Sandalwood + Bergamot

The name of this fragrance may be a tad misleading. Make no mistake, this is a scent of fresh woods and smoke. Imagine you walk out at night in the cold of winter. You smell the cold in the air and in that moment you pick up the light scent of smoke from a distant campfire... That is the clean, brisk, smokey woods scent you experience with “Sandalwood & Bergamot”. To appreciate this one, you may need to let it settle for about five minutes. The opening is rather sharp, mainly Vetiver and smoke is what you will pick up. Once it dries down the Woods, musk and just a whisper of citrus emerge to round out the fragrance.

I can’t remember if the actual set I got of these ranger station samples was supposed to be winter themed, but I got them and wore them in winter and now they will all forever be cold, snowy scents to me. This one is especially crisp feeling to me, like a sunny day in early January where it’s below freezing so all the snow looks like glitter. Even just smelling it again now to write this review I’m reminded of walking around outside on a day like that and the feeling of the inside of your lungs getting cold. It doesn’t last nearly as long as some of their other perfumes which is a little disappointing since it’s so nice.

Lovely cold weather scent! Heavy on the smoke and vetiver/cedar upon first application like some other reviews mention. Really warms up and opens up as it settles on your skin. The sandalwood and musk show up, and that hint of citrus. I think this is firmly unisex despite reviews leaning a bit masculine. Definitely a scent that wears close to your skin, but I find it does last and transform throughout the day. It’s like a delicious, warm, spicy treat for anybody you let close enough to get a whiff.

Smells so good but it’s GONE in moments. I’m searching for it moments after I put it on (4 sprays!) and can’t find it. My brother and I each gave it a pump on our wrist to see whose skin it lasted longer on. His was gone in 30 min. Mine took about an hour so he gave me the bottle. Lovely scent with NO lasting power.

Smells more like Vetiver + Citrus than Sandalwood + Bergmot. That said, this is quite nice. My favorite from the station.
