Ambre Saba

Ambre Saba is more of an ambergris than the dense smoky/sweet balsamic amber you might expect from the name. There are resins and sweetness present for sure, from the Olibanum and vanilla, but this is more of an airy, salty, sweet fragrance to my nose. “Airy” is not to say that the performance itself is light - more that it has an element of ocean air, and isn’t cloying or dense. There is warmth and woodiness blending seamlessly with the ambergris and vanilla, to give an overall effect that is not overly sweet and not overly salty/animalic, but ambergris remains the central star in my opinion. It’s not what I initially expected, but I absolutely LOVE it! I don’t have anything that smells like this in my collection - it’s artistic and unique, but in a completely wearable way, and luckily it doesn’t disappear on my skin like some other reviewers experienced. I find that this fragrance leaves a beautiful trail, and is what I call a “wafter” - I can not notice it for a bit and almost wonder if it’s gone, when suddenly a waft finds its way to my nose and reminds me that I’m still in the cloud. EDIT: I put two sprays on (one on each arm) around 7PM and woke up still smelling it noticeably at 9 AM!

Ambre Saba is an Ambergris fragrance. it is not the usual resinous, sweet amber a la Grand Soir, Ambre Sultan etc... If you don't want to be disappointed, read about it first! Now, if you like Ambergris, this is going to be your cup of tea. Ambre Saba has an ethereal, salty quality to it that is impossible to describe. It's not necessarily marine but it does have a Seabreeze feel to it. It is a very peppery experience, but it's still quite gentle combined with the Jasmin (which is a very prominent note, but not too strong again). The olibanum gives is some balanced smokiness. I also get some tobacco touches... it's not listed on the notes but it really comes out on my skin. Performance-wise, I think it's good. It surely lasts a long time on skin but the sillage is moderate. It does leave a nice trail behind you in the first couple of hours which is quite nice. Overall I think this is a versatile, unique and almost year-round fragrance. I recommend trying it first as it may not be for everyone.

Probably the most luxurious vanilla fragrance that I own. 😍 I find Ambre Saba a very complex and rich scent, that has a bit of everything: warmth, sweetness, cozines, depth, sensuality and a lot of sophistication. It opens with a vibrant fruitiness, that fades within minutes, when sweet, warm and creamy vanilla absolute mixed beautifully with a sensual, slightly animalic scent of jasmine and a soft spiciness, takes place. Slowly a soft incensy touch is added, that almost gives a mystical vibe to Ambre Saba. The ambergris added in the base adds more depth and warmth and a subtle muskiness. All this concoction evoke a sense of opulence and refinement, making Ambre Saba both elegant and alluring. This is a fragrance easy to wear all year round, it's office friendly and also perfectly unisex. If you are a vanilla lover just like me and you are looking for a sophisticated type of vanilla, search no more. This is it! ♥️

Despite most descriptions (and the namesake), Ambre Saba is not an incense nor amber fragrance. Ambre Saba smells like a warm sea breeze naturally sweetened up with vanilla and jasmine. The ambergis is salty, earthy and raw without being too rough around the edges or funky, and the vanilla gets sweeter and creamier in conjunction with the dreamwood and jasmine as it dries down. Overall Ambre Saba is a fascinating fragrance. I have not smelled much, nor did I own anything like it prior to purchasing a bottle. While not a huge projector, this definitely leaves an airy scent trail where people will think you just naturally smell good. This seems like what Alberto Morillas was trying to achieve in Mizensir Tres Chere, but he couldn't quite capture the natural, airy marine saltiness. A few other vanilla-marine style perfumes come to mind, but Ambre Saba just trumps them all.

Not an amber as I perceive it, more a fruity vanilla scent with a pinch of salt and black pepper. Very much according to the latest trends set by Baccarat Rouge 540 but not so nuclear and everlasting. I sprayed it once and I'm done, there is nothing more to explore. Despite being overall very meh, it think the execution is good and it also conceptually really fits among the other scents in the RdS discovery set No1.

On my skin it smells of ... absolutely nothing, up to the point I would have thought it was water if I did not buy it from the brand website

Please don't compare this to Bvlgari Jasmine Noir. Not even close. This is red berries with a slightly poopy and salty smelling ambergris a touch of vanilla and a bunch of synthetic dream wood. Bad on every level from beginning to dry down

This is probably the most disappointed I’ve been by a fragrance. I was expecting amber, there’s zero of that here. Ohira? Not one bit. This smells like a middle of the mall non descript women’s fragrance. Citrus and sweet. Not resinous, not balsamic, not vanillic. Not anything like any amber I’ve ever smelled. Not ambergris either. It’s not deep or complex, just a light citrus room spray smelling thing. Don’t pick up on any florals either. So disappointing!

أجمل عطور الدار بالنسبة لي ولكن للأسف نسائي لذلك لن يكون من ضمن مشترياتي. العطر عنبري بشكل لطيف جدا والتوت يطغى على كل مراحل العطر ولكن في كل مره تجد هناك نفحة زهرية تلاحظها ثم تعود رائحة التوت مرة أخرى، جميل جدا وفخم بسبب اللمحة العنبرية وكذلك نعومة الفانيلا أضفت رونق جميل في القاعدة. لحسن الحظ لم أستطع تمييز رائحة الفلفل الأسود لأنني لا أفضلها وقد تكون اندمجت بشكل آخر ضمن المكونات شكلت هذا التناغم. يصلح للمناسبات ونسائي بإمتياز.

On my skin its gourmand, pepper is present but its smooth and fresh. Tried 300+ fragrances only this year but I failed to find any to compare directly yet. This fragrance transported me into cocktail bar having dessert cocktail. Lovely.

Sweet, high pitch jasmine with berries and synthetic amber and woody notes. It is pleasant but synthetic and a bit cloying. The Dream wood aromachemical just doesn't smell good on my skin.

For the first 10 minutes I get the most gorgeous Amber note but then disappears to nothing. What a shame.
