "Fridge Maceration" technique on this frag and it appears to have slightly-tamed the disgustingly obnoxious "Oud" notes in it. I have only tested it on paper, but it appears to have fixed it some. Still a metric TON of patchouli in it though...So now it smells like Booze, Creamy Vanilla and a TON of Patchouli with Oud lurking in the background....that's almost acceptable....moreso than the evil Oud cloud it fronted before forced maceration. The projection and wear-time also appear to have stayed the same....nuclear, so thats good. However, it dries down to pure sour Patchouli with Oud now....still a yuck...not a yum. Back in the closet it goes...if it doesn't improve by the spring, in the donation bin it goes. (06MAR25 UPDATE:) It has finally fully matured after over 3 months sitting in the closet! Now when I spray it, it goes on as boozy-vanilla...and STAYS boozy-vanilla with a slight patchouli hint. I've been wearing it as a base-layer to other fragrances all week and it's done the job that is described by others. A nice soft creamy-boozy vanilla that projects a large bubble around me and leaves a nice trail for 5 hours. This....I like! A LOT!! (I just bought a backup bottle...which will be sprayed 10 times and set aside to mature for 3-4 months while I wear this first bottle almost daily) NOT A SAFE BLIND BUY! MACERATION ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED BEFORE WEAR!!! DEC2024 = 3/10 MAR2025 = 8/10

Now that I think about it...this fragrance is the exact story of a harsh nights journey to the club... This fragrance starts out all sweet and VANILLA when you're at home getting dressed up and looking great. Then you get to the club and the drinks start pouring and everything smells like RUM. Next you know...you're wasted and can barely walk and they throw you in an old NYC cab that smells like old dusty LEATHER and the sickening AMBER of a thousand funky buttcracks that have been on those seats. The hippie cab driver reeks of PATCHOULI and weed like he just left a Phish concert. Then as the cab gets to your address you sloppily pay them and stumble out only to trip and fall into dog poop on the NYC sidewalk, the smell that wafts up from your hand to your nose smells of fecal OUD and makes you gag. As you try to smear the poop off your hand onto the pavement and grass you have nothing but regerts from a night that ended horribly...but started out so well... "December Vanilla" IS this horrid experience (to me) and exemplifies "a night gone wrong" within it's "scent gone wrong" fragrance development. You believe that everything is going to be wonderfully gourmand and sweet when you first put it on...but it develops into a fecal Oudy-Patchouli nightmare as you wear it. Heinous... (07MAR25 UPDATE) Just so everyone knows....I'm eating crow....by the shovel-full. This fragrance has turned amazing after 3 months of maceration. I just bought a backup bottle. (>_<) (21MAY25 UPDATE) I just bought a clone similar to this but bigger bottle for the price.... "Fragrance World - Elysia Sugar Patchouli" I can't get enough of this note combination.

With the name December Vanilla, I was curious if this will be another overtly sweet generic vanilla bomb perfume as I pulled the trigger to blind buy online. I was blown away by the composition of this fragrance from the first spray and I waited impatiently to see if it will morph into something that will leave me disappointed. It didn’t. It stayed true and remained absolutely amazing. This is what a boozy vanilla with some florals should smell like. I absolutely adore this fragrance and I am not limiting it to December because it smells too good to keep in my closet without adorning myself with it. I used to love vanilla scents a lot until the fragrance brands decided to over load us with sugary, vanilla scents and it has become boring and common. I don’t like to smell like everyone else and with December Vanilla, I don’t have to worry about that and you can easily layer this with an oud perfume oil to take it to another level of depth and sensory delight. I reserve it for when I am attending events where I want to smell like a Queen that is powerful yet approachable. I haven’t had the chance to try the original scent by Kayali, so I’ll write impartially, without comparing it to other fragrances. The fragrance opens with a beautiful vanilla orchid note that feels very soft, slightly sweet, and powdery. There’s also a hint of alcohol, but it’s very delicate and smooth. Next, the fragrance reveals a crème brûlée note, adding a subtle burnt sugar note—just like the crust on crème brûlée. I also sense the creamy, milky aspect of this dessert. Although oud is listed in the notes, I don’t really detect it. Maybe there’s the slightest hint in the background. Despite the listed notes, the fragrance is quite airy and elegant. Nothing stands out too much or feels loud—it’s all very refined! If I had been given a blind test, I would have thought this fragrance was comparable to a luxury composition. For anyone seeking a beautiful, elegant vanilla, I’d recommend giving this fragrance a try 👆🏻 It seems like it would be equally suited for both women and men, and personally, I’d wear it in cooler weather. Longevity: 8 hours + on my skin.

I just got my bottle in the mail and at first sniff, I don't know what folks are talking about, this fragrance is 🔥🔥🔥🔥. It's a sexy, rich & decadent vanilla, especially in the dry down. This my friends isn't just a typical vanilla fragrance imo, it's a vanilla journey that tells a beautiful story.The rum in this is very well done , and usually rum is a challenging note for me, it's not harsh or alcoholic but more of an essense and just when you think it's all it has to offer, then enters the crem brule note that ever so seductively ushers in the deep sexy vanilla and sweet patchouli with grace & class. This full journey, all the way to and through the dry down is simply AMAZING. This can be enjoyed by a male or female (unisex fragrance) but it does lean a little towards the fem side I must say Paris Corner has done it again. pleasant surprise and addition to my winter collection.

December Vanilla - This stuff smells so good, I just want to start licking - Lmbo. I am so serious!! My birthday is in December, so I purchased DV as an early birthday gift to myself. And yes indeed, this did not disappoint. I am not usually a “back-up” bottle type of person, but DV is back-up bottle worthy. On the sweet side, it’s a nice warm cream brûlée laced in rum & vanilla, but then it takes a more serious tone with the leather, patchouli and oud. It’s an intoxicating sort of fragrance with a mature yet modern element. I am so impressed with DV. I am impressed with the packaging, impressed with the bottle which has the notes listed on the backside, and I am definitely impressed with this scent profile. Performance & sillage are both on point. Hands down one of the best vanilla fragrances in my collection!! This is a 10/10 for me!! Happy perfuming dolls. B- ❤️

Update a few more weeks later : the scent stays on clothes and it's got almost a ( very very little) black orchid vibe. I just wish the booze note would be prominent. Oh my my... just received this and had to try at least 1 spray. Ok so first impression( the bottle hasn't even reached ambiental temperature after delivery) some very interesting hazelnuty, sugary, leathery smell. After 10-15 mins smells a bit muddy, mushroomy with some coated jacket leather scent - still very interesting to me, it's definitely not unappealing, more leathery than anything else. It definitely has the potential to be amazingly sexy.. A tiny tiny bit a distant cousin of TF Black Orchid Parfum which is exquisite! Give it some 1-2 weeks of maceration and I'll come back with an update.

I had two deliveries today- December Vanilla and Vanilla Powder from Matiere Premiere. Gotta say that I'm really smelling a resemblance! I found a 15 ml of December Vanilla at TJ Maxx, sprayed it on, loved it but talked myself out of it as I have so many vanilla fragrances. But as I was shopping, I kept catching beautiful wafts of the most gorgeous rich vanilla with a spicy finish that was just intoxicating! I rolled back over to the fragrances but someone had snatched it up! I was saddened but not surprised as it really is a good one and very inexpensive! So- smelling both side by side- the opening is very much similar but that's where it ends. I'm thrilled to have this one though as it is so lovely and really does perform well!

Found a .5 ml of this at TJ maxx and was floored since I’d been stalking it on this site. First whiff in the container and I was unsure but I proceeded to purchase. There is definitely some rose (and I do not enjoy florals) but on my skin it is the creamiest spiced vanilla crème brûlée with brown sugar on top. I wanted a sweeter version K28 (which has a bit of a medicinal note to me), and even though this is a dupe of an entirely different fragrance, that’s exactly what I got! The brown sugar is amped up and there is an intense sweet but savory vibe coming from the patchouli I assume. This is my first review so hopefully this makes sense but I love this and just ordered a full bottle.

I imagine this is what Christmas Day smells like if you're a millionaire. This scent is addictive. I wish I could turn this scent into a dessert, it is so edible. Definitely starts with a boozy note which I typically wouldn't like but it is very smooth here. Then there is almost a nutty scent that comes through even though there are no nut notes - perhaps this is the patchouli that everyone is picking up. It definitely reminds me of burnt sugar on the dry down which is where the creme brulee is coming in. The amber works beautifully with vanilla. Keen to do a wear test on this one and see how long it lasts. Overall, this is such a smooth, rich scent that might be one of my favorites.

This is mesmerising. Got a sample that came from a well macerated bottle and I tested it for a day then went online and bought a full bottle ASAP. I apsolutely HATED the screechy Kayali OG version of this...this I LOVE LOVE LOVE. This is perfect for those cool autumn and cold winter days when you want something smooth and sweet (not too sweet) and sophisticated and gourmand, but not too foody smelling. Just a hint of something floral, a whole shot of warming boozyness and just a tiny touch of woody oud that's complimentary not barnyardy. Im not an oud fan, but this doesnt offend me at all. This scent actually gives me Christmas vibes. It's very welcome in my collection 😍

Very sweet, spicy and delicious. The opening hits with rich patchouli and a trace of oud, before it softens into creamy vanilla, sweet, comforting and brightened by florals. The orchid is especially beautiful here, lending a gentle elegance that lifts the gourmand heart. As it settles, sugar and cream emerge, crème brûlée? Absolutely! It’s a scent that moves, brighter patchouli and florals to begin, easing into a deep spiced vanilla, staying intoxicating throughout. Slightly indolic, never basic and completely beautiful. Perfect for winter. Has decent sillage and projection, not necessarily nuclear but detectable from several feet for several hours.

I really like this one! I really don’t mind the gourmand trend but as someone who is a millennial, I much prefer complex woody & incense gourmands—-or “inedible” gourmands, as I like to call them, and this toes the line between all the sugary creamy sweetness I love in gourmand scents while having an earthy and spicy maturity that keeps it from being juvenile leaning. It’s a great scent for all ages, tbh. I know it’s called December Vanilla but this is a perfectly fine fragrance for Autumn, as well. It’s a shame I got this in April, but it’s still cool enough at night where I can get a few more weeks worth of usage.

Since Kayali Vanilla Royale is my fave, I knew I had to get this one! It smells very similar, but not fully. To me this smells a bit more fresh and not as deep/warm as Vanilla Royale. That’s great because I can reach for this scent more whenever I feel VR is too heavy/ too much for me. Just got December Vanilla today, so I do have to let it sit for a while. Beautiful blend of patchouli, rum and crème brûlée. The bottle is ofc so pretty & luxurious, with the notes stated on the back 😍 Spicy-sweet, boozy, intoxicating scent. Great projection and longevity. Paris Corner did it again with this one!!

I'm not a seasoned perfume fan yet, but this perfume surprised me very much. At first I was just curious how this type of profile would smell. I ordered a bunch of decanters of 2ml and this one out of the 14 or so I ordered blew me away - the boozyness, the vanilla and the oud - it all was so beautiful and addictive - I had to get a full bottle. Now, after a 1.5 months of use/maceration - that oud note smells like somekind of chocolatey note which I love. It's such a sexy, spicy and bold perfume for autumn and winter - I would say a strong starting point for my starter perfume collection.

Intoxicating boozy rum vanilla with a touch of orchid and jasmine. Smells sensational. I don’t really get any oud or patchouli. Great performance too. I've got both Vanilla December and Kayali Sugared Patchouli. I much prefer VD. It's boozier and sweeter and performs way better than Kayali (where patchouli is also more prominent). I don't care for seasons too much, but I think it's definitely more suited to colder weather. I will wear a lot of it in Autumn and Winter! Great fragrance and really good value. Glad I bought it. One if my top 10 fragrances that I own for sure.

NOT a sweet candy like cloying vanilla. It is unisex leaning more feminine in my opinion. I can smell vanilla, spices, PATCHOULY a lot, rum and something sweet. I go nose blind to it pretty quick. My partner loves it on me and says it smells like some vanilla boozy dessert. It stays on clothes and hair for quite some time. For some reason it gives me similar vibe as V Canto Mirabile even though these are completely different perfumes. Probably it’s patchouli, boozy notes and vanilla together. Fantastic price for the quality. It was a successful blind buy for me :)

Wow! This fragrance captures every essence of the holiday season in a bottle. One of the first middle eastern fragrances i purchased and i must say, it’s a contender. Not many afterwards (70+ afterwards) can match this beast! It is a rich boozy (rum) vanilla (real vanilla, like vanilla extract) with a deep woody base now makes it carry some nice weight without being too heavy (best for fall or winter, this may be cloying in the summer or spring). It’s very cozy but may be too strong to sleep in. I sprayed it on my pajama and it never left until i washed it! It has a nice leather note too. This is just such a delicious scent! I love it!

If you appreciate "spicy" or boozy vanillas, you will love this. This is a VERY strong perfume. It will literally swallow up any perfume you pair with it, if it's not beast mode as well. When I got it in April, I wasn't amazed, so I let it sit for some months before spraying & it got even better! I layered it with Lush's Stick Dates body spray and it was so delicious! I'd describe it as a patcholi-forward gourmand. However the patcholi is definitely sugared and sweet. If you overspray, you will have a generous scent bubble.

Good lawd this is a SEXY vanilla!!! I didn't really care for rum in a fragrance, and it's what took me so long to pull the trigger on this one. But I am sooool glad that I did. This is one of the best, cold weather vanillas' I've ever experienced. That cream brule note is what make it. Seductive and endearing scent for either a male or female. Definitely one of my 100 outta 10"s. PS it was a love at first spray. I got it before Christmas but I didn't get around to wearing it until early February and it's only gotten better.

I picked up a 15ml travel size at Marshall’s and went through it in a week. I ordered a mostly full bottle on Mercari. I’ve been having a lot of luck there! As far as the perfume goes, I love it. I’ve slowly realized that I love patchouli scents. All my favorite perfumes have that as a base note. This perfume quickly jumped to the top of my favorites list. It’s woody, vanilla, boozy, and right in my wheelhouse. Layers beautifully with other perfumes too. Lush and rich. (But still not a safe blind buy).

First spray was really intense rum but after it macerated for a week it turned into a sweet sugary patchouli. It smells very new age witchy shop with the patchouli and spices but with a creamy vanilla dessert in the background. Its a gorgeous scent. My husband and son say it's their favorite of all my perfumes which surprised me. I haven't smelled Vanilla Royale yet but I've smelled Vanilla 28 and this is a sweeter better version of that in my opinion. Almost like vanilla 28 and VCRS mixed.

I agree with @PWPPWP I got this 8 months ago and it was rough around the edges in the sense that you could smell each individual note separately which was weird. It smelled like they clashed with one another and it was nuclear strong and long lasting Now it’s as if all those notes have marinated and blended and come together to form a beautiful unison of rich rum sweet patchoulie spicy vanilla and decadent cream and now it’s wearable! Right on time for the season!

Love wearing it in Fall and winter! As a guy who hates overpriced famous perfumes and peppery ones, I was absolutely THRILLED when I found this one, it's notes are really well put together and it stays on really long! It may seem more feminine to people, but at it's core it's Unisex, maybe with slight tilt to the feminine, but that's OK! Been wearing it for year and half, even through summer cause I was lazy to look for summer one, best buy ever! Will buy again!

When i first got this, i could smell more of the patchouli and the floral notes, with the sweetness of vanilla in the background. It also didn't perform too well. However, after letting it macerate for 1 month, the scent got significantly better. It felt well blended and the spices came through more than the florals. It's a nice boozy vanilla, but not too sweet or cloying. If you get this, i recommend letting it sit in a dark place for at least a month

This perfume really is exquisite, it's well blended and has a lot of depth. The vanilla, rum, spices, patchouli and in particular the sugar notes really stand out in this. This is not a subtle fragrance, it's strong, lasts long and is relatively cheap. I love the patchouli and sugar in this, with the vanilla, rum and spices in the background. There is almost a tanginess of the patchouli and sugar notes I find addicting. Such a good blind buy.

I wonder how down this is voted as a patchouli scent? actually, the patchouli here is really successful, as real patchouli should be, and all these other notes supports it beautifully. I wish this was a little stronger, but for the price I can spray more. Another interesting thing to me, is that this is not considered old-fashioned at all...so maybe the Circle has closed? I think this is a gem, and definitely worth to checking out!

I know this may sound strange to many but this one reminds me of Comme des Garçons 2. Let me explain: my ex boyfriend used to have CdG2 and I love love loved it so much and when I smelled December Vanilla I felt the same vibes as CdG2 (such a nice memories came through). I figured it could be patchouli and amber. DV is pretty long lasting on my skin at least and I’m gonna wear it all year round maybe except for the summer months.

I loved it instantly when I got it, like 10 months ago. It settled on my wardrobe and now it smells more musky, like a little more masculine... nevertheless I still find it a very nice unisex fragrance, photorealistic vanilla and amazing longevity for a little budget in my opinion it's a 100/10. I will rebuy just to have a back up. I got compliments 5 hours after leaving my house. Amazing projection and endurance for 30€

I am straight-up utterly and unconditionally in love with this. The most beautiful non-boring sweet spicy vanilla I’ve ever come across. Marvellous performance and a somewhat sultry feel. It’s still lingering on all my winter coats and I could not be more glad. I can assure you this nozzle has seen me far too much ever since I purchased this fragrance... coincidentally in December ;)

The best vanilla scent for me. I have been nose blind to many vanilla scents and just could not find one that lasted, projected or for that matter had any amount of sillage. This scent checked off all (3). The spicy notes, vanilla with the floral and patchouli are blended so beautifully. I get so asked everytime that I am wearing it what perfume it is because the smell is so lovely.

To my nose this is one of the best vanilla fragrances. Intoxicating with long duration and projection. I tried the small package and will definitely order the large one. Its price for what it offers is very low and it can be worn in all seasons except summer. Unisex although it probably suits women more. One of the best cheap perfume purchases I've made. Absolutely happy.

Blind bought this cuz I'm a sucker for a vanilla patchouli fragrance and it didn't disappoint. Upon first spray you get that vanilla sweetness but if you smell it close to the skin or clothes you get that boozy patchouli combo that compliments the sweet vanilla. The performance is outstanding too lasts all day as well as the projection.

Oh she's SEXY. this is femme fatale chic honey. I love this so much. Im a huge fan of lord of misrule by lush and this is her hotter cousin. The patchouli is sophisticated and sweet, with a base much like vanilla 28 if that fragrance tends to pull a bit smokey on you. Definitely a top 3! She does need a couple weeks maceration tho.

I originally smelled the body spray version of this perfume at Tj Maxx, which i wouldn't recommend Paris corners body spray because I've had 2 and personally they don't last for more than 10 minutes, so if I like one, I get the perfume! At first when I smelled this I was thrown back by the rum smelled but it grew on me.

This was a blind buy for me, seeing the reviews, being a vanilla lover and looking at the price I took the risk, and I must say that this perfume is quite boozy and strong. It's very long lasting on clothes, but less on skin. It's definitely a spicy smell, that's why I like to wear it right now (in December).

At first, this was an absoluto no I regretted purchasing it and just left it aside I let it macerate for weeks, and it didn’t make things better But here we are, a year later and OH MY GOD this scent is so, so addictive I’m in love with it and regret decanting it as much as I did quite frankly 🥲🥲🥲🥲

I got mine in the travel size at TJMaxx also. I was disappointed, but it was just $10.00 so I kept it. I’m not sure exactly when but it was months ago. Got it out again last week just out of curiosity and I love it! Don’t know if it changed or I did but I’m glad a kept it.

What a stunner! Complex, boozy spicy vanilla rum creme brulee with a tiny hint of leather...yum. The drydown is a powdery woody brown sugar. This will be perfection for colder months. Can't wait to test drive this baby in the fall/winter!

First impression: Crazy good. Can't wait to use this! Love at first sniff. Smooth vanilla but far more interesting than Lattafa's Eclaire (which I like as well for its coziness and comfort). December Vanilla has a sexiness to it.

Creamy, comforting, sophisticated. I don't get too much of anything, it seems balanced to me. Lasts indefinitely, a decent scent bubble even as I sleep. I wonder if there are batch inconsistencies or it needs time to mature...

Classy and sophisticated vanilla fragrance. A wintery fragrance that can be pulled off in hotter regions at this time of year (December) due to it being deep yet somehow fresh. Not for everyone, just the way it should be.

It’s what I wanted Montale Patchouli Leaves to be. Could be a little less heavy, maybe like dial it down to November vanilla. It smells.. dark somehow, but also cozy and creamy incensy. Does fit the season.

Beautiful combination of Vanilla and Rum, I like a lot but frequently I feel that's really too strong, really NUCLEAR Powerful perfume I was expecting less sweet and more Leather... anyway really good : )

Just call me crazy, but in the middle I detect very prominent Delina-ish rose note, which is not only nothing that I expected to feel, but also surprisingly beautiful! I’m in awe!

Disappointing. Very masculine. Oud overtakes any other note supposedly in there. I smelled vanilla on the sprayer but the liquid doesn't contain any. update: it's growing on me.

Rummy vanilla creme brulee, dries into a sugary woody patchouli. Very sweet and boozy, lasts all day and then some. Perfect for the cold seasons, just needs body heat.

I love it!!! Only downside is it doesn't seem to last at all But I can't stop spraying every now and then I'm totally in love especially with the first sniff

To me, this is a mature vanilla fragrance-spicy; boozy; woody; and dark It's sexy; elegant, and mysterious, far from the usual sweet, dessert-like vanillas
