Tiberius

My roommate has, I think, all of the Star Trek novelty colognes: Tiberius, Shirtless Kirk, Sulu, Red Shirt, and the limited edition, Khaaann! and George Takei's Eau My. So far I've tried all of them except Khaaann! (I'm told it's strong enough your neighbors will leave town) and they all seem to be safe, friendly, citrusy scents. Originally Red Shirt was my favorite, but on retry, I really like Tiberius. Red Shirt is a little younger and heavier. Tiberius is sweet without being cloying.

Not remarkably original by any means, 'Tiberius' is a fruity-aquatic aromatic fougere with a definite 90's feel- something akin to and like a mixture of Escape, Eternity, One, and Cool Water. Despite this, it is put together well, and performs nicely throughout a warm day, leaving a classic base of coumarin/moss/orris/white musk to scent the skin. I've only tried 2 of the Star Trek frags so far, and bought them more for their bottles and collectibility; the frags themselves are nice for their price, but seem to have been designed as "safe bets" with mass-appeal in mind- no "wows" to be found here.

My father is a huge Star Trek fan (Trekkie I think is what they call them). I purchased Tiberius for his birthday (unsniffed/blind buy). After I bought it, I realized that I wanted to give this a try and so I bought a second one for myself. The comparison to Just Me for Men by Paris Hilton really piqued my interest. That was one of my beloved scents. And I'm all for fruits in men's fragrances! In addition, yellow is my favorite color. My father has sent me a bunch of texts that his coworkers have been complimenting him left and right when he started wearing Tiberius. I thought that was a great thing to hear - positive feedback! Well, Tiberius is good in a mainstream way. It smells like a sweeter version of Escada's Sunset Heat for Men. Where Sunset Heat has this soapy nuance, Tiberus does not have that, but it's dominated with sweet, citrus fruits and lavender. It's very "airy" and fresh. I can absolutely see why most people would compliment this fragrance - there's nothing negative to pick out. No corners were cut and no obvious cheap, nasty, cloying, grating synthetics were used. With that said, I already have Sunset Heat and Adidas Fresh Impact which are nearly identical to Tiberius. Out of the three, I prefer Tiberius for it's price ($13usd) and it's packaging (opulent, yellow bottle).

Tiberius opens with a supernova of muguet, freesia, and sweet "fresh" notes of no discernible nature. Very bright, very floral, very fresh, and reminiscent of the mid 1990s. It dries down an hour later into a fairly hollow Acqua di Gio idea, with maybe a touch of a generic sport deodorant accord to fill in the gaps. I actually think it smells very good considering it's a Star Trek fragrance, but it won't win any awards for originality or quality. The bottle supplier must also provide for Versace - same size, shape, and cap.

Bought it on a blind buy have to say it's a bit floral, the lavender and juniper berries are so strong in my batch. I don't mind it but I have to agree with people that say it smells a bit young. I can see myself growing to like it but my batch isn't showing the fruits besides the citrus, think the opening is what reminds me of acqua de gio. Totally reminds me of my ex who wore the crap out of that scent.

Just got this today. Fruity not that spicy but the mix of all the notes including the pineapple really stands out to me. Not really a unique scent as this to me is a clone of Paris Hilton Just Me for men only more fruity. I'll update later to give my opinion on the performance, sillage and Longevity
