Postprandial

Oh my goodness! I've been looking for the perfect coffee scent, and this is it. So realistic -- like an espresso mixed with 70% cocoa chocolate. Super gorgeous layered with Violet Mallow (what I'd hoped D&G The Only One would be like!) or Winter Dove (great depth and roundedness with the vanilla and nutmeg; this is my favourite). Sillage is quite good on me but longevity is lacking -- both due to the alcohol base I suppose.

I just recently got a sample of this out of season. I just tried directly from the mail without resting. The Irish cream smells so good. And the tobacco note is the most realistic I have had so far. I thought it would be to sweet or femme on me but it’s so well balanced and the oil form is not too strong for me. I’ll Def use this sample up come winter!

POSTPRANDIAL is a sweet and mellow gourmand with a beautiful Bailey's Irish Cream opening, similar to the one by Demeter but much higher quality with better proformance and no odd (sour milk/plasticity) notes to ruin it in the dry down. The boozy start with a hint of hot chocolate, which settles into soft sweetness also reminds me of 3 SERENDIPITOUS. As POSTPRANDIAL develops the creamy quality remains but blonde woods gradually enter to gently balance the sweetness, this makes it incredibly wearable. The longer dry down reveals a bit of sticky pipe tobacco in the base. I do not find coffee at anytime, more like coffee creamer. This is a very round and smooth skin scent for snuggling or pleasing yourself. Perfectly unisex and non-offensive. Possibly too sweet to be professional depending on your work, I wouldn't wear this on the job. Close up I get the full scent story but whiffs when moving are very edible, sweet snack vibes. I also purchased the PERFUME EXTRAIT rollerball and will update this review to compare formulas. P.S. I've bought bottles of Kerosene's FOLLOW multiple times so I can confidently report POSTPRANDIAL smells absolutely nothing like it! They are not even related. I like this one but it's not as brilliantly unique and stunningly seductive as FOLLOW. POSTPRANDIAL is sweet and smooth but lacks the edge that makes FOLLOW so heartbreakingly beautiful. POSTPRANDIAL is an enchanting dream while FOLLOW is an epic legend. UPDATE I have compared the PERFUME EXTRAIT rollerball to this Eau de Parfum spray bottle, on opposite wrists. The spray has a hot cocoa note in the opening that is absent from the rollerball. The spray is a more complex and satisfying scent overall while the rollerball is nice but less nuanced. The spray projects further (about 3ft with two sprays) while the rollerball stays close (1ft at most). As for longevity, I notice the spray more but sniffing the skin close-up they both last about the same. If I hadn't gotten the spray I might enjoy the rollerball more but as it is, I'll just be using it up by layering them together. I'm glad I spent the extra cash on the full bottle of this scent! NOTE I am also comparing the two different formulas of SMOKY MOUNTAIN MOLLOW, VANILLA PIPE TABACCO, and FOXCROFT FAIRGROUNDS to see how they measure up.

what a delectable treat! I confess that I am not a gourmand lover per se. At least I have not really fancied the sugary concoctions that are widely available in the industry. It may be due to the fact that I have found many of them just too much in the face and stomach turningly unnatural. But many Solstice scents have found the way to my heart ... they are smooth and smell natural. Now, with regards to Postprandial. It's a latte with a nice dose of Baileys, laced with bit of cream on top. With regards to chocolate and coffee notes, for me it is white chocolate and white coffee. On the drydown the tobacco is a bit more accentuated and the vanilla stays too, bit like a slightly spiced white chocolate bar. Safe for blind buy. I find it's leaning towards feminine but a confident guy could easily pull this one off.

The perfect scent for cozying up on the sofa in the evening and having a stiff drink. It smells strongly of Bailey's Irish Cream at first, meaning it's more of a weekend/evening scent and not so much for work (unless you work in a bar!) I get a bit of chocolate in there as well, and in the dry down the tobacco really comes through for me. This one doesn't last long on my skin, but it's great for pairing with other scents. I like it with Camp Willow - it's like drinking spiced cocoa around the campfire!

This doesn't have much throw in comparison to Solstice's more spicy/sweet scents. However, dare I say it, I think Postprandial makes an excellent masculine gourmand. Due to the well-blended boozy and tobacco notes, this can be worn by both men and women who do not enjoy sweet/cloying or "edible" gourmands.

Nice boozy coffee. To me this is less of dark, rich chocolate, as I am getting more vanilla notes. It's like a creamy vanilla latte with a bit of Bailey's. It looses some sweetness as it dries down and could have more projection. It's just more of a weak scent but is delicious. Definitely unisex.

This is yummy. I bought it last year and forgot about it. It smells strong and delicious. Syrupy booze and vanilla.
