Salt Water Vanilla

The first fragrance with a salt note that I love, not just tolerate!! I fell in love when I wanted to use a different scent deodorant than the lavender one, I've used since I was an adolescent. I figured why not vanilla and tried Saltair's roll-on deodorant. It's SO good. I can currently only speak to the actual smell of this but will buy this soon so I can review its performance. The salt is subtle, it's not super mineral-heavy like it is in JHAG Vanilla Vibes (a crime against humanity) and Lancome Idole Aura (tolerable). The vanilla isn't super in-your-face-rich vanilla. It's soft and creamy, and subtly noticeable. Update: Now that I bought the body oil, body butter... and finally(!) the body mist... I can say this may be my favorite, perfect summer vanilla as I've noticed that I don't want to return to my fruity fragrances, as it gets warmer. Everything I said before is still true. The vanilla is lush; the salt is not overbearing. There's a unique spice/tang in the very opening that reels me in. It's very quick fading, though, so if you don't think you'll like that literally do not worry at all. The performance is pretty good! I get a good solid 4-5ish hours on it. Around 3ish hours though the sillage decreases but my coworker could smell me around 5-7 feet away and told me I smelled amazing.

To me, this is a beachy summer vanilla. It opens up with a briny bite that reminds me of Bath & Body Works’ Coconut—same saltiness that hits your nose before the warm sweet creaminess kicks in. This is a great layering scent for a lot of fragrances. I would layer this with the B&BW Coconut, but this also layers well with my other two Saltair Scents—Santal Bloom and Golden Hour. This is salted vanilla ice cream on the boardwalk as opposed to the sweeter more caramel or brown sugar vanillas of winter. This could definitely be worn all seasons, but the saltair ( no pun) brine really lands the whole summer beachy vibe! I love it! Great longevity for a body mist, but that’s been my experience with saltair sprays.Sad they changed to plastic from aluminum. You’ll get about 5 hours at least on skin and it has perfume level longevity on clothing.

I am giving this a love as it is a good layering combo for my vanilla perfumes. I use this spray in conjuction with the matching body cream, and add scents that match the semi-sweet smooth profile. This is a light, salty, woody vanilla .. not plasticky like Palmers tahitan vanilla or gourmand like EOS cashmere vanilla. I find it more pleasant than Plur's vanilla skin, also the price is sooo much more reasonable. Basically a light, quality vanilla that is suitable for professional settings too. Love it, will continue to use it and check out the rest of Saltair's range.

This is a really great summer body mist, the longevity isn't crazy and I wish there was an eau de parfum version. It's quite sweet but it's a little more than just vanilla, sea salt, and sandalwood. There's some linalool, some heliotrope or some other purple flower, there's a light cuddly ricey pudding note somewhere in this. The initial scent is very ultrazur, very oceanic and it burns off quickly and becomes sweet. This is gorgeous and not too cloying (:

I own and love the matching body cream and oil, and the scent is a deep, woody vanilla to my nose. It's not nearly as vanilla-forward and sweet as Vanilla Skin or Bare Vanilla. Today I'm pairing the body cream with Vanilla 28, and it's a great combo for those who like to layer! :) ** Update 2/14 - The body cream/oil is also fabulous paired with Hypnose! <3 ** Update 2/16 - Last combo, I swear! Salt Water Vanilla is excellent with Olympea as well. ;)
