Red Shirt

Sweet fruity powdery opening carried by vanilla and anise interesting pops of rosemary and citrus as it tranistions to the middle notes it smells like a mix of JPG le male terrible and Givenchy pi neo... i also detect a woody aquatic coconut amber and tonka bean great blind buy for the price point the transitions are subtle but blended well it's becoming incresingly rare and the prices are rising get it while it last.

Bought it for a bit of fun. turns out better than I anticipated. it was cheap and it was nice. I certainly would buy it again although I did feel a bit uncomfortable wearing a red shirt on a night out (star trek fans will get what I am taking about)

Powdery, but offset by the fruit notes. Very masculine, in a warm and comforting way. Lavender is almost an odd note amidst the rest, makes it not really an everyday scent. More for special occasions.

Much like the previous reviewer, I purchased this with a wink and a nerdy grin, along with generally low expectations. And similarly, I did decide I like Red Shirt - at least somewhat. But do I see myself wearing it? I'm not too sure just yet. This is not a case of love at first sniff... My first impression on trying Red Shirt for the first time was that I'd just sprayed myself with a concentrated shot of Dr. Pepper - fruity, spicy, slightly nutty and cloyingly sweet. Though nice enough in a beverage, I found the scent to be frankly off-putting in a fragrance. And then upon dry down the composition changed a bit... to what I can only describe as the scent of a bunch of bruised and mashed summer fruits gathered up in an old leather jacket, doused with vanilla creme anglaise and topped with a sprig of lavender. In time, the fruit salad vibe gives way somewhat to something resembling a generic fruity shower gel/dryer sheet accord, but in a way that oddly marks an improvement in the scent development. It's weird, but at the same time, oddly familiar and actually not bad. As a $12 blind buy, that's not much to lose on what is at very least a really cool bottle. As a scent, it may not be for everyone. The closest and really only comparable I could come up with is Amici after shave by RazoRock, which like this one, I like but don't love. Performance-wise... I'd say it's about average in terms of sillage, somewhat above average in longevity. But hey, does anyone really care about that in a $12 Star Trek label? Nah, didn't think so! ;)

Alright, this is just nuts. I haven't picked my bottle of Red Shirt up in quite some time, but the scent of it is just so unique I could recognize it anywhere. And I'm not gonna lie to you - I actually like it. Unique, or so I thought. On a recent trip to Paris, I chanced upon a whiff of something I could swear was Star Trek Red Shirt -- but in just about the last place you'd ever expect that sort of thing... the Creed Boutique... While I was in the store, I must have tested darn near everything they had out -- so I can't be sure which one it was that reminded me so much of this one, but based on notes listed and knowing which ones I did test and liked, I suspect it may be Millesime Imperial. So similar, yet elevated in a way one should expect of something costing several times as much. So I ordered a bottle online and am eagerly awaiting it. If the two turn out to be as similar as my first impression, this Red Shirt may turn out to be a legitimate steal. I will follow up once I'm able to test the two side by side. EDIT: Well, it kinda sorta smells like Millesime Imperial - but not so much on skin. It's one of those things where if you smell the caps they share some similarities - which has to come down to that very clingy mixed fruit essence - but again, on skin the two are very different from each other. In any case, I stand by my "like" for this one. Just never EVER wear it on "away missions!" ;)
