Hindu Honeysuckle

At last! My search has officially ended. I have finally found the sweet, airy and powerful true-to-life honeysuckle-centered fragrance of my dreams. Hindu Honeysuckle is magical. It is the perfection of summer, distilled. One spray to each arm, and the most gorgeous realistic cloud of honeysuckle aroma enveloped me. It was euphoria. Moments later, my boyfriend (who is extremely discerning about fragrance) turned his head and from ACROSS THE ROOM exclaimed, "that smells incredible." I looked up at his face and there were tears in his eyes. I kid you not. Hindu Honeysuckle is a clear and transportive honeysuckle fragrance, conjuring memories of peaceful childhood summers in nature. It has amazing projection and longevity just like the real honeysuckle vine. This is an especially grand accomplishment considering that all-natural fragrances tend to be lacking in the sillage/life-span department. Hindu Honeysuckle also has depth and complexity, with a prominent ambrette note from the opening, along with lighter coriander and bergamot, then vetiver to give it a green aromatic earthiness. These elements set off the features of the honeysuckle flowers even more so that they are sparkling and full of light. Jasmine and bergamot linger in the dry down. It is extremely well blended, yet it retains great note separation. The earthy/herbal elements also enforce that this is a unisex fragrance. It is very impressive that it is an all-natural fragrance because it is so vibrant and layered. However, by any standards (natural or synthetic, niche, indie, or whatever), it is a transcendent and awe-inspiring feat of alchemy. I would say that Hindu Honeysuckle is worth every penny, but to me it is priceless. It seems wrong to put a figure on something of such arresting, unquantifiable aesthetic value. I personally feel that it is too beautiful to be an every day fragrance (though it's easy to wear and definitely could be one if you chose), and instead something to wear when one wants to create beautiful memories and lasting positive associations. It would be ideal for a special occasion or a sacred personal ceremony. I will be gifting this to my mom, because it's a joyous peaceful fragrance for the person for whom you want to show infinite gratitude; that's just what I think of when I smell it! If you love honeysuckle or have never smelled it before and want to know exactly what it smells like, this is the fragrance for you. Trust me, it does NOT get better than this.

Hindu Honeysuckle is such a beautiful and complex natural perfume. I sampled it at a showcase when it was launched and loved it so much that I bought a bottle. Honeysuckle bushes grew behind my childhood home, so their flavor and aroma are near and dear to my heart. Hindu Honeysuckle faithfully recreates that sweet and potent floral honeysuckle aroma when first sprayed, but the fragrance doesn't stop there. Honeysuckle might seem like a feminine note to many, but this fragrance is definitely unisex and I recommended it to a male friend who loves vetiver. The spices and vetiver in this scent keep the jasmine in check, adding depth and the greenery of leaves and stems once the honeysuckle blossom fades. Vetiver is the second most dominant aroma in this scent, but every single note in this perfume is crystal clear and rings like a bell. The sillage is tremendous, even throughout the dry-down, and the longevity is excellent for a natural perfume, lasting through the workday.

Amazing fragrance...a recent purchase and it became one of my top 5 perfumes. Sometimes I think it's the best orange blossom/neroli with honeysuckle fragrance and other times it's just a perfect honeysuckle. I don't care what notes it has I just know it is glorious to my nose. This is a great house. Perfect!

I really like this one. I received a free sample in my last order of roller balls and tea. Now I sent out for more samples based on how good this one is. Charna is getting me hook line and sinker but I'm glad. The investment is quality perfume has brought a lot of joy to my life. This one is so floral, very green. We had honeysuckle plants on our farm where I was raised and it smells just like those flowers. Their scent is so strong it fills the air. They are sweet, green, aromatic, and a little earthy. Just like this perfume. I may have to add this to my growing collection. I am glad she offers the smaller rollerball size. After sampling I buy those then I decide if I want to make a larger investment in the big bottle. I have really fallen hard for this perfume company and for Gather. The owner of Gather took classes from Charna and while Gathers offerings are very different you can tell both ladies care for their craft and use only the finest quality ingredients. My nose has also been awakened by smelling naturals. Naturals remind me of the smells I grew up w/ on a small dairy farm surrounded by nature. I live in town now and have for over 30 years. I miss living in the country. At least I can have a little piece of the country in a bottle thanks to these 2 wonderful women.

Predominantly wet & rooty vetiver with jasmine sambac, this does not evoke honeysuckle to me but a good fragrance none the less! Unfortunately honeysuckle essence is not something that's available on the market nor can be extracted easily; I feel like she could've named it anything other than the difficult fantasy note, but I supposed it's the highlighted honey facets that warranted the name...

this opens with honeysuckle, jasmine and vetiver. really pretty and realistic. i sense maybe a little bit of coriander and bergamot too, but it's primarily a honeysuckle with greenery, with vetiver getting a bit stronger later on. it stays pretty linear, and i find it to be a really pretty natural floral.

Egad. Very disappointed with this one, after the raving reviews. Honestly I get very little honeysuckle; it smells very sharp, pungent and sour to me. I blind-bought the travel size for $35 - my bad! I am guessing it is the coriander and perhaps vetiver that cause this to sour on my skin. Very occasionally I get a fleeting (and I DO mean fleeting) whiff of light honeysuckle, but it vanishes so quickly that there is little joy in smelling it. This is by no means sweet and heady like the honeysuckle bushes in the park near my home. It is with much regret and a heavy heart that I must say I hate it. As reviewer Magenta106 stated, it is unclear what makes this "Hindu". Coriander? Musk mallow? Jasmine (though I get zero jasmine from this)? There is a large Hindu community in my area and I've never smelled anything like this on any of them. I've an inkling that it is my skin that turns this so unpleasantly sour. Somehow I was expecting something delectably spicy/flowery, more along the lines of cinnamon and/or nutmeg. Certainly I hoped it would be as sweet as the flower itself. Twas not to be for me.

I feel this fragrance should have “Vetiver” in its name. The vetiver note is more dominant than honeysuckle. How much you like it will depend on your expectations. If you are expecting a very feminine, white floral fragrance, you may be surprised because it is not. If you like/love the aromatic profile of vetiver in addition to honeysuckle, you’ll probably enjoy it. I had initially expected this to be similar to Annick Goutal’s Le Chevrefeuille, which is my favorite honeysuckle perfume. So I was surprised to find out Hindu Honeysuckle was a lot greener and more masculine (hence unisex). The honeysuckle/jasmine note is quite noticeable at the beginning but vetiver starts to take center stage very quickly, pushing the floral note to hover in the background. I’m not a big vetiver fan, so I had some reservation about the fast dominance of vetiver. However, after a few hours, when the rich verdancy of the vetiver tamed down, it became a very pleasant earthy scent that I enjoyed.

Honeysuckle indeed! It is very strong and very sweet. I'm not sure what is supposed to be "hindu" about it however. I just get an incredibly strong sweet floral natural scent. The silage and longevity are outstanding, if you like this frag.

I do not doubt that this is a very fine creation. Unfortunately on me it went mothballs.

I recently got three samples of Providence Perfumes and expected to like Hindu Honeysuckle the least - I am not a fan of white florals or jasmine (ironic given my name!). They usually give me a headache and I find them overbearing. Now I am beginning to think that perhaps my aversion is specifically to synthetic white florals - because this all-natural jasmine-centric perfume is AMAZING. I am really surprised by how much I like it. It is a very happy smell - as other reviewers noted, it harkens of spring and flowers and meadows and sunlight. The longevity is excellent - a few good sprays will easily last 8-plus hours. I am not sure about projection but I can definitely smell myself very easily - it is not a skin scent. If you think you don't like white florals - this one is for you!

This is not a feminine or floral scent, at least not after the first 60 seconds. I loved that part of the scent, but found the dry down too masculine for my taste. Longevity is exceptional for a natural perfume. I wish I liked it!

At first the flowers mixed with the green/aromatic elements almost gave me a chlorinated smell. I didn't mind that so much, but the flowers really did disappear. Couple hours later I'm smelling vetiver, coriander...and that's it.

Not for me. Way too sweet. Put me in mind of my sisters' first Bonne Belle from when we were kids. Our house is surrounded by rampant honeysuckle and it doesn't smell like this. I gifted it.
