Lavender Vanilla

I love this perfume oil, the lavender isn't sharp nor is the vanilla cloying at all. They both go together so wonderfully, they seem to dance around my nose. This is a definite favorite for bedtime. And the oil wears forever on me! An added bonus is that I have loved almost every Solstice sample that I've tried. That in itself is very unusual. When I realized that my husband (who is very picky about what I apply) has not disliked anything that I have tried from Solstice Scents, I'm taking this as a sign that I need to scratch this itch more frequently. I love it, perfect for bedtime but also just a lovely, natural, relaxing scent. The vanilla is so soft and lovely and compliments the lavender perfectly. I added this sample to my order not thinking that I would like it as much as I do but now it’s one of my favorites. So pretty.

I wear a dab of this at night with Wilcox, and it's wonderful. Very soothing. Smells exactly like it should.

Great for bedtime, only lavender and vanilla. Very natural and easy.

The Solstice Scents Lavender accord is a really weird one. It is awesome when it's low in the mix, and really bad when it's a super prominent note. It smells like floor cleaner for the first hour or so of wear. When it's on the background of a fragrance, this isn't actually a bad thing though! I think the perfumer really, really knows what they're doing but missed the mark with lavender.. I purchased a sample of this, not the full size, along with many, many other samples from this brand. This fragrance follows in the footsteps of Estate Lavender, with the very prevalent lavender accord that comes off extremely floor cleaner-like, but adds a strong vanilla note. This is significantly better than Estate Lavender though, due to the extra vanilla and how the blend dries down. The first hour or so this pretty bad. It's like a Glade air freshener or something, maybe even weirder and worse than that. It has a weird synthetic chemical quality mixed with a very natural lavender quality. I suspect (with no proof) that this is a lavender accord made up of natural and synthetic lavender elements, and there's too much of one aromachemical and my nose is really picking up on that one. The synthetic quality of the lavender makes the sweetness in the fragrance feel weird and off. Kind of like the "weird" sweetness of pineapple that's just starting to rot. I think the weirdness of the lavender is just throwing off other elements in the blend. But...once the Lavender fades a bit into the background it becomes magical. It still smells like floor cleaner, but just a hint of that smell is actually amazing. Like the day after you deep clean your bathroom and you can smell just a little bit of a cleaner smell left over, it's not strong enough to single the nostrils, but it's prevalent enough to let you know the room is clean and it gives you an inner calmness. It's like that! Once the lavender fades a bit and calms down it mixes PERFECTLY with the vanilla, which is pretty sweet but also gives off a warm feeling at the same time. I feel like Solstice Scents should reformulate their Lavender accord for when it's a spotlight note, and maybe leave this present accord for when using lavender as a deep background note. So overall, it's a really unbalanced fragrance. I will not be purchasing a full size of this due to the opening. But if you can get past the first 1-1.5 hours, to let the lavender mellow out, you'll find something really special.

its okay. VERY sweet. i saw someone else say that this would be a better version of sleepy ghost by poesie (which i adore but wish was more potent and long-lasting)... its not at all, the marshmallow cant be swapped for vanilla. i think as far as sweet creamy lavenders go, this one is not my favorite. the vanilla is the main character here for sure

For the first few seconds I could pick out lavender, but it quickly turns into cheap vanilla body spray. To me it’s a nauseating synthetic vanilla cookie smell.

Well, I bought some samples off of their website - 6 sample set - And thought I liked them all fairly well, they did not last worth a darn on me, even with jojoba oil underneath for lasting power. And these are really oily and dark liquids, so you should be aware that you must be careful of your clothing. I will say that the Lavender Vanilla smelled exactly like what is says.

The new EDP version is divine...more than the sum of its parts as they say.
