Beautifully mellow, gently understated, genuinely soulful real-woods number that gives more of an enveloping warm aura than picking out any particularly defined motif. But the love and care that have clearly gone into tailoring it - its soft, caressing feel and the rich semi-sweet, semi-smoky timbre - give it true charm. Smoke drifts about rather than fuming up a real cloud, the resins hum away in semitones rather than thunking away heavily. Its bubble of calm is small; close to the skin, barely 'projecting' at all, yet lasting a respectable time on skin. Put me in mind of something halfway between Bourbon and Fume from Hendley - both gorgeous classics I love - so there is really nothing at all to dislike. The all-natural genre thing means that its intense discretion and slightly blurry, organic, purely analogue feel are kind of the point; if you're looking for a smoke-wood beast mode, then turn away right now, this won't be the wavelength you seek. A chamber piece that's all about restraint, not a hammering extravaganza. But mildly blissful, for the time and space you can share with it.

What I love about this passion is that every once in a while you come across a perfume that smells different from the ones I've already come across. Except that it's totally and surprisingly different for me. Then I wonder "what happened here", what the creator mixed and how and what the ingredients are. In this scent, for me, the creator really mixed it up in the sense of selecting the ingredients, proportions, their combination and, above all, in the sense of obtaining these specific and unique ingredients used in this perfume. The beginning of this scent (batch I from 2024) is for me the smell of wine poured on some unusual wood. Then the smell of slightly smoky labdanum begins to appear and again closer to an unidentified scent note associated with some varnished wood. Gradually, slightly sweet, resinous notes come to the fore and we feel warmer and nicer. A really interesting and unique fragrance work. If I had to compose a photo or a picture for this scent, it would probably be a slightly smoky bar and spilled red wine from a glass standing on a piano, where a musician sits and plays some calm, relaxing and sentimental melodies. The scent is rather close to the skin, with quite good durability for the only natural ingredients used. It can appeal to both women and men.
