North Stag Expressions III Trois

An orangey take on the Imagination DNA, and I don’t mind it. It still retains that familiar calming tea backbone, but here it’s been brightened with a citrusy orange twist that adds a slightly juicier, more playful edge. It's not a clone that tries to be identical. More of a cousin to the OG. One of the longer-lasting Imagination dupes I’ve tested so far. It clocks in at about 5 hours on skin, which doesn’t make it a beast, but compared to others in this category? It's holding its own. Sillage sits firmly in between noticeable, but not an arms length scent. Not a skin scent, but also not overspray-friendly. Someone sitting directly next to you in the car would pick it up and probably say you smell pretty clean and charming, but nothing further than that. I like it. The tea’s still there, so it hasn’t abandoned the Imagination completely. It’s just more of an outward citrus. Could definitely see this becoming my go-to full bottle Imagination dupe, though I’ve got a few more contenders to test before I crown a winner.

I have had this cologne for about a year now, and it is the best Summer Cologne on the Market with one major complaint. Here is the complaint: It doesn't last long on the skin. North Stag Expressions III Trois gives me about 3-4 hours maximum when outside, but those 3-4 hours are fantastic. I understand, it's an airy citrus, and most don't last long - any of them. In its defense, when I'm indoors, it lasts a bit longer, but still - it's no beast. Does it smell like Imagination? Not really, but I don't wear Imagination; I have only occasionally smelled it. North Stag III Trois is just a fantastic scent. The family also loves it, and forced me to wear it on a cruise/beach late last summer. At night, I will go with something slightly heavier, because it will have worn off by then. If I am in the office, I bring the bottle with me and apply one more spray after lunch. Dare I say, you won't be disappointed in this one. Even if it is not a perfect clone of Imagination by LV, it is still a fantastic cologne.

Perfectly unisex. Very fresh Afternoon Swim vibe. (Not Imagination.) This one (nr 3) has more lemon and lasts a bit longer then nr 4 which has more orange. Both are fantastic value freshies. EDIT: The guy above me seem to insist on this being similar to Imagination, not from actually smelling it but from reading the notes and watching youtubers. I own both and this is nothing like Imagination. The soapy vibe that is dominant in Imagination is completely absent here. It's much more like Afternoon Swim.

I absolutely love the way this smells. Way better than Limoni, in my opinion. It just reminds me of when I used to work at the juice factory. Just straight citrus. That being said, the performance is absolutely terrible. Less than an hour later, I'll be lucky if I can even catch a hint of it on my skin. I got this as part of a large lot and really only paid about $12 for my bottle. At that price, I'd buy it again. But I wouldn't pay $30+ for it. YMMV

It's not a 1:1 clone of LV Imagination. And thank goodness for that, because I'm one of those people who simply can't stand Imagination. I absolutely love North Stag Expressions III Trois !! To my personal taste, it's much better than Imagination in every possible way. The scent trail is incredibly pleasant. This is an absolute compliment magnet. I've rarely worn a fragrance that gets so many positive reactions! 10/10 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

North Stag Expressions III Trois Paris Corner is a fresh, elegant summer fragrance. It opens with bright citrus notes, like bergamot and lemon, followed by soft florals such as jasmine and orange blossom. The base features subtle musk or sandalwood, providing depth and longevity. Light, airy, and sophisticated, it's perfect for warm weather, offering a refreshing yet refined scent for summer days and nights.

Lemon, ginger, black tea. Smells like baby johnson perfumes, doesn’t mean it’s bad. It is EXTREMELY FRESH. I have never smelt LV imagination so I can’t comment on similarity. But as a scent by itself I’ll give it a 7.5 or 8/10.

Sharper and less sweet North Stag IV "Quatre" Easy to wear, projects better than quatre because of huge dose of ambroxin. Overall rating 4.5/5

This reminds me of LV Imagination. Clean fresh fragrance and i will 100% rock this in the summer time.

Starting off, this isn’t a 1:1 with Imagination. Think Afternoon Swim in the opening, but as it dries down, it leans more into a lemony vibe rather than the soapy feel of Imagination. It's definitely a good everyday scent, just more citrus-heavy than anything else. OverAll: 7.3/10

This one brought me a lot of compliments, not going to lie. Only problem is it doesn’t last long, but nonetheless a very fresh citrusy and tea-ish smell. It lacks the soapyness that Imagination has. For its price, its good.

if you got caught up in the imagination hype, I feel bad for you. its a decent scent but way overhyped. smells like nice soap, definitly not luxury soap though. now about this north stag, its straight up lemon, lemon and greenish tea. is it imagination? nope, not even close, people who say this is imagination probably have never tried the original. this has no soap at all, no creamy dry down, just lemon, tea and woods. that being said, its a nice citrussy scent, reminds me of picking lemons from a lemon tree, peeling one on the spot. its good quality, fresh, you could say this is afternoon swim but with lemons instead of orange. performance is weak, 4-5 hours max.

this is a citrus bomb and not much else, I haven't tried imagination but I do have essence de blanc which should be one of the best clones of imagination and these two are completely different. this smells kind of like a lemon tree and tea leafs. it is really good if you like citrus fresh fragrances. this can be really good for layering with other perfumes to give them a citrus kick.

Very citrus dominant and the quality of the citrus here is just ok. If you buying it hoping it to be similar to LV imagination I think you will be rather disappointed, to me it’s smells just to linear. If you like citrus heavy fragrances, go for it because it is a citrus explosion once you spray it. I paid 38€ incl. shipping and it is ok, anything above this price is unjustified.

Yeah somebody said "jellybean" and i instantly started to catch a wiff of it at the dry down. The citrus and extra tart bittersweet combo is synthetic. But it isn't bad, it's wearable if you want to smell like a citrus candy that is. Mid sillage and longevity.

Once i first got it the opening reminded me of lemon gummy bears very candy like smell. Ive had it for months now and the opening changed and has become a little less citrus forward overall nice smell but very little longevity.

I hate it!!! I feel like I’m covered in OJ!! 😭 grrr 😡 Is this one of the ones that needs to macerate for a month?? 😭 I don’t like this!! I’m only getting citrus, orange?where is the ginger and cinnamon?? The tea? Grr I am super bummed out I didn’t care if it smelled like a LV scent! I literally only bought it because someone said it smelled like Serge Lutens Five O Clock Gingembre!! And this ?? Does not! Lutens Gingembre hits you first with dry cinnamon and ginger I’m not getting that at all! I’m literally only smelling very light orange! It’s not even a good performer ughh another bad blind buy! (No this perfume isn’t “horrible”) I’m just NOT getting any of the other notes. It’s like a bbw body mist, it was gone from my wrist in an hour!! I will update in a month but what a waste

This still is just watered down OJ. Barely any tea... you have to reach into your imagination for that! This and the orange bottle are both still orange!! Boring a joke another Arabic blind buy fail! I’m open to the Arabic dupe fun I have coconut lagoon one which is fun lovely refreshing (doesn’t last for anything) but it smells good!! This is just orange... and not a great one!! I’ve not smelled original,.. sooo IF this is a dupe for the LV? Then wow a lot of people spent hundreds for watered down orange?? Mmmk

Very interesting observation @thejustpure. It does have quite a jellybean-like drydown. Opens similar to imagination, but lacks the soapy aspect of imagination on the dry down. 4.9/10 imo

I blind bought this one after hearing it described as a "beast mode gentleman scent"—and wow, it did not disappoint. From the very first spray, Expressions Trois III makes a statement. This is not a shy fragrance. It’s bold, confident, and unapologetically masculine, but still refined enough to avoid being overbearing (as long as you’re mindful of the trigger). The opening hits with a sharp, spicy burst—clove and cinnamon maybe?—immediately followed by what I can only describe as a smooth, almost boozy tobacco note. It's rich, dark, and has this warm, slightly sweet undertone that reminds me of a high-end cigar lounge. As it dries down, a leathery, woody base starts to come through, grounding everything with a deep, resinous elegance. There’s definitely something ambery in the mix too, giving it that syrupy glow that lasts for hours. Performance is excellent. Two sprays lasted me a full workday and then some, projecting strongly in the first few hours and settling into a more intimate, but still present, scent bubble after that. This is very much a cold-weather or evening scent—wearing this in summer would probably knock people out. Overall, Expressions Trois III is a powerhouse. It feels like it was made for those who appreciate complex, mature, niche-style compositions with a lot of depth and presence. Think Parfums de Marly Herod meets Amouage Interlude Man, but with its own personality. Definitely not a safe office scent or for the faint of heart, but if you’re into bold, spicy-sweet masculines with strong performance, this might be a hidden gem. Would I buy it again? 100%. It’s earned a permanent place in my fall/winter rotation.

A very dialled down Tea Note in this one - so if you are looking for an Imagination clone this isn't going to get you very close to that fragrance. In fact I would say it leans far closer to Afternoon Swim because it's a massive citrus bomb. You get 3 different sides to the citrus here: 1) Like the rind of a ripe orange - quite natural. 2) Sharper citrus - probably citron. 3) Candied citrus - doesn't smell too natural but hell it smells good and compliments the other 2 citrus notes. Nice blast of ginger and the neroli gives it a nice creamy mid to drydown - very simple but very nicely done. Easy reach high quality summer fragrance with great presentation and a superb atomiser but don't expect Imagination from this as it's very much it's own thing.

What can you say about this, it's a lovely citrus and to my nose black tea scent. Simple and easy to wear. I also have North Stag Expressions IV QUATRE, which to me is the better option as the citrus in question is orange and just feels fresher. I would go as far as to say if you have one, you don't really need the other. They are cheap though so I guess it doesn't matter that much to have both. An excellent choice for the summer and I'd say day time.

So this has just about 95% of same notes as Imagination but yet it doesn't smell like it? Even with cologne connoisseurs like Gent Scents and BBB and Aromatix all saying it's a sure fire clone of Imagination, these guys in the comments say the opposite? 🤣 Yea I'll go with my cologne YouTubers. They have a huge following for a reason

Smells Just like Jelly beans and that's it! Is that bad? No not if you want to smell youthful and playful, is it good? Not if you want to smell like you've just finished a bag of sweets and it's pulsing of you so it's a little immature. Interesting scent thou. I'm sure there's fun occasions you'd want to wear this.

Don't go with the idea that this smells like Imagination. It's not!. I purchased because a lot of "influencers" mentioned that smells like Imagination and nothing could be further from the truth. Don't get me wrong, doesn't smell bad but for the price there are way better options.

This just smells like North Stag 4 without stronger dominant orange, literally 5% different from the 4. 4 has much better longevity and projection. 3 still a great summer citrus bomb cheapie but it is redundant to own both 3 and 4.

This one smells like green apple and citruses mixed with Mexican tortilla chips. Sound really weird, and I’m probably the only one that gets that from this scent lol. It smells excellent; however, I just wish it lasted longer.

I really enjoy its uplifting citrusy nature, but it is a less spot on clone than the other North Stags of their originals IMO. I am missing the arctic icy/airy coldness from Imagination, which makes it unique for me.
