Divine Noir

Divine Noir is sweet, woody, earthy, balsamic, warm, tangy, and aromatic. It smells like a complex artisan root beer with a spritz of bergamot and a shot of patchouli-infused wheat grass mixed into it. It is such a beautiful offering of naturally sweet and aromatic earthiness, I feel like eating it would make me stronger and more beautiful. It is spicy, smooth, rich and deep, but its vibrant botanical quality lends the ingredients a translucency, which prevents it from ever becoming too much. In the dead of summer I could see it being a little too heavy, but on the right person, Divine Noir is so balanced and unique that it could easily be dressed up or down. The juice is dark (obviously) so be careful when applying. Divine Noir is an invisible door you can open into a private exotic environment. It's like chocolate and wine-colored velvet curtains draped behind antique paned-glass windows. It's a fragrance for feeling centered and confident (DEFINITELY not for the weak-willed!), while at the same time welcoming and alluring. The bergamot and patchouli are prevalent in the opening, as well as the sarsaparilla and well, countless other things! Ahhh! It's blowing my mind! It took me a while to find my footing in Divine Noir (as it is VERY strong and bold with good sillage and excellent longevity), but once I did, I could not stop sniffing the part of my arm I had sprayed. The most gorgeous vanilla emerges in the dry down; what a stunning finish to an incredible journey.

When would one want to smell like rootbeer? I love root drinks and have made my own hard rootbeer before, it's great. However, I can't think of a single time that I would want to smell like this. I don't like it on my skin, it smells sweet, rich, and sticky. There is nothing very feminine, or clean about this. If anything, it smells dirty and a little hippy. It does have the vicks scent that someone mentioned. Wintergreen is a big flavor in root beer, I"m guessing that it is wintergreen that is smelling Vick's-ish. The silage doesn't seem great, which is probably for the best, your office and classmates will hate you if they have to smell this, I"m sure that the patchouli would give some headaches. It drys down to just smell musty and dusty. This was a fun trial, but a definite no on purchasing a whole bottle.

This is both compelling and repelling at the same time. I can't pinpoint the opening. It's a little like sarsaparilla, yes, but with Vicks Vaporub overlaid. (That's patchouli for you). When I put my nose to my wrist, it is truly repugnant, however I keep getting glorious wafts from this little dab that don't seem in any way related to the skin site. Strange. And compelling. I need to figure this out more.
