Rose in the Shadow

This is an unique and interesting take on roses. Like the name suggests, the roses are indeed in the shadow. Don't expect a pink, girly, soft rosy scent, because it's not. It's more of a patchouli forward (I don't sense it earthy) and orris, blended with spices. I can get the coriander and the pepper,a soft powderiness, a floral touch in the background and hints of fruitiness. This is very potent, a bit dark and mysterious I would dare to say. The roses I get from here are not pink like the scent you get from Rose de May fir example, it's almost like a red rose when starts to fade. ROSE in the SHADOW is very deep and complex. With every sniff I can get something new, it's like it has many phase of metamorphosis. It's not linear at all on my skin. Once it dries down I sense woodsy notes, some incency whiffs and a cooling, refreshing touch, like it would have eucaliptus in it ( although not listed as a note ). At this point the patchouli it gets softer. Rose in the Shadow is one of those fragrances that made me love patchouli. This is a beautiful fragrance and if you want something sophisticated, unique, that will make you stand out in the crowd and mysterious you might need this, but if you want something girly, or soft, this might not be for you. I also think it's perfectly unisex and because it's a strong scent, I see it more proper for fall-winter time.

It's a warm late summer evening. You have just finished a long day in the garden. Your hands are dirty, there are grass stains on your knees, and tufts of moss in your hair. The air is humid, and you think there will be a thunderstorm tonight, bringing the scent of damp earth and rain on asphalt. The rosebush in the arbor is in full bloom. Large, heavy roses that almost touch the ground; on the verge of fading, yet still beautiful. You have been served a bowl of freshly picked raspberries, blueberries, and milk, and as you lift the spoon to your mouth, you think that this is how summer should smell. I personally love this fragance, and the scent memories it brings with it. It's heavier on the patchouli to me, and not so much the rose - but the rose that is there is not the stuffy, old lady rose - but a warm sun on a dirty rose garden. Simple but beautiful

This is a very interesting rose. It’s smoky, tart from the raspberries, soft... all in one.

Very few smells make me nauseous but this is one of them. I read somewhere that this was supposed to smell like a proper rose in the garden, fresh and lovely. It does not. It ́s very spicy and old lady floral rose.

Piercing scent. Screechy rose with thorns and tons of patchouli. Some fruity notes, some magnolia. Aromachemicals that burn the nostrils. What is it? it has a molecule that really hurts my sinuses, what an ugly sensation! A sample is more than enough! do not blind buy this chemical soup!
