Gelsomino

What a lovely, feminine, natural smelling and soliflore jasmine perfume! I think that this may be even better than my other favorite soliflore jasmine perfume "Jasminum Sambac," which is a perfume made by Chloé that stars in their Atelier Des Fleurs line. Jasminum Sambac is gorgeous, but Gelsomino is lighter and not as pungent smelling as Jasminum Sambac. Whereas Chloé's perfume wouldn't be a perfume you could get away wearing in most offices, Gelsomino could definitely be worn in the office if you restricted it to just 2 sprays and made your sprays one spray on each wrist. It's certainly present, but I don't find it incredibly strong with huge sillage. It also lasts for a fairly long amount of time, lasting 8 1⁄2 hours in total on my skin. If you want a pure and unadulterated jasmine perfume that's high quality and made of the best and purest ingredients, beautiful, romantic, can be worn anywhere day and night and won't knock people out, buy this one. Trust me! It's a super safe blind buy if you love jasmine like me. I'm overjoyed that my blind buy was so successful and I got the sort of perfume I wanted in the end. I'm not disappointed at all and I ADORE this perfume!!! 🥰

Santa Maria Novella's 'Gelsomino' is a jasmine soliflor that' oozes hyper real jasmine grandeur. This would grace the neck of a blushing bride on her white wedding day as it has an innocence and purity but is still bold, powerful and certainly no wallflower. Sprayed onto a tester strip and it comes across as quite potent and intense, but that strip then lasts for days to still carry memories of the scent. Sprayed into the skin, the longevity is not as long as I'd like but dances about your neck/clothing for the next few hours. As expected from a jasmine centered fragrance, it's heady, indolic and is a white floral charmer. If you like Al Rehab's 'Full' then this is the luxurious alternative. It's certainly cheaper than Nasomatto's 'Narcotic Venus'. It's probably the best, most realistic and naturalistic jasmine soliflor, but I now want a little more depth and daring excitement from my jasmine scents.

This is a very realistic flower scent. It's not sickly sweet, but i felt like i had just recently slapped someone in the face with a handful of freshly picked flowers. The pollen is unmistakable, it's just like the real deal.. If i sprayed this in my room, you'd emediatly think id left my window open for the fresh spring air all night. Its not extremly light, a somewhat weight to it just like standing in a meadow would. I imagine the dry down to this will be wonderful, as if i was secretly carrying a bundle of Jasmine in my pocket. But for now, as i sit in the waves of topnotes, i feel fine in my field of flowers.

Heavenly, beautiful, veil of soliflore. It's as if I am draped in the scent of a sprawling jasmine bush, heavy and fragrant, like a snow-fall. It's the best scent of jasmine captured in a breeze. Indolic crème fantasy. I adore it. Perfect night fragrance.

Naturalistic jasmine soliflore that’s actually quite unique. Ageless, lovely, pleasant. I don’t find it smelling like fresh jasmine. Smells like a bag of fine jasmine tea after being steeped in hot water, also like dried orange blossoms.

I own the 2020 version of this fragrance and I'm reviewing it before finally selling it. It is quite a beast! I've owned Gelsomino Nobile (Acqua di Parma) in the past and I currently own the 2023 version of Gucci Flora's Gorgeous Jasmine: this is a very different jasmine! It is one for the true lovers of realistic jasmine, with a prominent indolic vein all throughout the evolution, it's almost what i would expect from an essential oil? I'm not sure how to put it but it just has this dense and extremely natural feeling to it. Gelsomino Nobile (ADP) is much softer, gentler, and tamer, and to my nose it has pretty much no indoles. It doesn't really make sense to compare it to Gorgeous Jasmine (Gucci), since it's not a solinote, but for those reading who own it: imagine it being completely stripped off of its crisp, sparkling notes, and in a darker, thicker coat. To me this is what Lust by Lush wanted to be: Lust has a dirty feeling, not in a sensual-animalic way to me but just in a dusty, slightly dated way, while this instead is truly floral and animalic at the same time, just like true jasmine is, which I'm not really capable of pulling off, especially since it's one of the most persistent fragrance I own (6-8 solid hours on hydrated skin). Exclusively for jasmine lovers!

Really, really, pretty. Very dense - but not a "soliflore" to me - it's a lightly indolic, buttery, creamy jasmine-scented hand lotion-type of smell. You could get away with convincing people this was just your natural "just-out-of-the-shower", freshly lotioned-type of smell. Vibe: slightly mature, well-groomed woman Occasion: if lightly-applied, as someone said below, potentially work-appropriate. If not, absolutely hot, steamy, balmy summer evenings with a loved one.

This is a citrusy take on jasmine. In the opening, I get the bergamot along with a bit of neroli (not a listed note), and a beautiful jasmine. The jasmine is light and clean, it doesn't go in an indolic direction. It doesn't transition much through the wear, remaining citrus and jasmine the entire time; it also sits very close to the skin. On me, it lasts only about 2.5 hours with very little projection. Is feminine IMO. The poor performance ruins it for me. A unicorn. One of the best jasmine soliflores ever . . . and a good one is extremely hard to find. The real scent of the flower is so sweet and delicate, it often comes across as cheap and saccharine in perfume form. Especially when jasmine is the main note. Most perfumers use a lesser quality due to budget concerns, i.e. the expense of natural absolutes, which are usually either solvent or CO2 extractions. I don't wear a lot of jasmine-centric scents b/c of the too sugary, too chemical aspect of most. But SMN's Gelsomino is wonderful. It smells like a natural flower. As if you were wearing a jasmine garland in full bloom vs. a perfume. Gelsomino's formula is so old it doesn't have a date . . . the monks have had centuries to perfect the formula! Their jasmine absolute is intense and extremely organic. On me, it is linear, and held its scent throughout the drydown. Different shadings came through depending on how close my nose was to my skin. Similar to smelling a bloom, the closer, the creamier. Now that I've found a good jasmine I'm crazy about though, it, too, is extremely hard to find. It's not being offered by SMN currently, so my quest to find an FB is on!

Such a beautiful, true Jasmine! Pure Jasmine that smells soft and feminine. I don't know if it's the bottle, or just knowing the history of SMN but it really feels special and classic.

fruity-sweet jasmine sambac on chewy violet-scented hand soap. It has that SMN touch where it smells like an old school apothecary product produced 500 years ago.
