Mandorla Del Sud

The opening 10 minutes knocked my socks off. Okay, yes this has a resemblance to Dior Hypnotic Poison. But, I think it's closer to a cross between Acqua Di Parma Mandorlo Di Sicilia (but better) and Bond Fire Island. It smells like expensive sunscreen, almonds, and shea butter in the drydown. There used to be a lotion made by Hawaiian Tropic called Body Butter in a white container (they now have a cheap one in a green container). It smelled delicious with coconut, almond, and shea butter. It was for post sunburn skin hydration but you could also use it as regular lotion for dry skin. The quality of that stuff was incredible, it literally made my skin feel like silk. But like all good things, it was discontinued, and prices on eBay are insane. This smells EXACTLY like that body butter. Is it worth niche money to smell like expensive lotion, almond and sunscreen? That's for you to decide. I like it, and it has enough backbone to be worn in the cold I believe, so it's versatile. I would consider this for around 100$ USD. It's simple, but it's smooth and enjoyable. Scent 7.5/10 Performance 7.5/10

Somewhat sweet, soft/slightly powdery, and kind of smokey? Not sure what causes the smoke, but it kind of reminds me of burnt wood art (which I just found out is called Pyrography from Google), but in a perfumy way. Maybe like burning incense, but not the frankincense part. More of like the smoke coming from a burning, scented stick in general. The very, very first whiff had some almond elements, but that was covered with the sweetish smoke pretty quickly.

Not a bad scent, but somehow this smells more like suntan lotion in the opening than an almond pastry. Whenever I see amber listed as a note in a fragrance like this, I immediately think of ambroxan. There is some sort of molecule in here that smells scratchy/woody to me. My favorite from this house is still Leisure in Paradise.

Powdery almond, and surprisingly I detect a very strong leather note, but its not listed? Do not blind buy its not as sweet as its seems to be. The dry down is definitly better than the opening. (Sweeter with more vanilla)

PdM Pegasus clone. Can't distinguish one from another on the blotter. Maybe slightly sweeter and dirtier in the background. Good alternative, since its cheaper, but still, this is copied work.

Not really a fan, the opening smells too bad but eventually turns into a almondy and better smell after some hours. You would expect more from a €150 perfume

I love this house and blind bought a relatively full partial. The notes listed here are just wrong. While this may contain almond, sugar and vanilla, they are not prominant notes, even in dry down. To my nose, this is a masc-leaning scent. I do not get much sweetness, just amber and black pepper--maybe vetiver? It's that same spicy note I get from a lot of men's fragrances and aftershaves. I'm a gourmand lover, so this spicy men's scent is a hard pass for me. Going to spray it on my husband and see if he likes it, lol.

This was not at all like I was expecting, especially since I enjoy Simon Andreoli's Vicebomb so much. My first thought was that Mandorla Del Sud smelled like a cheap plastic toy. It also smelled like generic sunscreen, but not the type with a coconut note. While the plasticky sunscreen note remained, I could occasionally catch a whiff of powdery vanilla. I dislike this scent when it's a sunscreen and certainly don't want to wear it on purpose as a fragrance. It's a huge pass for me.

So much leather. There were moments where I wondered if I liked it, but no, it’s heavy, powdery, leathery, almost with a dirt like characteristic. The leather too very sharp and smokey, but the opening also has some sunscreen. What is this abomination? A big no from me.

Tooth-achingly sweet. Reminiscent of sugared almond paste. Makes me think of those fancy pastry desserts that look like fruits but are made from almond paste. I got this for a sample. So not a fan, but I am not a gourmand lover so not my jam.

In my view, it leans distinctly feminine: it has an elegant sweetness and a luminous delicacy that feels most natural on feminine skin—especially for those who love fragrances that don’t need to demand attention to be remembered. I see it as perfect for autumn and winter, when you want something that warms you without weighing you down, but it also works beautifully on summer evenings, when the air becomes softer and slower. It’s a scent for quiet moments, small gestures, and days when you want to feel comfortable in your own skin. Mandorla del Sud isn’t nostalgia—it’s presence. It’s the fragrance of someone who chooses sweetness as a form of strength, and wears it without the need for explanation.

I can understand the intention but the results is heavy, really hard to wear, very intense and slightly acidic. Gets a bit better but I still feel a bit confused and disappointed. As an almond perfume lover im not sure about this one, feels unfinished ? Like there is a bit of balancing to do.

I detect a nice plastic accord but not a sweet almond one, more like a slightly aromatic after shower kind. Like a thick plastic shower curtain where you took a steamy shower and used L’Occitane Almond oil to cleanse and moisturize afterwards. It’s hot and sexy somehow.

Had to look up the notes because I was confused - I was expecting almond. The notes confirm, there is supposed to be almond, but all I get is melting plastic My Little Pony toys with a little added sweetness.
