Perry Ellis Platinum Label

I've gotta say I LIKE IT A LOT! I have close to 100 fragrances, and I dont really have anything that smells quite like this one, so its NOT "generic" like some YouTubers claim it is. The Bamboo note makes this much more unique, and "Zen like", it reminds me of some of those fresh "spa fragrances" which I do have a few of, and LOVE, although most lean a bit more feminine (which I dont mind) but this one is decidedly Male leaning, yet still beautiful on the ladies I'm sure (Clean smells have NO gender). It's just really nice to have something a bit different when ya own over 100 frags (This is a cry for HELP! lol!). Now I have smelled the OG Aqua di Gio, and the openings are pretty similar, but Platinum Label goes in a very different direction as it dries-down bc of that GORGEOUS Bamboo Over-Dose which almost seems just a bit "Camphorous?" and the greens used here give this a beautiful aromatic touch. Something in this DNA seems just a tiny bit Menthol-ish/Eucalyptus like along the edges and works so nicely with that Bamboo. I think it's what gives Platinum Lable like a "Zen-Spa" vibe. And look, I KNOW Im over here writing a freakin' book over a damn $15 to $20 fragrance, but I feel that great-inexpensive fragrances also deserve a great amount of praise (Even More so) from people bc it really just goes to show that we need NOT over-spend to smell great and unique. I also feel that these great smelling, inexpensive fragrance in a way PUSH BACK against a lot of those rediculously over-priced, High-end designer and Niche frags. Unfortunately the performance is prrreeetty bad tbh, so HEAVILY Over-Spraying is very WELL-WORTH it if ya really want this to get noticed at all, and I also recommend using the body wash to help boost your scent bubble. Admittedly, if this were a "Beast Mode frag" it wouldn't feel as "serene and Zen" as it does, so there's THAT PART. I do think this would make a great signature summer scent for gentlemen atleast 25 and over and is especially great for the office and somehow reminds me ro "Just Breath" when I'mover-worked and overly-stressed. Glad I grabbed it.. paid $19.99 with body wash included! Not bad. I give this a 7 outta 10 with points deducted for the performance issues.

I found a 3.4 oz bottle of Perry Ellis Platinum Label, along with 3.4 oz of the body wash, marked down at Ross for $14. I probably have 200 fragrances (when including aftershaves), and this one was my most impressive blind buy and one of the very best value propositions! It's an immediate favorite of mine. I don't know why some people write this one off as being too similar to Acqua di Gio. It is only loosely related. This one has a lot of bamboo, and the little bit of seaweed adds a nice touch, reminding me of the Pacific Northwest coast on a somewhat warm day. It's smoother, creamier, and mellower than Acqua di Gio. It is calming, comforting, and keeps my mood up. The reviewer who called this a "zen, spa-like fragrance" was right on the money! Its quality really pleasantly surprised me for a Perry Ellis offering (I feel that their original blue 360 fragrance is only kind of nice and Pure Blue is mediocre at best). I would even believe it could be a lot more expensive. Is has some of that magical, transportive quality to it. The performance isn't bad either. Four sprays on each of the two pulse points on my neck got this fragrance to pump out for 5+ hours. For me, that's at least average, particularly for something with this light of a character. On my shirt, and it is still detectable and smelling good for at least seven hours. Of the hundreds of fragrances I've smelled, this must be one of the most underrated gems. Don't write it off because of its supposed similarity to Acqua di Gio. I highly recommend Perry Ellis Platinum Label! And I prefer it over Acqua di Gio.

A suuuuper relaxing, fresh take on an aquatic. The Bamboo note really does stand out here and for a "Rack Store find" its not at all that "Generic smelling." Performance is on the low to moderate end but at the low cost of around $18 (including a tube of body wash) I can just go ham on the atomizer and even with heavy over-spraying, Platinum Label probably wont offend anyone bc its not at all heavy, loud or astringent. Also I have had my bottle for around 6 months now and it does seem to be lasting a bit longer (4 to 5 hours on skin), and has slightly better presence/projection than it had initially. A very nice, chill, soothing scent perfect for office use or just wearing casually around the house or even as a bedtime fragrance. And again, Perry Ellis Platinum Label is NOT a "Generic Fragrance." The "Bamboo Note-over load" makes this scent sorta unique (As unique as a rack store find can be) and while it does have similarities to Aqua de Gio original, again that "Up Front" Bamboo note just sets it apart a bit. A very pleasant and super chill, relaxing scent! With low to moderate longevity which wears somewhat close to the skin. And along with a body wash gel? NOT bad at all for around $18!

One of my favorites for warmer months. Definitely a wonderful Teal styled fragrance. The opening is a refreshing burst of bamboo, rosemary and citrus. There is an immediate cooling factor to this fragrance from start to finish, with the violet leaf, rosemary, fir, bamboo and seaweed notes. It is one of the most calming, and refreshing scents Ive experienced. As it dries down it has a wonderful wood musk accord with the patchouli being a sweet earthy variety. I am not a fan of blue aquatics but I am a massive fan of Teal style fragrances where Blue notes meet Green notes and Platinum is such a perfect balance, they play in total harmony with one another. There is a distant similarity to L'eau Bleue de Issey by Issey Miyake. They share some note overlap. Bleue de Issey leans slightly more herbal green where Platium is slightly more airy blue due to the seawood, sea moss,bamboo and violet leaf accord. It gets heavyy usage from me in spring and summer. Verugood day or evening fragrance. Office friendly. Ive had my bottle since they first came out in 2009. It is such a hidden gem in the fragrance world. It is such a great example of a Teal stype fragrance.

I love this one especially at this price. It was a blind buy at a discount store that paired it with some nice soaps and lotions. Such a great earthy fragrance, reminds me of the smells of childhood putting my hands in the dirt and rolling around in the grass and running through the bushes. Everything fresh. It lacks balance though, and the longevity is fairly pitiful. Such a shame. Projects at first but then becomes a close-up. Tends to blend into the background. But for the money, you can bathe in it. This one is a definite keeper, very pleasantly surprised.

Very refreshing, crisp. A casual fragrance for spring and summer. The bamboo and mandarin makes this fragrance very refreshing. And the top notes stay all the time. The end notes are woodsy. Fruity- woody. Very similar to Higher by Dior. Girls like it a lot. Longevity is great. Overall 8 out of 10.

The notes for this new twist on his 2008 revamped signature fragrance are: TOP: mandarin ice, bamboo, rosemary HEART: violet leaf, lavender, fir balsam BASE: cedarwood, white musk, sea moss This is going to be super sexy, I just hope it's not too light...

A good fragrance, ignore people being negative (since everyone is negative nowadays) and try for yourself. You will like it.

Really beautiful scent, it smells like a more masculine Aqcua Di Gio EDT.

Nice scent here, scent is actually very well done for a bamboo scent. Not in the same class as Perry Ellis Red 360 which is a phenomenal scent, white 360, or M. The original perry ellis if you like stronger scents, is a very nice change to a masculine scent in the Perry Ellis line. But back to this one. In reference to some of the reviews here, this scent is quite different from typical citrus scents and it smells much more green than Acqua di Gio. I've worn this scent about 15 times so far, it smells much too green to be compared to other citrus scents in general....... This scent does have some notes that make it an outstanding, and unique scent. The bamboo is softer than what is rated here, and it is balanced very well. At initial spray I thought it might be a bamboo bomb, but after a second or two you'll smell how smooth and relatively light of a scent this is. The citrus and cedar blend really well together, and quickly all the other green notes come into play, and blend together with the bamboo forming a smooth very green scent. Nothing synthetic about this scent at all. As a stand alone scent, this is a quality green scent, Woman at work will always compliment you. Out for dinner or a glass of wine/craft beer you'll get complimented, or a day out walking downtown grabbing lunch, visiting an art gallery, catching a baseball game, everyone will say it smells so nice. Are their others that smell as good, definitely, are their others that were formulated before this one, yes. Perry Ellis Platinum Label is a nice scent, longevity could be improved though Scent:6 Longevity:4 Sillage:5 Unique/Industry First:7 Bamboo with other green notes Quality:7 This one because of it being bamboo, with plenty of green notes added, is a try before you buy. This scent might be too green (Plants, Flowers, Trees) for most people, most scents are not this green. This is more of a niche Perry Ellis scent than a mainstream Perry Ellis 360 scent.

First initial review: In a nutshell this is an ADG clone with bamboo added ! I honestly don't see how this is compared to Truth by Calvin Klein as Truth is a very green natural smelling fragrance and this is just another typical citrusy aquatic. This opens up with a lot of citrus and at first this is a little sour on my skin and slightly off putting to be honest. Then it smoothes out as the bamboo comes in making it a bit more pleasant. The drydown is the redeeming factor with this fragrance for sure as I've gotten whiffs of it throughout the day forgetting that it's still on my skin. I was a little disappointed with this fragrance as I love the note of bamboo and it's sad that even Lucky You for men does a better job with bamboo then this. Performance on this is pretty below average as it really only projects for 20 mins but this does last 4-6 hours and when your body heats up is the only time you will smell this which is why this is going to be limited to a gym or running errands scent. Overall rating 6.5 out of 10 ! It's a pleasant enough scent for a good price but it's been done so many times before and the performance on this is below average not allowing me to give this a good score

I really enjoyed this one when it first came out, coming right out of high school. This was well before my initiation, and understating of performance, sillage, or anything else of the sort. As such, this is a great recommendation for the starting crowd that doesn’t want to spend too much, but still smell fresh. As is the consensus here, this is a nice clean fragrance fit for the office. Just like everyone also mentioned, this is a much more affordable take on an aquatic blue like Bvlgari Acqua, and basic ADG. What I recommend, since I still own this for nostalgic purposes, and have done a good bit of experimenting, is layering this after Molecules 01+02 (or your favorite alternative), to boost performance and give it some added expression.

I have to agree with the positive reviews below. This very nice, green and citrus with some softer woods and grass (bamboo). Much more green that ADG as well as 360 Red for that matter.. Definely work safe, but I have to agree with smellinggoodislife in that this can serve evening out and dinner duty particularly for the sophisticated gentlemen that doesn't need to announce their presence. I see this at Ross for around 20 with a body was or 15 in a stand alone bottle. Worth it at both price point for what you get. Perry Ellis has a lot of scents and more often than not they are quite nice and equally as often are nice little gems such as this.

I purchased this blindly and I didn't like it at first. My second wearing my fiance was like "mmmmm you smell good!" So I gave it a couple more wearings. I gotta say its really grown on me!.. It reminds me of a lighter version of D&G pour homme, or a lighter version of Chanel platinum egoiste, but more synthetic than both. It'll stay in my rotation for a while!

Got this from my best friend, n i love this scent.. kinda generic but the smell is lovely, perfect summer scent.. n the bottle is gorgeous, such an expensive perfume, remind me of Chanel Allure Sport

Good bang for your buck right here

This is a pleasant enough fresh scent but nothing more. It's the epitome of generic without veering into straight up "bad" territory. Though ginger isn't a listed note, it conveys a ginger-like accord to my nose perhaps in part due to the bamboo. That, along with some gentle citrus and light woods in the dry down make this a safe fresh vaguely aquatic and slightly herbal fragrance unlikely to offend anyone. But neither is this a scent that I can get excited about. For a similar price, I'd much rather go for Lattafa Suqraat which is in the same vicinity but better, cloning Acqua Di Gio Profumo quite effectively. If you want bamboo but with more personality that this, go for the also cheap Montblanc Starwalker which is also in this realm but better. Not bad but not good either.

All I can say is that it’s honestly a decent office scent. It’ll keep you feeling fresh but no one will really compliment you about it. It’s got intimate to borderline moderate sillage but it is also pretty cheap so you get what you pay for. I picked up a bottle of this stuff for around 35 bucks, so overall an okay value for a decent scent of this tier! Edit: After wearing this scent a few more times at work, I can say that the bamboo note is annoying and honestly quite gross, wearing this fragrance feels sticky for some reason.

Maybe it is because I don't have the most refined nose, but this smells an awful lot like Giorgio Armani Acqua di Gio, except Acqua di Gio is better blended. If I smelt them side by side, I might notice the differences more distinctly, but after wearing P.E platinum lable for a day it reminded me of Acqua di Gio till it dried down to the base, where it is mostly cedar. You could probably skip this unless you are a huge Acqua di Gio fan (as some people understandably are) and want to compare the two, or you are looking for an alternative to Acqua di Gio for some reason.

I had high hopes for this one, but was very disappointed in its longevity. It lasted only 30 minutes on me before almost completely fading. I don't know if its just my skin or I got a bad batch, but I ended up tossing it. Wanna be Acqua di Gio clone with mediocre ingredients. Perry Ellis 360 does a much better ADG imitation and is more interesting. Besides, I finally caved in and purchased the real ADG. Sometimes original is best.

This may be sacrilegious, but I can’t stand this one. It is so generic it’s like a product in a movie that has no identity or flavor “men’s cologne” it is just a regular men’s cologne that does nothing for me.

It's all about the skin dry-down on this one! Though it smells nice, it isn't striking in the beginning (light citrus with some mild bamboo and musk behind it) but after a good 10 minutes or so it opens up. It becomes quite masculine and mixes very well with my chemistry -- a physically active young male. This is something I like to wear after a morning shower and usually hangs around until sunset. Bare in mind Platinum Label is dirt cheap now; that said, longevity is solid and sillage starts great but fades fast after 2-3 hrs. Don't be put off by the utilitarian bottle, feel sorry for that poor wooden cap...

Since vdog said just below that this scent has a personality disorder I will mess it up: could be a mix between Acqua di Gio and Marina de Bourbon Prince Blanc, or the first and Lalique White. How about Polo Blue and Acqua di Gio? Well, just some elements of those plus Acqua di Gio. That's what I feel about. It's hard doesn't like Platinum Label, and to some noses may well be better than the others mentioned, but I think it belongs to the same category, or close to. If is hard to dislike, I don't find so difficult to be indifferent. No my kind, but may be some day.

THB this fragrance reminds me of smellin something made of metal. But in its defense a girl I was messin with pink this up out of my collection smelled it and immediately told me she liked it so get your nose on it first before you pull the trigger or don't lol but remember just because you don't like it doesn't mean the opposite sex won't. Main reason why I haven't sol it

I don't understand why PE would make an ADG clone when they already have 360 Red which is a great scent. This has me SMH!! I blind bought this a few years ago and have not given it any attention until today. I agree with most of what's already been said. 3 hours max of performance with low sillage.

This is a synthetic mess, very poorly put together. Wants to be Acqua Di Gio, but pales in comparison. If you are looking for an Acqua di Gio rip off, Perry Ellis Red is 100 times better than this, and in my opinion is even better than Acqu di Gio!

Just like many others, P.E goes a step before with this release. A simple aromatic-fresh touch with a fruity and semi herbal angle, finally is comfortable and easy to wear but thats all.

I agree this is just too simple, but if you want to save some bucks there are other great options from PE.. 360 and 360 red
