Iridescent Sky

If you’re looking for an olfactory substitute to eating pineapple off a hot aluminium tray [with an aluminium fork] in a vaguely European countryside, then your search should definitely conclude here! Very happy perfume, love the fact it’s got aluminium, love the citrus – just beautiful summery stuff. I’d say the aluminium note is more akin to undergoing vacuum metalization, rather than ingesting the pure aluminium itself – not much metal, but indeed covering a large surface area. Really reminds me of my childhood house’s back garden, though that’s probably not applicable for everyone. Bottle is also really nice – cube stuff.

I got a sample from Bloom and this is soo amazing, the opening is mostly sharp aluminium which isn‘t too strong it‘s more like sunshine sharp aluminium with a bit of Ambrette and Pomelo. Then it slowly transforms into this Pomelo Lemonade with Aluminium and a slight bit of Tea in the Background. Perfectly blendend and an awesome Summer scent, my favorite, in the dry-down there is more smoke that isn‘t too off-putting. This sings attention in a good way. Great scent.

In its opening, it's what I think Tana Mongeau would smell like. like a bottled up version of Burning Man. When it dried down it all blended together and started to smell like what the name suggests, like iridescent fabric. Cool! Unfortunately there's something too fruity and florally about it, and I'm allergic to it.

Opened up with sharp citrus fruity notes and then tea followed. Too bad the tea wasn’t strong enough to make the scent a fruity tea scent. Towards the end it turned smoky, almost too smoky, making it a bit irritating. But overall the scent was likable. On skin it pasted about six hrs. On clothing it lasted over twelve hrs.

i wish that i got the vision and notes from this fragrance. the lemonade/pineapple/sherbet sounds amazing, but i didn't get any of that. just general citrus and airiness. so general that i mistook the aluminum note, which should shock and stand out, as cutting aldehydes.

I had high hopes for this after reading the note list and inspiration, but it just smells like window cleaner to me. Longevity and projection are both moderate, but it's a good deal for the price like everything else from Strangers Parfumerie.

I’m trying to keep an open mind and be objective, but I do not understand the appeal. Iridescent Sky smells like an industrial chemical factory in the opening and the drydown. Like I have walked into the room where they clean the components, with soapy hot water and insect repellent in the humid air. Is Iridescent Sky niche? Hell yes, because I can’t imagine who could wear it. Looking at the interesting list of notes, and wondering where they are hiding. And I’m not one of those people to simply downvote because I wouldn’t wear it, but this is just too weird.

I really tried to like this but it just kept giving me Creed Aventus vibes in the opening. When the dry down hits you still do get a reminder of Aventus but slowly the blueberry and metallic notes start to shine through and this perhaps saves the perfume from being completely written off. If you haven't smelt Aventus then this is great, but otherwise it's very boring and uncreative. Having now smelt a wide range of Strangers Parfumeries scents, I have come to the conclusion that they try too hard to build extremely creative scent DNA's which look great on paper, but unfortunately, fail miserably at the time of execition by either being too synthetic or completely unoriginal (smell wise). Please don't blind buy this house as you will be disappointed 9/10 times.

I think it smells nice and the opening was enjoyable. Pomelo popped for me. I didn’t see the notes so didn’t know it was aluminium and lemonade. Metal notes didn’t smack me in the face. I’ll try this again. I thought it was a bit fleeting, but I’ll try again.
