Halloween Night

This is such an evocative smell, and really is exactly, realistically what it is crafted to be; a Halloween pail filled with candies and a few crumpled candy wrappers because some of it was impatiently eaten on the way home. The predominant note is a strong, sticky black licorice, accompanied by chocolate and caramel, toasted marshmallow and a bit of gingerbread. There are black licorice vines inside the pail, some Mary Janes (molasses taffys), jelly beans, Snickers, 1000 Grand Bars, Milk Duds, Milky Way, Baby Ruths, Butterfingers, Circus Peanuts, Mallow Cups, Bit O’Honey, and candy corn. With all of these together, you could think it might be gross and sickeningly sweet, but it isn’t. This is not cloying or overly powerful, at all, it is actually very pleasant and soft. You must love licorice to love this one.

This has been my favorite Solstice Scents fragrance (followed closely by Iced Persimmon). If you are a gen-x’er and grew-up as a kid in the 70’s or 80’s, then you remember the very time-specific smell of those boxed costumes with the thin plastic masks held on my a tiny elastic... the plastic Jack-o-lantern trick-or-treat pails... and the old-school mix of candy that would fill them. This brings me right back to the 80’s, sticking my nose into those buckets to look at my candy and getting that delicious whiff of chocolate, caramel, sugar, and even a teeny bit of Halloween plastic. Perfect - so, so well done!

I recently got this but I have to rave about it! Halloween Night smells like exactly how it sounds and al of the notes really do appear. On first application it’s really buttery and I get the caramel and chocolate wrappers, but it morphs into the other scents and settles on my skin with the black jelly beans. Black Mallow is one of my favorite fragrances by Solstice Scents and it smells similar to that but way more complex and lighter on the licorice! Such a cheery bountiful Halloween scent!

This one is definitely one of my favorite smells. I kept the roller ball 5ml in my purse & now the label is faded. I wish she would make a glace or edp of this. But definately smells like Sambuca/ black licorice/ caramel corn candy bars & waxy wrapper exactly smells like it is described. I smell a coffee smell at times but I've had mine for Years. I need more! But in edp spray damn it

Oooo i love this!!! Immediately i smelt marshmallows and caramel. I imagine this is what Sabrina the Teenage Witch’s room smelt like. That 90s “whimsigothic” vibe. I bought a Christmas cookie candle last year that smelt almost exactly like this which is probably why it smells like candles to me

It lasts a long time on clothes. I put on a tiny bit of the oil 12 hours ago and I can still smell it strongly. It reminds me of cinnamon graham crackers! Delicious!

Smells exactly like sticking your head in a bowl of candy from Halloween. I love it

Sniffing this from the sample tube is a painful mistake and just reads as screaming SUGAR and SALTY POPCORN!!! Applied, it's much more mellow. Thank God. But not really what I crave smelling like. It goes quickly into black licorice territory, which I usually wouldn't like, but was ok here. The salty popcorn takes another hour and a half to appear. All the while, it's just quietly moving in the background. Not as scary once applied as it is in the tube.

Opens very rich and buttery? A few black jellybeans peek out. It becomes sweeter, more interesting, and darker/deeper as it dries down. If you were really creative, you'd have named it Devil's Night (featured in The Crow-maybe you've seen it?). But instead the name is so cliche, and the smells? I don't really care to smell like candy corn, caramel, or licorice. Whereas again, you could have used "Absinthe," or "Worm Wood, or "Poe," been so much more creative really. Black licorice, as well as real Absinthe, is a strong, horrible smell, so don't want to smell like that either. I guess if you are from Alachua, that seems reasonable, but this gave me a migraine. Do Not Recommend.

I have no idea how Angela crafts her scents or the technology that goes into them, but I love this for the pops of realistic yumminess I get. Sure, when I first rolled this along my collarbone and behind my ears, I got SNICKERS. But then I got graham crackers and popcorn balls when I went outside (chilly rain). And my hair smells like black jelly beans. This is so much fun! My only complaint is this and Maine Moon (my two fave gourmies from SS) don't have EDPs. I would love to have this and MM in a potent spray. I may have grown past my gourmand perfume "phase" but I'll always be a goth kid that loves Halloween. My email to SS about having MMoon in an EDP makes sense- the oil/original scent does not translate well into an EDP- smell wise. Customers wouldn't get what they expected. Totally understandable, and they said they do keep trying!
