Cigar Rum Parfum

Strangers Parfumerie Cigar Rum Parfum is a 2024 flanker to the original 2017 Cigar Rum, a fittingly more pungent and spicy variation that nonetheless has the appropriate combination of rum and tobacco at its center, peppered by dried fruits, cinnamon, woods, and vetiver, making for a dry, sharp intensity that stands out a bit in a positive way, even if it’s fittingly a bit less easygoing than the original. The cinnamon and dried fruits pairing is expressed a bit more profoundly in the opening than in the dry down, in which the blend feels a bit more generically boozy and spicy. Overall, it leans a bit more gourmand than it does tobacco in terms of character, though the tobacco adds sophistication and antiquity. I very much like this Parfum version and want to do a side-by-side with the original EDP. The pricing for the parfum is $150 for 30ml vs. most of the line’s EDP entries at $90 for 30ml. The line is sold in the US at boutiques like Luckyscent. The Parfum performs very well, and the value is quite good, even if not as outstanding as the EDPs’. 8 out of 10

I got a sample of this for my husband and ended up liking it myself lol. I haven’t actually worn it in skin yet because I have no clue what occasion will warrant me smelling like literal cigar and rum besides going to a college bar - even though that may seem like a slight I’m obsessed with this stuff! I keep sniffing the sample spray in the air because it brings to mind such a strong visual of the nicest hot bartender who just got back from their smoke break and hands you a great old fashioned and you can smell the slight linger of cigarette smoke over your drink. So funky but exactly what it says it is!

This one is overdosed with honey, rum, and fruits. It smells quite good albeit very sweet and piercing in the opening. The opening calls to mind a few fragrances for me: The Oud Affair by Vilhelm, L’Homme Ideal Extreme by Guerlain, and Straight to Heaven by Kilian. After a few minutes the drydown is more balanced, with a raisin/tobacco taking the center stage and pushing the honey/rum out of the way. Here it smells more like the original Cigar Rum, but slightly better. I really like it. 8.2/10

To me it smells like fireball sweets. Because of how fruity and spicy it is though, you'd expect it to last longer but you can only smell this up close even with multiple sprays after an hour or two. Also I've been having an issue as a young woman with unisex perfumes recently smelling masculine but I'd say this is right in the middle; perfectly unisex

So maybe this could be a viable flanker? I see Rose, davana and black tea added here so let's see I have the original cigar rum and it's good! I just don't understand the whole cigar rum intense versions (noble scent and regular version) as you can't find them anywhere

I am excited for this flanker. Loved the OG so we'll see how this one performs
