Oudian

This is special. Opens up with a sour like fruitiness with the oud in the back. You really get the stankyness from the oud and the durian but in the best way possible. Its really nothing like oud maracuja, this is way more vibrant and makes more of a statement its light and dark at the same time. Imagine going in to a dark techno place and while you enter your favourite song is playing, such a dark place but suddenly you feel like your the best version of yourself, full of euphoria and that its going to be a hell of a night, full of things your never going to tell again. Its dark, euphoric, and in a good way its dirty.

When I first sprayed this on I thought oh great yet another oud, leather, and fruit fragrance.It is a bit sharper and animalistic which I like. However, It's a beat to death flavor profile let's be real here. If you like Oud Maracuja or Ombre Nomad here's another entry. I will give it the recognition with the addition of durian fruit. At first sniff I didn't smell it at all, then my wife from the other room asked what that funky foot smell was! LOL durian fruit! For that I will say it's unique for the DNA this fragrance is in. Overall you can find others like this for much cheaper and good quality.

It opens up with this weird, fruity note coming from the durian. It is unsettling, ambiguous and addictive at the same time. It is immediately followed by clean, slightly animalic and pungent oud that in combination with already divisive durian note can be a dealbreaker for many but oh my it works for me. After a while oud and leather dominate making it a heavy scent, which i normally wouldnt like, but as for the addition of this uplifting and even juiciness of fruits it stays wearable unique and so addictive.

Oudian by Pernoire perfumed by Andreas Wilhelm welcomes you with a delicious fruity opening. Durian and tropical fruit notes are reminiscent of a childhood fueled by fruit roll ups. There is a nice funky oud accord presence with a richness that is complimented by the pairing of labdanum and olibanum. A beautiful combination of notes that could be somewhat polarizing but still very wearable, a must try for lovers of fruity oud fragrances like myself.

This perfume is an absolute beat! I have never smelled a Durian in a perfume and it it gorgeous. With the oud, this scent is just WOW!

An interesting entry into the fruity oud space. The fruity aspect comes off mainly like guava to me with a lightly funky oud. Do I get durian though, not really unfortunately. I would have attributed that funk to the oud actually if I didn’t know what it was supposed to smell like. I love durian and would have loved a subtle sulphuric note in there or even the creamy custard aspect, but no, just tropical fruit. There is a little funk that I can see some people associating with feet, but I must not be as sensitive because I have to search for it. To my tastes this is a bit safe, but I think they would have trouble selling any bottles if they went fully durian funk. Except to me maybe. The oud is also not barnyard or challenging, and the leather is mild (but I have a high threshold for leather). Side note: Can we agree that fruity oud doesn’t automatically = oud maracuja? The passion fruit is way more prominent and punchy, there are some mild florals and it is much louder.

Unmistakably durian in the opening. Like the fruit, it has a "stinky feet" smell that lingers just around the corner for the first hour of wear, but beyond that, the smell of fruits dominates the entire experience. The oud note is pretty consistent throughout wear and is the restrained animalic note you’ll find in western ouds like Ombre Nomade and Goudh. Beyond the slight shuffle in the first hour of wear, the notes remain pretty linear for the ~six hours of projection and roughly ten hours of being noticeable. Not for me, based on durian smelling like stinky feet to me, but I applaud the creativity to incorporate this note into a fragrance.

This attempt has a good result. It's not bad like you would expect but beautiful.. fruity, less oudy than om and fresher.. pernoire is doing a great job at their fragrances and this one is just another proof

Slightly Cheessy oud With fruits. A smell that you just don’t love it but you cant stop smelling it

It's a likeable and daring scent but I don't get durian at all. As someone who actually loves the smell of durian my search continues for a fragrance that actually succeeds in making it work. What we get with Oudian is pure passion fruit and oud with a hint of leather. I haven't smelled Oud Maracuja but I've seen people make the comparison and this would be exctly how I picture OM to smell like based on the notes and how it's been described to me. Not a bad scent but I dislike when brands name a fragrance after something that is not a prominent feature of the scent as a marketing trick.

Ripe tropical (passion fruit / pineapple) blended with a mildly butyric accord ( er, Durian sounds about right!) This is underpinned by a mostly balsamic leathery base. Lasts long, sillage decent. Not sold on this though, as the 'Durian' accord is, as I said, a little too butyric, and combined with the ripe fruits tips over into the realms of, well, regurgitated Pina Colada. Oh, and saying this is like Oud Maracuja (it isn't BTW) is just an overly simplistic and lazy connection. I wonder about people's critical thinking sometimes...

Smells like fruity gummy bears with a leathery and oudy background. Much more pleasant than I expected.

Vile. Smells like vomit. The durian note is far too strong and the oud takes a backseat. This is hideous

Today I managed to get Pernoire Oudian perfume. I have to emphasize that this perfume is very complex. Personally, I like it when certain scents start to swirl in and out of that mixed chaos of essential oils; it's just a question of what their performances are. At first, this perfume smells 100% like leather, but like a leather jacket from the 70s, 80s, 90s that you were ashamed to wear because it gave off mothballs. The scent reminds me of my grandfather's workshop and his hands full of engine oil and a dirty leather jacket. That extremely strong leather scent doesn't fade even after 5 hours; it's extremely direct, it doesn't blend with other scents that are listed as top notes, on the contrary, the top note is leather. Of the other ingredients, I only smell tropical fruit, durian, vetiver and saffron in a way that makes these ingredients look like someone took a shower with them and then put on a leather jacket. The scents that are labeled as top notes are in the background, they kind of pop up for a moment, but the scents of leather overpower them and don't fit together at all. At times, I get the smell of sweat, not constantly but occasionally, which is not pleasant for me. For all leather lovers, this could be the perfume for you. Personally, this is not a leather scent that I like, on the contrary, I wouldn't want to wear any wearable item that smells like that.

i've enjoyed the smell (and taste) of durian for decades, even longer than i've been a lover of natural oud. leather is the note that took me years to appreciate. this handsome, daring, but still wearable perfume hits that trifecta of notes between durian, oud, and leather - with more of a suede touch than leather, a durian offering that is true without being extreme (oniony or cheesy), and an oud note which is present but quite neutral in the agarwood world. together, this fragrance has my name written all over it. NOT for sensitive olfactory senses.

I have Oud Maracuja and this doesn't smell like it to me. I find it mostly leathery, but then the fruits peak out and go away and leather returns. The durian is there but not too strong, just a bit of funky sweetness. I find the whole effect fascinating. So far just sniffs on a tester card, but I will be trying it on skin soon. I think it's utterly unique and captivating.

I feel a bit disappointed because it is just another take on Oud Maracuja. It seems like every house wants to create their own version. The fragrance had its moment of hype, but that time is over, and it is impossible to bring that excitement back. The quality is not the same btw but yet it is clearly a dupe of Oud Maracuja made with better ingredients.

This has zero oud to start with. The opening was promising but the evolution is a chemical disaster, full synthetic and totally unbalanced.

Im sorry but all the pr and influencers tryna make it unique... its a oud maracuja dupe with ”durian” and lighter sweeter.

You all know it's a dupe of Oud Maracuja right? But hey, it's Pernoire, it must be unique...
