Gibbon's Mischief Night

Really good gourmand. Syrupy sweet, I love Solstice Scent's cream soda note (also in Foxcroft Fairgrounds), and I get that here, with marshmallow, white chocolate, and a bit of booze. REALLY great for Fall, and the performance on the oil is great, lasts me all day and projects strongly. Might be tempted to buy the EDP. A good oil for any gourmand lover.

white chocolate popcorn with lots of vanilla and sweet roasted marshmallows. The smoke and woods add a rich depth to the scent and the pear brandy comes in as boozy note in the background. The dry down is a beautiful toasted, buttery, sweet woody gourmand. One of my favorites from this brand!

Absolutely love love love this one, since it smells JUST LIKE S'MORES! This was a blind buy and honestly? If you need good fall/Halloween vibes, this is it! Or if you just like sweet, sugary scents lol

Wonderfully atmospheric with a hint of fireplace in the background. Starts sweet and almost warm before fading into a cool nighttime blackness.

VERY heavy opening of hot, buttered popcorn with a cream soda kick. I'm not loving it but let's see where this goes... Settles into a super sweet & salty gourmand. If that's your jam than this is your dream come true! Smooth and creamy, well blended. I detect no fruit notes at any time. The woods creep in late, providing a base that makes this more wearable than the initial impression would indicate. A very special fragrance, just not to my taste. Happy to have tested it though. Cookies, candy, potpourri, hot buttered nuts, caramel corn and booze.

Having spent a goodly amount of time in the kitchen baking, I can assure you that I know a thing or two about invoking the temptations of a sugary-sweet atmosphere, a beacon to thieving, sweet-toothed bandits everywhere, and their corresponding rotten, sneaky fingers. And also, yes, I know, I began this piece talking about fall feelings and autumnal observations and all that, but, whatever it is that the weather is doing, I cannot overlook that it is, in fact, already the second week of December and these seasonal treats aren’t going to bake themselves! At any rate, the masterminds at Solstice Scents far exceed my admittedly scant expertise when it comes to alerting the tummies to rumble and calling forth the midnight cookie sneaker. The scent’s backstory: “The austere and formidable Gibbon’s Boarding School will be opening its doors for the annual Mischief Night: a night of Halloween costumes, live music, apple bobbing and games of hide-and-seek within its extensive rooms and gardens.” Now, I (sadly) don’t live in Solstice Scents’ fictional town of Foxcraft, nor have I attended anyone’s Mischief Night celebratory revels, but just as with anything else in life–if there’s an abundance of free food, I will accept your invitation. I envision a refreshments table staggering under the weight of a multitude of mouth-watering promises: sugar cookies iced with orange-colored vanilla frosting, popcorn smothered in creamy white chocolate, charming little toasted marshmallow pillows studded with graham cracker crumbles, and vanilla cream soda punch spiked with golden, oaky bourbon and a nip of pear brandy. This enchanting combination of confiture, though it needs no embellishment, is subtly enhanced by the hallowed halls and history of the sprawling brick school, itself. Dry, cracked leather, dusty woodwork, and autumn air round out this complex, gourmand fantasy

Not knowing the notes, I immediately recognised like a creamy white chocolate note with the scent of chimney smoke in the distance (mainly in the opening) with an autumnal air scent (the dried fallen leaves really added to that). The soda, liqour and popcorn notes aren't distinct enough for me to pinpoint but I can tell these add the unusual nuances and depth this scent has as it definitely isnt just a straight forward white chocolate, smoke and autumn leaf scent. It has an unusual buttery corn scent and other little bits that are hard to describe. Overall if you love gourmands and want an october/halloween/autumnal gourmand that isn't your overdone pumpkin or chai spice thing, this is really beautiful and perfect. I prefer this over mainemoon and foxcroft fairgrounds as it is less 'strange' and more wearable generally. Mainemoon is sweet and distinctly 'corn fields' smelling to me and foxcroft fairgrounds has a really strange combination of notes where something in it starts to smell a bit yuck on me.

Another hyper realistic fragrance from Angela where you can smell all the notes listed on the solstice website. I absolutely adore the cream soda note from solstice. Also this fragrance develops so beautifully. Probably a 10/10 for me through two wears ill be ordering either a 60 ml this or foxcroft fairgrounds for the fall release.

Delicious. Smells like syrupy white chocolate, vanilla, the powdery marshmallow scent you get when you open a bag of marshmallows, and the slightest hint of popcorn.

this is one of the only fragrances where I can actually smell all the notes listed, and which fits the official description perfectly. bravo!

The opening smells like scotcharoo bars, and I’m hooked by that alone.
