Scandal Pour Femme Essence De Parfum

I love this fragrance so much and get the whole bouquet! First I smell a sweet and fresh bergamot, and it's mixed with lily pollen. It reminds me of when I pull the dark orange anthers off of a bouquet of lilies so the pollen won't stain everything. I know the notes mention lily-of-the-valley, but it's lily pollen I smell. Then comes a mix of jasmine and tuberose, followed by a beautiful gardenia blossom. Finally I detect a hint of orange blossom. Orris, as usual, provides texture. It blurs all of the individual flowers together. In the heart, I get a delightful bubblegum effect. Roja's website says something about Scandal's name--a perfume that "ensures you will be talked about". Something like that. I think the name is clever, but my second choice would be Siren. I envision a daring Victorian woman wearing this perfume while walking past a bunch of prudish, violet-and-rose-wearing Victorian people, some of whom, upon smelling her sillage, gasp so hard that they choke on their own spit. Very upset, they mumble, "How shameful!" "Unabashedly sinful!" and, "An utter tart!" as they cover their children's eyes. This is it: Scarlett O'Hara's perfume when she is wearing that drop-dead gorgeous dark red dress, with the sparkles and fluffy feathery stuff on the shoulders. I wanted to mention that the flowers remind me very much of the Bergdorf Goodman perfume he created. Also a huge white floral bouquet. BG contains a little oakmoss and has a haughtier personality, while Scandal Essence feels more youthful, energizing, and modern. So if you like this but want that touch of oakmoss for more of a vintage feel, I'd recommend trying BG. I love both perfumes!

On analysis of the notes in Scandal Essence, I knew I would love this fragrance . From my Roja Dove sample box of the seven essences , this was my favourite being a white floral lover . The opening notes of bergamot and Lily of the valley is outstanding .(read elsewhere this was in the opening notes and I totally agree ) It’s greenness is fleeting though and I wish it stayed on my skin longer . Then , the blooming bouquet of white flowers do their dance . It’s so well made that I can’t pin point the individual notes that follow except Rose which is quite predominant. Then, the orris powdery feel takes over , ever so gently throughout . One spray in the morning lasts over 12 hours and it’s silage is outstanding so I have to be very careful not to overspray. It has that old school composition without being the overpowering formulas of the 80s. It’s gentler than that . The only fault I find is , that it borders too much on the soapy , powdery end which makes this fragrance on the mature side . It does reminds me of a softer Fracas which I have , but I use it minimally due to to its enormous projection . This , however , is a luxurious gentler scent that I had to have in my collection despite the price. I have to admit the vial sample seemed to be more powdery than a full spray from the bottle . I’m so glad I bought the bottle .

When you are the protagonist of a scandal, a crossroads opens up: withdraw into yourself or face the stares and criticism head on. This fragrance celebrates the second choice, walking upright among the crowd and having them gossip behind our backs. How? The combination of notes is certainly striking: inebriating narcotic flowers (among which tuberose stands out), then slightly mitigated by sandalwood and woods. A trail scent, decisive, extremely intense and feminine which in my opinion must be worn expertly and with class, it is not for everyone, it would risk falling into the vulgar. I see it very well on Cleopatra, when in 46 BC. she went to Rome with his newborn son, bringing with her the largest royal procession ever seen with covered elephants, baskets full of gifts, girls dressed in silk, carts loaded with works of art, including obelisks, sphinxes, statues and sacred images . The queen immediately became the protagonist of Roman society dedicated to luxury and pleasure and dictated fashion among the Roman matrons to whom she brought the "chignon" hairstyle invented by her. But Roman society, however open, criticized the sovereign who, I am sure, walked among the crowd carelessly, beautiful and elegant.

Comparison to Scandal parfum. I find the Essence version more youthful, vibrant, modern and uplifting. I purchased a travel spray of the original Scandal to compare, but will stick with the Essence. I do like the original, but compared to Essence it feels a little too heavy. In the Essence you get more citrus in the top, which makes it brighter yet still very floral. This is becoming one of my favorite white floral perfumes ever because I keep trying all my other ones, and none are as clear and natural smelling as this one. There are some fantastic 100% natural perfumes, but they lack the complexity and bright cheerfulness of Scandal Essence.

This scent is heaven, I think it should smell like that in the garden of Eden. That is how it smells there. And every time you get a wiff of it, you start feeling as silly as those cartoon characters - with cupids flying around your head, so intoxicated and quite addicted.

Sweet, white floral, well blended, a bit creamy. Could be cloying in a hot summer. But light and bright and suitable for every day in the UK haha. A pure white bouquet of flowers, sweet without the sugar, quite natural smelling to me. None of the individual notes stand out to me, maybe the tuberose and a bit of orange blossom, maybe a tad lily of the valley giving it a twinge of the vintage... but maybe that’s just because I read the notes...! Beautifully feminine. Nothing sickly, tart, sugary or sour here. And one of the stronger ones I’ve tried from the essence collection. And the bergamot is gone so quickly I barely noticed it was there. I usually prefer an amber formulation under the floral, but this is actually quite nice, as it keeps the white floral throughout. I wouldn’t buy it, as I prefer other styles more, but for what it is it smells great and is really well put together. Edit: It may stay floral throughout, but that’s only a couple of hours before it’s almost a skin scent.

I'm getting a predominantly powdery white floral with some citrusy lime and a bit of creaminess. It's a pretty scent, but a bit too mature due to the powder and not unique enough, to my nose. If the powder was removed, the white floral toned down and the citrus and cream amped up, this would be better. Smell: 7 out of 10 Longevity: 8 out of 10 Feminine For reference, I'm female.

this starts with a lot of tuberose and lily for me. i get a creamy gardenia, rose and orris after a few minutes as well. later on i get some orange blossom that leans a bit soapy, but not too bad. it smells vintage, very 80s to me. while i do like it, it is a bit too powerful and gives me a slight headache. a pretty white floral nonetheless.

Goodness. I am a huge white floral lover but this one is far too mature smelling for me to enjoy it whatsoever. There's also nothing distinguishable here....it's just a massive overdose of white florals, which is a pity. It's not terrible, don't get me wrong. It's just not for someone my age or younger. I'm 35 btw. I certainly wouldn't pay $290/bottle for this one. I know the purple bottle edition of these Roja perfumes are meant to be lighter but lighter doesn't have to equate to less staying power. The staying power on these Essence perfumes are that of EDT's, unfortunately. And considering they're niche and coming from Roja, I expect better. I haven't tried them all but I have tried 5 of the Essence perfumes from Roja and then only one I'm 100% in love w is Elixir Pour Femme Essence however the staying power and silage on that is abysmal. Such a shame.

This is disappointing only because I find it indistinguishable from Guerlain's Jardins de Bagatelle. I sprayed this on one wrist and JdB on the other and they smell exactly - and I mean exactly - the same. I'm surprised that no one in the industry, and particularly over at Roja, seem to have made the connection since so many people on Fragrantica did. Maybe Roja never smelled JdB? IDK, but since I already have a 100ml bee bottle of JdB, which I picked up for around $40 several years ago on the grey market, I don't need a smaller bottle of this at more than 3 times the price.

With all the scents notes I thought I would love this but I sprayed my hand and could barely smell anything it was too soft! Its an eau de toilette. I think the tuberose takes center stage. Hard pass for me.

Not a particularly distinctive white floral. Perfectly nice—but non-remarkable. There are better options both in this line and in the white floral genre.

I find it too old-fashined with heady tuberose that has a huge powdery cloud around it. Without the power it would have been a modern floral in a style of Amouage Honor Woman.

I LOVE this perfume, at first when just sprayed on my wrist, i was like huh, there is one flowery note that kinda put me off, could be the jasmine, but mannn this goes in smoothly, i just had to wait for a little bit then its like a dance, other scent blends in, i dont know much but it just make me feel happy and i can even wear it to sleep cos normally wearing other perfume to sleep would give me headache. And i dont smell the soapiness on me. To me its just dry down soft and slightly sweet. This makes me happy and ya , cant put a price tag on happiness. So for me its worth it, but for others they might not like it as much, like my sister said its not her scent. She is more of a woody scent kinda woman.

This smells very mature to me. And also reminds me of a floral that a smoker would wear when visiting a very expensive hotel. Not for me.

Mature white floral, giving me White Diamonds energy. A white floral a woman 55+ would enjoy.

Beautiful and long lasting. This is a spring fragrance for me. Beautiful.
