Corvin's Smoked Apple

wow! this is seriously such a comfort to me. a really beautiful scent that reminds me of growing up in new england. i wish it were still available to purchase in the EDP formulation 3

This opens with *bacon*, I swear! Eventually, the meaty smell relaxes and a caramelized apple comes out amid the smoke. But this is still, very much, a barbecue scent.

Much to the chagrin of my partner I love smoky things. This is right up my alley. Its the apple fest but with less caramel and more smoke. The smoke balances it out and I find this much more wearable. Perfect thing to wear to go apple picking today. You do kind have to reapply this one a bit so its good it cones in a small roller. Hopefully the bees won’t be following me around.

Fairly sweet, but also with some smoke, reminiscent of Inquisitor also by Solstice Scents, but not as choking. Lasts a good long time, and you will say "what is that awesome smell?! Oh, it's me!" Smell it on myself the next day.

Sweet, crisp, fresh apple with the standard SS smoke note. I would use this for layering with a vanilla or caramel themed fragrance.

I love the smell of wood-burned smoke but I don't do well with it in perfumes, I've found. Upon application I got the caramel apples, which I loved, but it quickly dried down to pure smoke on me, which is disappointing. I think my skin pulls smoke notes more, and they end up smelling almost barbeque like. I can see the appeal but this one isn't for me.

I love smoke! I love apple! Unfortunately the sweet/tarte apple paired with thick smoke does give the impression that you smeared BBQ sauce all over and keep catching a whiff. Gives me stress like I need to wash my hands and wipe my face. A very unfortunate result. I am not a huge fan of apple scents, I guess I’m afraid they’re going to smell like those horrible green apple martinis, which in turn smell like those super gross Jolly Ranchers. And don’t get me wrong–I actually love apples, that is to say, the real thing. I don’t much care for the eating of fruit overall (don’t fear for my health–I love vegetables!) but I have been known to say that the apple is the only fruit worth a damn. So it’s not that I don’t like them! I generally just don’t like apple-scented things; they’re typically a neon, cartoon parody of their true selves. So, knowing this about myself, the sampling, then, of Corvin’s Smoked Apple is such a marvelously wonderful surprise; this is the most sweetly nuanced smoke-scent I have ever encountered: woodsmoke; smoldering apple bits, if you, say, roasted a Honeycrisp over a campfire; the burnt caramelized edges of a brown-sugar-y baked thing, and a touch of earth and detritus from the forest floor that has crept into the flames. Unexpected and utterly delicious.
