Tea-Tea

The opening to this fragrance is characterised by zesty lime and bergamot notes, which initially made it lean somewhat masculine to my nose. I liked it well enough, but as a girl who tends to stick with florals, I wasn’t sure that it was for me. Then the tea kicked in – a rich, dark, smoky Earl Grey – and it became wonderfully smooth and unisex. This is a fragrance that’s absolutely made for weekend getaways in the country: there’s plenty of pine, moss and vetiver to keep everything fresh and bracing, while the leather, frankincense and tea all work together to give an underlying depth to the base. The kind of woman that I envision wearing this is the confident, outdoorsy type – the kind of woman who might work in the city, but is most completely herself in a quilted gilet and a pair of Dubarry knee boots – and it’s got a relaxed, laid-back vibe that I really enjoy. It might be a little too casual for the office by itself, but it layers beautifully with florals or powdery fragrances and I found it a surprisingly versatile way of livening up some old work favourites. Maybe it’s just because I’m writing this in December, but there’s something a little Christmassy about ‘Tea-Tea’; the citruses, pine, and frankincense combo make it a lovely wintery scent (although it's so bright and fresh in the top notes that I’m sure it would work equally well in warmer weather too). What can I say? It’s another win from SoM!

I have the original and the re-mixed and I prefer the new one, it's much more Jasminey and stronger than the original. For a natural perfume, it's amazing!

This is such a wonderfully fresh perfume! One of my favourites by Scents of Man and I wear it a lot, especially during the Spring and Summer months.

Just my first impressions after winning a little bottle in a fantastic giveaway competition! I'm something of a novice when it comes to artisanal, indie or even niche perfumery, given that so far I've generally stayed on the designer fragrance path. The first thing I noticed with the non-designer (or even popular niche stuff much of which is similar to designer imo, just more expensive), is that these scents don't jump out at you, they aren't as effervescent or fizzy, maybe a lot of this is down to the greater use of natural ingredients. Anyway, the result of this seems to be that you have to give these more natural fragrances more time to unfold and to really reveal themselves, or more time for one's nose to tune itself into what it is smelling. So far this is one of my favourite Scents of Man creations I've experienced, I'm not surprised though being a lover of all things citrus! I kind of agree with the notes table above, jasmine is prominent to me, that's a note I've only recently come to appreciate to be honest but here it's really nicely blended with the tea and citrus. I definitely get an impression of hay too. This would be a great spring scent, I do think it's a little more on the feminine side of things but I wouldn't have a problem with wearing it.

For a natural perfume, this is amazing - go careful on the spray unless you want to overwhelm everyone around you! After a couple of hours becomes a skin scent with the florals coming through.
