King's Empire

Bergamot and peppery greens lead the way for me in the open, followed by bright violet coming in before a rich leather and spicy incense wash over through the mid notes, reminiscent of a sweat lodge in a mountain retreat deep in the Himalayas. The base is lovely with the woods all competing for my attention (cedar is the dominant for me followed by sandalwood). It's musky, but not the musk I was expecting; this is like the type of dusty musk one might encounter entering an 18th century restored and refinished wood architecture home, it is vegetal but not in a decaying sort of way, more in a sawed/sanded wood way...I really like it. Beautifully done from start to finish.

One ofy most loved sandalwoods which was blended by dixitartisan for his brand peritomoreno. Its an excellent scent with a fresh clean woody sweetness and at its price point, this is an absolute steal. . So if you are looking for an approachable sandalwood scents for this summer, look no further.

It is apparent that Kings Empire uses the highest of quality of ingredients as one would expect from a niche/indie house, and it is blended rather well. The note that sticks out the most for me is the marine/ozonic and I guess that I am just not a fan of this note. I had the same offputting reaction to Kenzo's Marine fragrances. I am also not a fan of leather, aside from Ombre Leather. Its still an excellent fragrance, but its just not my vibe. As with all Indie houses that I have tried, the projection is on a gentleman's level. You aren't going to nuke a room, but you will be in a wonderful scent bubble. You have to be moving to get it in the air though. I can see this doing really well in some heat. I can see this being a high 9 if you like the notes, but for me, its a 7.5.
